Cardinals acquired RHP Edward Mujica from the Marlins for 3B Zack Cox.

Mujica has registered a cool 1.15 WHIP and 26/9 K/BB ratio across 39 innings this season and finished with a 2.96 ERA in 76 frames last year. He should do well in a setup role for St. Louis. Cox was the Cardinals' top pick in the 2010 draft.

According to Peter Gammons of MLB Network, the Cardinals have acquired right-handed reliever Edward Mujica from the Marlins for prospect infielder Zack Cox.

Edward Mujica was activated from the DL on Thursday July 19.

"More pain today," Mujica said Thursday, while also adding that he was in pain even while brushing his teeth. It's even more of an issue for Mujica because his splitter is his best pitch, a offering that puts a lot of pressure on the wrist. It sounds like this could wind up being a DL situation.

Mujica is not expected to need a trip to the DL, so unless his running goes poorly, he should be available to pitch soon.
