Tue Mar 20 201223:46Snider drives in two in win over BoSox
Travis Snider went 2-for-5 with a two run double and a run scored in a 9-2 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night.
Snider is now hitting .324 (12-for-37) with four homers and 15 RBI this spring. Normally we'd say that would be enough to secure the starting left field job, but his main competition Eric Thames had two hits and two walks Tuesday and is hitting .323 (10-for-31) with one home run and six RBI during Grapefruit League play. With both players rising to the occasion, this will battle will likely go down to the final week.

Snider had just the one RBI today, but he's now at 13 for the spring. He's making a strong case to start in left field for the Blue Jays, though Eric Thames is producing at the plate too.

Tue Mar 6 201216:22Travis Snider strikes out three times
Travis Snider fanned all three times he was up Tuesday against the Phillies.
Fair or not, the three strikeouts make this look a whole lot worse than a routine 0-for-3. Snider has fanned 236 times in 799 major league at-bats, which is a big reason he's hit just .248.

Sun Mar 4 201216:29Travis Snider knocks in three runs in win
Travis Snider went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI to help the Blue Jays beat the Pirates 8-5 on Sunday.
Eric Thames had a big game in last night's opener, but Snider pretty much matched him today. To go along with the three RBI, he stole a base and collected an outfield assist. Thames and Snider are battling to become the Jays' left fielder against right-handers, with the loser likely to head to Triple-A.

Thu Aug 25 201123:43Travis Snider (wrist) likely done for season
Travis Snider has been diagnosed with wrist tendinitis and ordered to rest for the next 4-6 weeks.
In other words, he won't be joining the Blue Jays as a September callup. Snider came down with wrist inflammation earlier this week while stationed at Triple-A Las Vegas and was sent for an MRI on Wednesday. The test showed no structural damage, but the Jays have decided to play it safe with their 23-year-old outfielder.

Tue Aug 16 201108:13Travis Snider on roll since demotion
Travis Snider is batting .480 (12-for-25) with 10 RBI and five steals in six games since being demoted.
The trend continues. Snider seems to have no trouble mashing at the Triple-A level, but he's batted just .225/.269/.348 this year in the majors, failing to secure an everyday spot in the Toronto lineup. Perhaps he'll figure it all out by September.

Blue Jays optioned OF Travis Snider to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Yet another demotion for the talented 23-year-old. Snider has hit just .225/.269/.348 in 49 major league games this year and will continue to work on his craft down at the Triple-A level. Jose Bautista is moving back to the outfield with the arrival of top third base prospect Brett Lawrie.

Thu Jul 28 201105:42Travis Snider 0-for-4 with four K's
Travis Snider struck out in all four plate appearances on Wednesday.
After busting out for a couple weeks after his July 4 call-up, Snider has taken a small but noticeable step back. His batting line now sits at .228/.276/.365, and he has struck out 12 times in his last five games. The addition of Colby Rasmus could put added pressure on Snide to perform.

Travis Snider went 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI on Wednesday, leading the Blue Jays past the Mariners 11-6 at home.
The five-RBI effort was Snider's second in 13 games since being called back up to the major leagues on July 4, while he's now batting .357 with nine doubles, two homers and 17 RBI in 56 at-bats since returning from Triple-A Las Vegas. For the first time in a long time, there's reason to be bullish on Snider's future.

Fri Jul 15 201122:12Snider keeps raking as Jays drop Yankees
Travis Snider stayed sizzling on Friday, going 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, run scored and stolen base in Toronto's 7-1 win over the Yankees.
Snider is now batting .421 with eight doubles and 11 RBI in nine games since rejoining the Blue Jays on July 4. The sample size is incredibly small, but considering Snider's pedigree and history of minor-league success, it's fair to wonder if perhaps this will finally be the call-up where he puts it all together.

Fri Jul 8 201122:35Snider drives in five as Jays roll Indians
Travis Snider had a big night Friday, homering and driving in five runs in a win over the Indians.
Snider was swinging a hot bat at Triple-A Las Vegas at the time of his recall, and it's carried over with the Blue Jays, as he's batting .409 with a homer and eight RBI in five games. He's worth adding in mixed leagues if he's still on the waiver wire.

Mon Jul 4 201117:21Travis Snider doubles three times
In his first game back from the minors, Travis Snider delivered three doubles and drove in two runs Monday against the Red Sox.
Snider has hit just three homers in 293 at-bats between Triple-A and the majors this year, but he now has 28 doubles. It's a very odd development, given that Snider had 25 homers versus 40 doubles in 612 major league at-bats going into the season.

Sun Jun 19 201111:20Travis Snider diagnosed with concussion
Travis Snider has been diagnosed with a concussion as a result of getting beaned in the head during a game for Triple-A Las Vegas Friday.
A tough break for Snider, who has put up a .324/.396/.468 batting line with two homers over 188 at-bats for Las Vegas since being demoted in late April. He probably wasn't terribly far from a promotion back to Toronto, but obviously he'll be out for a while now.
