Wed Jul 30 201409:48Brown not in lineup for Wednesday's game against Mets
Brown is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets, according to CSN's Jim Salisbury.
Brown has started just nine of 15 games since Grady Sizemore joined the Phillies on July 11, and he will take a seat in favor of Sizemore again Wednesday. Brown has hit the ball in July better than he has all season, but with that in mind, the .716 OPS he has posted this month is indicative of just how much he has struggled with the bat this season.

Domonic Brown homered and drove home three runs, powering the Phillies to a 9-5 victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Brown delivered an RBI groundout in the first inning, then really broke things open with a two-run shot off Evan Marshall in the seventh. It has been a very disappointing season to this point for Brown, who is slashing just .231/.281/.341 with seven homers and 49 RBI.

Tue Jun 24 201419:04Dom Brown could receive extended break
Domonic Brown is not in the Phillies' lineup Tuesday and manager Ryne Sandberg said that the outfielder needs "a little mental break."
"Maybe a little mental break and start over," Sandberg said. "Maybe something will click and he'll get to where he was." Brown got in some extra work in the batting cage Tuesday, trying to level out a swing that Sandberg feels has become too upper-cutting. The skipper indicated that Brown might sit out additional games, though he didn't reveal how long the break would be. "Just day to day," he said. "What I feel like."

Fri May 30 201409:32Phillies not considering demotion for Brown
Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said Thursday that the team is not considering optioning Domonic Brown to Triple-A "at this stage."
"We have to get Dom right here before we start thinking about that stuff," Amaro added. With a .200/.258/.297 batting line through his first 190 plate appearances this season, Brown has been one of the least productive regulars in the game. That said, he's earned a long leash after last year's breakout campaign. Brown hit 18 homers between May and June last season, so he's certainly capable of getting red-hot and turning his year around.

Wed May 21 201423:30Brown homer one of few bright spots for Phils
Domonic Brown went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Marlins.
Brown's two-run home run in the eighth inning was a bit too late, as the Phillies had already fallen behind 10-3. Nevertheless, it's a good sign to see from the outfielder as he has followed up his All-Star campaign in 2013 with a season-long slump. He now has three home runs, with two of them being hit in his last four games. The Phillies hope it's a sign Brown is ready to break out. He is slashing a disappointing .217/.271/.325 on the season.

Sat May 17 201422:26Domonic Brown drives in five vs. Cincinnati
Domonic Brown homered and drove in five total runs to help the Phillies pound the Reds on Saturday.
Brown hit a two-run shot as part of the Phillies' six-run fourth inning and then smacked a bases-clearing double with three ducks on the pond in the bottom of the seventh. He's been stuck in an extended early-season slump -- especially in the power department -- but the big 26-year-old outfielder is capable of going on a tear at any time. This could be the game that lights that stove.

Tue May 13 201422:04Brown walks, triples as Phillies fall to LAA
Domonic Brown went 1-for-3 with a walk and a triple as the Phillies were defeated by the Angels on Tuesday.
Brown has been in a season-long funk but looked better at the plate than he has all season, making some loud outs along with his seventh-inning triple and ninth-inning walk. The left fielder is slashing a disappointing .227/.290/.303 but as he showed in May last season, he is capable of inflicting terrible, terrible damage at a moment's notice.

It was just the third homer allowed by Avilan in 105 innings as a major leaguer. While Brown may just now be finding his power stroke, he is hitting .304 in the early going. He also has a couple of steals in 13 games, putting him well ahead of last year's pace (8-for-11 in 139 games).

Mon Dec 9 201313:01Phillies 'actively shopping' Domonic Brown
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports hears from a source that the Phillies are actively shopping outfielder Domonic Brown.
The Phillies are reportedly looking to sell high on Brown, who had a career year in 2013. Getting everyday playing time for the first time, he finished with 27 home runs and an .818 OPS. 12 of his homers came in May, which may lead some to conclude his true talent level is lower than it seems. Opening up a spot in the outfield could give the Phillies a reason to more intently shop closer Jonathan Papelbon as well.
