Fri Jul 22 201122:19Jurrjens gives up three bombs
Jair Jurrjens struck out nine over six innings Friday but gave up four runs on four hits - including three home runs - and three walks in a 6-4 win over the Reds.
The nine strikeouts are a season high, but he came into the game having allowed just five longballs all season and has now surrendered 10 runs over his last two starts. We're far from ready to sound the alarm, but Jurrjens isn't quite the pitcher he's appeared to be for most of the season. The righty will bring a 2.44 ERA and 1.11 WHIP into his next outing against the Pirates.

Sun Jul 17 201117:44Jurrjens shelled in no-decision
Jair Jurrjens got roughed up by the Nationals on Sunday, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks in five inning of Atlanta's 9-8 win at home.
He struck out six in a no-decision. Today was easily Jurrjens' worst start of the season, and one that balloons his ERA from 1.87 to 2.26. His first chance to bounce back should come on Friday against the Reds.

Wed Jul 6 201122:51Jurrjens first NL pitcher to reach 12 wins
Jair Jurrjens held the Rockies to one run on five hits in six innings of work on Wednesday evening, easily improving to 12-3 in Atlanta's 9-1 win at home.
With the win, Jurrjens becomes the first National League pitcher to notch 12 victories this season. He's done so on the back of a 1.87 ERA and 1.07 WHIP, numbers that will be almost impossible to sustain in the second half. That is not to say he won't remain highly valuable, however.

Fri Jul 1 201122:11Jurrjens fans eight as he one-hits Orioles
Jair Jurrjens blew away the Orioles on Friday evening, throwing a one-hit shutout in Atlanta's 4-0 victory at home.
Jurrjens had a perfect game going until walking Mark Reynolds to lead off the sixth, and then lost his no-hitter when Adam Jones tagged him for a single with one out in the seventh. It was easily a career-best night for Jurrjens, who had never before thrown a shutout. Through 15 starts and 104 2/3 innings, he is now the owner of an absurd 1.89 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Don't be surprised if he starts the game for the National League in this month's All-Star game.

Jair Jurrjens allowed one run on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings on Sunday, improving to 9-3 in Atlanta's 4-2 win over the Rangers at home.
He struck out four and walked two. Another nice outing for Jurrjens, though he has now failed to complete six frames in back-to-back starts after never doing so in his first 11 outings. The owner of a 2.11 ERA and 1.13 WHIP, his next start should come against the Padres in San Diego.

Sun May 29 201123:14Jair Jurrjens beats Reds for seventh victory
Jair Jurrjens limited the Reds to one run and six hits over eight innings to earn his seventh victory Sunday.
Jurrjens is the MLB leader with a 1.51 WHIP and he's tied for first with seven victories. He has the modest strikeout rate, of course, but since he's surrendered just three homers and 11 walks, those singles he's giving up aren't doing much damage.

Jair Jurrjens kept rolling against the Brewers on Monday evening, allowing just seven hits and two runs while striking out four in 7 2/3 innings of work in a 6-2 Braves victory.
Jurrjens is now 3-0 in four starts since coming off the disabled list on April 16, and has yet to allow more than two runs in an outing or pitch fewer than six frames. He owns a 1.52 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. He'll face the Phillies on the road this weekend.

Jurrjens cruised early, throwing just 45 pitches through five innings. Sat Apr 16 201122:17Jurrjens pitches brilliantly in 2011 debut
Jair Jurrjens held the Mets to two hits over seven innings Saturday in the Braves' 4-0 victory.
It was Jurrjens' first start of the season and he showed no lingering effects from the oblique strain that he suffered late in spring training. The Mets did not score a run and only got one batter beyond first base, dropping the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Jurrjens has the talent to become a really valuable fantasy starter here in 2011 and will look to continue rolling next week against the Dodgers.

Braves activated RHP Jair Jurrjens from the 15-day disabled list.
Jurrjens will make his first start of the 2011 regular season on Saturday night against the Mets. He pitched well earlier this week in a rehab start and should be ready to provide a solid mid-rotation presence for the Braves. The righty should be owned in most mixed leagues.

Fri Apr 15 201119:29Jurrjens starting on Saturday against Mets
As expected, Jair Jurrjens (oblique) will make his season debut on Saturday against the Mets.
"It will be awesome to be able to go out there and not worry about anything," Jurrjens said. "I'll just go out there and throw strikes and only worry about the hitters." Since the beginning of last season, Jurrjens has dealt with shoulder, hamstring, knee and oblique injuries, and is not a good bet to stay healthy in 2011. That being said, he's worth a flier in all formats if you're in need of pitching.

"He'll throw again on Monday at Gwinnett, and we'll see how he goes from there. He'll be lined up to [start] on the 16th if everything goes well."
