Michael Wuertz threw off a mound Wednesday afternoon and reported no problems with his once-sore right shoulder. | ||||||
A's manager Bob Geren said he expects Wuertz to pitch in a minor league game sometime around April 14. Once he begins that rehab assignment, it should only be a week before he meets up with the big league squad. | ||||||

Currently sidelined with shoulder tendinitis, Wuertz resumed throwing on Sunday. "I'm hoping to get on the mound in the next couple days," said Wuertz, "but it's hard to tell when I'll be back in a game. If it was up to me, I'd be out there pitching right now." Though he's eligible to return from the disabled list this weekend, it's more likely we see him later this month. | ||||||

Wuertz, shut down from throwing earlier this week due to shoulder tendinitis, resumed throwing on Sunday. He's eligible to return on Saturday. Wuertz should return by the middle of the month. | ||||||
