With Ryan Zimmerman still plagued by hamstring issues, Adam Kennedy drew the start at third base Sunday for the Nationals.

When Ian Desmond won the Nats' starting shortstop job in camp, there were people critical of the decision to sign Kennedy since it meant that the Nats had an extra infielder who wouldn't really have a consistent home. Depth is never a bad thing to have and Zimmerman's injury has really driven that point home as the Nats have been able to cope with his absence pretty effectively over the past few days.
