Sun Oct 3 201016:21Rangers OF Murhpy improving, not ready yet
Rangers outfielder David Murphy is feeling better and will run on Monday.
He said that it feels great with day-to-day activities and that he's optimistic and ready to test his groin early next week. Tuesday, the day before the division series start, is a big day for him to prove his health as well. Murphy had just enough power and speed to provide some short-term at-bats for some fantasy teams this year, but he won't be an everyday fantasy option in most leagues until an everyday job opens up for him in Texas.

David Murphy had a 5-for-5 night in a losing cause Monday versus the Angels.

Wed Sep 1 201023:31Murphy remains an asset
David Murphy had three hits and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Royals.
Murphy continues to fly under the radar despite his production. He hit .307 with four homers, 19 RBI and four steals in 27 August games. Murphy is playing over his head right now, but that happens to guys playing in Texas in the summer. He's a viable mixed league option in deeper formats.
Tue Aug 10 201023:54Murphy's walk-off single in 10th beats Yanks
David Murphy laced a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the tenth inning off Mariano Rivera on Tuesday to push the Rangers to a 4-3 win.
If this game is a preview of a possible playoff series between these teams, count us in. With one out, Rivera intentionally walked Nelson Cruz to get to Murphy. Murphy got ahead in the count 3-0, but Rivera worked back to a full count. On the sixth pitch of the at-bat, Murphy muscled a flare that dropped into right-center field. Murphy finished the day 2-for-3 with three RBI and two walks and is now hitting .271/.333/.417.
Sun May 2 201019:42Rangers' Murphy drives in go-ahead run
David Murphy hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning as the Rangers beat the Mariners 3-1 on Sunday.
The Rangers were down 1-0 entering the top of the ninth, but Elvis Andrus walked and stole second to lead off the inning. Murphy then singled him home with out to tie the game at 1-1. In the 11th Murphy came up with runners on the corners and one out and lifted a sacrifice fly to left to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead. The Rangers then tacked on another run, with Neftali Feliz pitching a scoreless bottom of the 11th for the save. Murphy entered the day batting just .171, but manager Ron Washington hit him third in the lineup and it paid dividends in a win.
