Thu Apr 28 201116:31Alex White to make MLB debut Saturday
Alex White will make his major league debut on Saturday evening against the Tigers.
White, 22, has a stellar 1.90 ERA and 28/5 K/BB ratio through four starts at Triple-A Columbus this season. He was a first-round pick in 2009 and has serious long-term potential, but the youngster can probably be avoided in his first taste of the bigs.

Thu Apr 28 201112:47Indians could turn to White for spot start
Indians prospect right-hander Alex White is a candidate to replace Carlos Carrasco in the starting rotation.
The Indians need a spot-starter for Saturday and White appears to be the best option since David Huff just pitched on Tuesday. The 22-year-old right-hander posted is off to a fantastic start with Triple-A Columbus, posting a 1.90 ERA and 28/5 K/BB ratio over his first four starts. The 2009 first-round pick would need to be added to the 40-man roster.

Mon Feb 21 201118:35White not competing for rotation spot
Indians manager Manny Acta said Monday that prospect right-hander Alex White is not competing for a spot in the team's starting rotation.
That's pretty much what we figured. White, 22, went 10-10 with a 2.45 ERA over 150 2/3 innings between Single-A Kinston and Double-A Akron last season, averaging 7.0 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9. He'll likely begin the season with Triple-A Columbus, but could earn a promotion to the big leagues later in the year. The former 2009 first-round pick was recently ranked as the organization's No. 2 prospect by Baseball America.

The Indians invited 2009 first-round pick RHP Alex White to spring training.
White will be joined by nine other prospects in Cleveland's camp, including 2008 first-round pick third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall and 2009 second-round pick second baseman Jason Kipnis. White won the Bob Feller Award as Cleveland's top minor league pitcher last year, combining to go 10-10 with a 2.45 ERA at Class-A Kinston and Akron.

Mon May 3 201015:12Indians prospect White goes seven scoreless
2009 first-round pick Alex White allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings Sunday for Single-A Kinston.
White gets plenty of grounders and strikeouts when he's on, and he's been on for the most part this year, compiling a 2.81 ERA through five starts. Surprisingly, the right-hander is dominating lefties, holding them to a .119 average. Righties, on the other hand, are managing to get the ball in the air against him and are hitting .294 with two homers.
