The Indians need a spot-starter for Saturday and White appears to be the best option since David Huff just pitched on Tuesday. The 22-year-old right-hander posted is off to a fantastic start with Triple-A Columbus, posting a 1.90 ERA and 28/5 K/BB ratio over his first four starts. The 2009 first-round pick would need to be added to the 40-man roster. | ||||||

That's pretty much what we figured. White, 22, went 10-10 with a 2.45 ERA over 150 2/3 innings between Single-A Kinston and Double-A Akron last season, averaging 7.0 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9. He'll likely begin the season with Triple-A Columbus, but could earn a promotion to the big leagues later in the year. The former 2009 first-round pick was recently ranked as the organization's No. 2 prospect by Baseball America. | ||||||

White gets plenty of grounders and strikeouts when he's on, and he's been on for the most part this year, compiling a 2.81 ERA through five starts. Surprisingly, the right-hander is dominating lefties, holding them to a .119 average. Righties, on the other hand, are managing to get the ball in the air against him and are hitting .294 with two homers. | ||||||
