Thu Sep 13 201220:50Scutaro would like to return to Giants
Marco Scutaro told Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com that he would like to return to the Giants next season.
Scutaro wasn't too thrilled when he was traded from the Rockies in July, but it hasn't taken him long to get comfortable in his return to the Bay Area. "I would love to come back here," said Scutaro, an impending free agent. "I really love it here. There are great fans, it's a great place to play. More important, it's a place where you have a chance to win every year." Scutaro is willing to sign during the team's exclusive negotiating window after the season and Baggarly hears that the Giants "will make every effort" to keep him since they don't have any major-league ready alternatives at second base. Scutaro, who turns 37 in October, is batting .293/.336/.388 with six home runs, 60 RBI, nine stolen bases and a .724 OPS in 139 games played this season between the Giants and Rockies.

Marco Scutaro got the big hit in Friday's 5-2 win over the Dodgers, untying a 2-2 game with a two-run single off Josh Beckett in the seventh.
Scutaro's making a habit of this in a Giants uniform. San Francisco's second baseman finished his night 2-for-5. Six weeks shy of his 37th birthday, Scutaro is batting .331 with 26 RBI in 39 games since coming over from Colorado.

The Giants scored in the seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th innings to win their third straight game. Scutaro also played a big role when they tied the game in the ninth, as he doubled and scored on Buster Posey's hit. With a .322 average and 23 RBI in 146 at-bats since coming over from the Rockies, he's been a nice upgrade over Ryan Theriot at second base for the Giants.

Sat Aug 18 201201:18Marco Scutaro hits two-run homer
Marco Scutaro went 2-for-5 and hit a two-run homer Friday against the Padres.
We know the Giants fell in love with Ryan Theriot for some reason, but Scutaro is the superior option as a starting second baseman now that Pablo Sandoval is back. He's hit .325 and driven in 17 runs while striking out just four times in 80 at-bats for the Giants. Theriot has 27 RBI in 322 at-bats for the season.

The seven-RBI were a career high for Scutaro, who was playing in his 1,210th game. Sun Jul 15 201214:39Tigers scouting Marco Scutaro
Tracy Ringolsby of FOXSports.com reports that the Tigers are scouting Marco Scutaro Sunday.
It makes sense, as the Tigers are desperately in need of an upgrade at second base. Ringolsby's colleague, Jon Morosi, reported earlier this month that the asking price for Scutaro is high, but we can't imagine that that's the case.
