Fri May 17 201310:21Aaron Harang expected to make next start
The Mariners think Aaron Harang (back) will be ready to make his next start.
Harang was scratched from Thursday's outing due to a stiff lower back, but it appears that he's not going to need a DL stint unless he has a setback over the next few days. The big right-hander holds a 7.30 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over five starts this season.

Tue May 7 201322:42Aaron Harang pitches well in loss
Aaron Harang held the Pirates to two runs over six innings Tuesday but was tagged with the loss.
Harang allowed a single and two doubles to start off the game but was terrific after that. He gave up a total of five hits, didn't walk anyone and struck out six on the night. After really struggling in his first three starts for the M's, Harang has started to settle in the last two times out. He'll have a tough test against the Yankees in New York next week.

Thu May 2 201301:26Aaron Harang records first win for Mariners
Aaron Harang earned his first win for the Mariners by holding the Orioles to two runs and four hits in six innings on Wednesday.
Harang, who entered with an 11.37 ERA in three starts, silenced the Orioles for five innings tonight before finally giving up two runs in the sixth. He struck out five and walked just one. Depending on how the Mariners want to line up their rotation, Harang could start either in Pittsburgh or at home against the A's next week. He might be worth using in AL-only leagues if he gets the Pirates, but he's only an option in those kinds of favorable matchups right now.

Aaron Harang was tagged for five runs in three innings by the Angels in a loss Friday.
Harang has been handed L's in all three starts for the Mariners, amassing an 11.37 ERA in the process. The Mariners aren't likely to cast him off with both Erasmo Ramirez and Danny Hultzen injured in the minors, but if those two can get healthy, one imagines Harang could exit soon thereafter.

Wed Apr 17 201301:40Aaron Harang takes loss to Tigers
Aaron Harang took a loss in his Mariners debut after allowing three runs in five innings Tuesday against the Tigers.
There's no shame in getting beaten by Miguel Cabrera, and that's what happened to Harang tonight; Cabrera had an RBI single and a two-run homer against him. At best, Harang figures to be a fringe starter in AL-only leagues. We'd be a bit more optimistic if they hadn't moved in the fences at Safeco.

Fri Apr 12 201319:38Harang to displace Beavan in M's rotation
Aaron Harang has displaced Blake Beavan in the Mariners' starting rotation, and will make his first start on Tuesday against the Tigers.
Harang had a nice bounce-back season in 2012, posting a 3.61 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 131/85 K/BB ratio over 179 2/3 innings with the Dodgers. While he isn't the high-strikeout fantasy ace that he once was, he should carve out some value in AL-only and deeper mixed formats while pitching in the friendly confines of Safeco Field.

Thu Apr 11 201319:32Aaron Harang's role yet to be determined
Mariners manager Eric Wedge said Aaron Harang will throw a bullpen session before the club determines whether he'll enter the rotation or the bullpen.
It would be a surprise if he isn't used as a starter with both Blake Beavan and Brandon Maurer really struggling early on. Harang posted a 3.61 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 131/85 K/BB ratio across 179 2/3 innings last season and could have a bit of AL-only value.

Thu Apr 11 201315:28M's acquire Harang from Rockies for Hensley
Mariners acquired RHP Aaron Harang from the Rockies for RHP Steven Hensley.
The Rockies wound up saving around $2.5 million by trading Ramon Hernandez to the Dodgers for Harang and then shipping Harang off to the M's. The 34-year-old right-hander is expected to join Seattle's starting rotation but he's doubtful to gain much fantasy value. He had a rough 1.40 WHIP and 131/85 K/BB ratio in 179 2/3 innings last season with the Dodgers.

Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM reports that the Angels are not interested in trading for Aaron Harang.
Harang was acquired from the Dodgers for Ramon Hernandez on Saturday and immediately designated for assignment, so the Rockies now have a little over a week to complete a trade. While the Angels will be without Jered Weaver (elbow) for at least the next month, they are expected to move forward with Garrett Richards in the rotation. As for Harang, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported Sunday that the Red Sox, Twins, and Astros have also expressed interest in the veteran right-hander.

Aaron Harang yielded two earned runs in three innings on Saturday but the Dodgers beat the Mariners 3-2.
Harang gave up six hits and issued two walks in the ugly outing. He now has a 10.50 ERA in five Cactus League innings, which isn't going to help his trade value. The Dodgers are expected to unload a couple of starters before the beginning of the 2013 regular season.

Thu Mar 7 201313:03Report: O's scouting Harang, Lilly, Capuano
Roch Kubatko of MASN reports that the Orioles continue to scout Aaron Harang, Ted Lilly and Chris Capuano from the Dodgers.
Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reported Monday that the Orioles were scouting Harang when he threw in a minor league game, so it doesn't come as a big surprise that they are also monitoring Lilly and Capuano. All three pitchers could become expendable for the Dodgers if Hyun-Jin Ryu pitches well and all continues to go well with Chad Billingsley's elbow.

Aaron Harang was rocked for four runs over two innings in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.
