Cubs manager Dale Sveum said that he would prefer to stay away from using Rafael Dolis on Monday night.

Fri May 4 201217:59Rafael Dolis earns save for Cubs
Rafael Dolis pitched a hitless ninth with a one-run lead to earn his second save Friday against the Dodgers.
Dolis doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence -- he had a 4/8 K/BB ratio in 16 1/3 innings this season -- but it looks like he's the top choice in Chicago at the moment. James Russell came in during the seventh inning today and was charged with a run after giving up two hits. Kerry Wood gave up two runs in the eighth to eliminate Dolis' margin for error in the ninth. All in all, that makes it a pretty great day for those who speculated on Dolis already.

Fri May 4 201211:39Dolis, Russell to share Cubs' closer role
Rafael Dolis and James Russell are expected to share the Cubs' closer role based on matchups following the demotion of Carlos Marmol.
Because he's right-handed, Dolis figures to see the bulk of the save chances for the Cubbies for the time being. While he does throw hard, Dolis has had control issues throughout his professional career, and he doesn't have any consistent secondary pitches. We're not confident in his or Russell's ability to hang on to the job over the long haul, but they're both obviously worth picking up for the time being.
