Sat Dec 28 201317:42Metta World Peace won't play on Saturday
Metta World Peace (knee) will not play against the Raptors on Saturday.
It was a surprise to see him on the court for Friday's game against the Raptors, but only played five minutes in the loss. World Peace is going to have a blood-spinning procedure next month and he's unlikely to suit up for any games before that date with the doctor on Jan. 6.

Sat Dec 28 201310:52Metta World Peace: "in another galaxy"
On the rumored meeting Knicks owner James Dolan held with the team before Thursday's game, Metta World Peace offered no comment because he is "an alien."
"I was in another galaxy yesterday with my galactic friends," he said. If he doesn't travel with the team to Toronto on Saturday, Metta might still be going elsewhere. He may want to consider a name change: Galactic Peace.

Sat Dec 28 201301:04Metta World Peace (knee) plays five minutes
Metta World Peace (knee) played five minutes on Friday against the Raptors.
With the Knicks needing to travel up to Toronto for the equivalent of a one-game road trip we're going to keep him on the injury report until we get a confirmation that MWP will travel with the team. He has no real fantasy value at this time.

Fri Dec 27 201318:50Metta World Peace will play vs. Toronto
Metta World Peace (knee) will play against the Raptors on Friday.
He is going to have a knee procedure on Jan. 6, so this is a bit of a surprise. "We're in a situation where we need each other," World Peace said. The Knicks won't have Carmelo Anthony tonight, so desperate times call for desperate measures. He's not really worth using since he might just be dressing as an emergency player.

Wed Dec 25 201312:58Metta World Peace won't play on Christmas
Metta World Peace (knee) will not play on Christmas against the Thunder.
He is going to have a procedure on his knee next month and it's possible we won't see World Peace in game action for a while. His Orthokine procedure is scheduled for Jan. 6 in New York City, meaning the Knicks will likely keep him out until at least that point.

Mon Dec 23 201317:42Metta World Peace will have knee procedure
Metta World Peace (knee) will have a procedure on his left knee on January 6.
It will be the Orthokine procedure made famous by Kobe Bryant a couple years ago, but he'll have the surgery in New York City and not overseas like Kobe. World Peace will be out an indefinite amount of time and the Knicks won't be missing him much with his minutes decreasing. His fantasy value is floundering and he's not really worth owning in almost any format.

Mon Dec 23 201311:59World Peace (knee) doubtful to play Monday
Metta World Peace (left knee) is not expected to play on Monday, but he will go through shootaround.
It's mildly encouraging to see MWP active in any capacity, even if he can't suit up. He's already had his troublesome left knee drained twice this season and suggested that another "procedure" might be required, though details have yet to emerge.

Sat Dec 21 201314:26Metta World Peace (knee) may not play Monday
Metta World Peace (sore left knee) may not be ready to play on Monday.
"I just have to take some time," he said before sitting out Saturday's game. "We'll see how long." He had meniscus surgery on his left knee last March and has recently had the knee drained twice. When asked whether he'll be out more than one day, MWP replied, "If I had to guess, yeah. But I would have to talk to the doctors first and I would have to talk to the trainers." Given his limited role for the Knicks this season, and his ongoing knee problems, fantasy owners should continue avoiding him.

Sat Dec 21 201310:25World Peace (knee) out vs. Memphis Saturday
Metta World Peace (knee) will not play vs. the Grizzlies on Saturday.
The good news for New York is that Amare Stoudemire (knee) will be available off the bench, which enables Mike Woodson to start a 'big' lineup featuring Tyson Chandler, Andrea Bargnani and Carmelo Anthony. MWP remains day-to-day.

Fri Dec 20 201313:39Metta World Peace (knee) questionable for Sat
Metta World Peace (knee) missed Friday's practice and is questionable for Saturday's game against Memphis.
World Peace has had his moments of fantasy usefulness this season, but his recent lack of minutes has relegated him to being waiver wire fodder even when healthy. We'll monitor MWP's situation up until Saturday's noon tip-off, but he shouldn't be starting on fantasy rosters right now anyway.

Tue Dec 10 201311:09World Peace to start Tuesday if Martin is out
Metta World Peace will start against the Cavaliers if Kenyon Martin (knee) can't play.
With Kenyon Martin sounding doubtful for Tuesday night, World Peace is looking likely to draw the start. MWP has chipped in 12.0 points, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 3-pointers over his last two games, so he could make for a nice, cheap play in daily leagues if Martin is indeed out Tuesday night.

Sat Dec 7 201301:06World Peace gets in rotation on Friday
Metta World Peace played 25 minutes against the Magic on Friday and had 12 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers on 4-of-7 shooting.
Coach Mike Woodson said before the game he can't use too many players in his rotation, so World Peace might have a tough time getting consistent minutes. Amare Stoudemire sat out of the second game of a back-to-back set tonight, so the big takeaway is MWP could be a deep-league play when Amare sits out again.

Tue Nov 26 201302:38World Peace plays nine minutes on Monday
Metta World Peace (knee) played just nine minutes on Monday, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting with one rebound and one assist.
Why the Knicks keep throwing him out there is anybody's guess at this rate, and fantasy owners can do better in most standard formats.

Thu Nov 21 201302:44Metta World Peace struggles in return
Metta World Peace returned from having his knee drained a couple times recently, but hit just 1-of-5 shots for two points in Wednesday's loss.
His knee problem is a pretty big concern and chances are you can find a more reliable (and healthy) option on waivers.

Wed Nov 20 201318:25World Peace said his knee was drained twice
Updating a previous item, Metta World Peace said his knee has been drained twice in the past two weeks.
Most of the injury news from the Knicks comes from the players and this is no different. World Peace will dress and play without restrictions on Wednesday. He might be used to score more with Raymond Felton out of the lineup.

Wed Nov 20 201317:23Metta World Peace will play vs. Indiana
Metta World Peace (knee) will dress for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.
The team was hopeful he would play for the game after he missed Tuesday's action. World Peace had his knee drained on Monday and coach Mike Woodson said MWP will play without restrictions. On a busy 13-game night, fantasy owners should have other options lined up.

Tue Nov 19 201311:33Metta World Peace (knee) hopeful for Weds
Coach Mike Woodson is hopeful that Metta World Peace (knee) will play Wednesday.
World Peace didn't make the trip to Detroit due to the death of his sister and having fluid drained from his left knee, but coach Mike Woodson is hopeful that MWP will be available for Wednesday's game against Indianapolis. If World Peace isn't able to go on Wednesday, Kenyon Martin and Tim Hardaway Jr. will continue to see an uptick in their minutes.

Mon Nov 18 201322:26Metta World Peace has left knee drained
Metta World Peace had fluid drained from his left knee on Monday.
"I am looking forward to being back with my team after this trip," World Peace said on his Twitter account. It would appear he's going to miss Tuesday and Wednesday's games before the Nets come back home for a game on Saturday. He's been complaining about pain in his knee and hopefully this minor procedure will help. Tim Hardaway Jr. should continue to see around 20 minutes.

Mon Nov 18 201311:38Metta World Peace doubtful w/ sore left knee
Metta World Peace is doubtful to play on Tuesday due to a sore left knee.
He didn't practice on Monday and his absence would leave the Knicks even more short-handed vs. the Pistons' frontcourt. Kenyon Martin has been cleared to play in consecutive games, at least, and rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. should also pick up more minutes until Metta returns.
