Carter, 28, hit .199/.307/.427 with 24 homers and 64 RBIs in 129 games for Houston this year. He batted .333/.400/.822 with six home runs and 12 RBIs over September and October to somewhat salvage his season.

Carter went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in a 7-6 win over Seattle on Wednesday.

Carter appears to be getting hos, as he has five homers in his last nine games. This is when the Astros need a hot stretch, but it wont salvage his season. Carter is batting just .196, but he does have 24 home runs in 378 at-bats. He simply can't stick around the majors batting below .200 and he'll need to fix that in the offseason if he wants an everyday job.

Carter went 2-for-3 with his 22nd homer of the season during Sunday's 4-2 win over Texas.

Carter has homered in four of his last six games for the Astros, and while he's no longer their everyday starting first baseman, he's certainly getting hot at the right time. Overall, the 28-year-old is hitting .195/.305/.414 over 370 at-bats this season.

Carter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 4-3 loss to Oakland on Friday.

It's been a rough year for Carter, as he's hitting just .186. The power is not dreadful though, as he has 19 home runs and 55 RBI to go along with a .299 OBP. Carter has lost almost all of his mixed-league relevancy and his value is limited to NL-only formats at this juncture.

Carter hit a three-run homer -- his 18th of the season -- during Sunday's 7-5 loss to Minnesota.

Carter's home run was actually his first since July 28. After blasting a career-high 37 homers last year, the veteran slugger may not even surpass 20 long balls this season now that he's no longer the Astros' primary option at first base. Carter has been limited to only 41 at-bats over the last 30 days, so he shouldn't be in your fantasy lineup unless you're desperate for power or need a DFS punt-play.

Carter will sit for a fourth straight game Thursday.

It appears the Astros have soured on their former starting first baseman, and have instead decided to use the combination of Luis Valbuena (starting again Thursday) and Marwin Gonzlez. While Carter still remains a part of the roster, it's no longer safe to consider him a member of the everyday starting lineup.

Carter is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rangers.

Carter will sit for a third straight game Wednesday, which isn't a huge surprise given his offensive struggles this season. Luis Valbuena will start at first base Wednesday, and both he and Marwin Gonzalez could continue to eat into Carter's playing time unless he can figure something out.

Carter is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Tuesday's absence marks Carter's second in a row and fifth in nine games. He has just one hit in his last seven games, and while that hit was a homer, Carter's power contributions may not be enough to avoid losing further playing time to the likes of Marwin Gonzalez and Luis Valbuena.
