Domonic Brown (heel) returned to action on Friday, grounding into a game-ending double play as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning.
It's the first game action that Brown has seen since an Achilles injury sidelined him on September 1. Brown was able to take batting practice without any issues on Thursday, and could soon be cleared to rejoin the Phillies starting lineup. The 26-year-old outfielder is slashing .273/.319/.512 with 27 homers, 81 RBI and eight stolen bases in 124 games on the season.

Domonic Brown (heel) took batting practice Thursday and said afterwards that he feels "close to 100 percent."
It's the first time he's done so since his right Achilles issue popped up a couple weeks ago. Brown seems likely to return at some point later this month. "I'm just trying to finish the season being healthy," he said. "If I'm feeling it, if it's bothering me, then I'm not going to play around with it. But I feel good right now. I feel like I'm close to 100 percent."
