Tue Jan 31 201203:27Price bombs in spot-start for injured Nash
Ronnie Price started for injured Steve Nash (thigh) on Monday, scoring just two points on 1-of-4 shooting with one rebound and five assists in 25 minutes.
Unlike last time he spot-started for Nash and scored 18 points with eight assists, Price had nothing today, and he hasn't done much of anything lately. Sebastian Telfair scored 13 points with six assists and three treys in 23 minutes off the bench, and may end up starting and/or being the better play if Nash misses more time.

Tue Jan 24 201204:44Price starts but scores just three points
Ronnie Price started at shooting guard again on Monday, but scored just three points on 1-of-4 shooting (including a three) with no rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 15 minutes.
Unlike the past two games the Suns lost tonight, and Alvin Gentry can't lean on the wins anymore for the strange lineup decision. None of his struggling group of Price, Shannon Brown, Jared Dudley, Channing Frye, and Markieff Morris played well either, so it will not be surprising to hear news of changes.

Sat Jan 21 201201:52Price plays 29 minutes, invisible on offense
Ronnie Price started for the second straight game at shooting guard on Friday against the Celtics, but managed just six points on 2-of-7 shooting (2-of-4 from deep) with two rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block in 29 minutes.
The minutes were good and the stat line has some bright spots, but overall this line reflects how miscast he is at the shooting guard position. The Suns have won with this configuration, however, and Jared Dudley performed well as a backup -- so we expect it to continue on Monday against the Mavs.

Thu Jan 19 201200:06Ronnie Price fails to score in start at SG
Ronnie Price started at shooting guard for the Suns on Wednesday but failed to score in just 15 minutes.
Jared Dudley, whom he replaced, was also scoreless on 0-of-4 shooting in 17 minutes, while Shannon Brown had 14 points and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes. Price is undersized and a true point guard, so don't be surprised if the Suns give Brown a shot at shooting guard if the Price experiment fails.

Wed Jan 18 201218:46Ronnie Price gets starting nod at SG for PHX
Ronnie Price is starting at shooting guard for the Suns on Wednesday.
He'll bump Jared Dudley to the bench, but we still expect Dudley to get plenty of run even as a backup. Price is worth a speculative add in deeper leagues, but doesn't yet warrant an add in standard formats.

Sat Jan 14 201202:47Price scores 18 points with eight assists
Ronnie Price started at point guard for Steve Nash (back) out on Friday, scoring 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, eight assists, and two steals in 32 minutes.
If Nash doesn't play on Sunday against the Spurs, then Price will be an excellent spot-start and that's about it.

Fri Dec 23 201103:12Price appears to be backup point guard in PHO
Ronnie Price has won the Suns' backup PG job according to beat writer Paul Coro.
The backup to Steve Nash will always be worth monitoring given the Suns' up-tempo offense, but it remains to be seen if Price would keep the job to himself in the event of an injury. Sebastian Telfair is now the team's No. 3 PG.

Thu Dec 22 201111:14Ronnie Price likely to win backup PG job?
Ronnie Price has the edge over Sebastian Telfair in the competition to be Steve Nash's backup.
"He's performed well when he's been on the court & usually that earns you minutes," said Alvin Gentry when talking about Price. He fits what the Suns do slightly better because of his athleticism and speed, but won't have any fantasy value unless Nash rests or sustains an injury.

Sat Dec 17 201100:14Price and Telfair battling to a draw so far
Backup PGs Ronnie Price and Sebastian Telfair have battled to a draw so far for the Suns' No. 2 PG slot.
Price offers better defense and athleticism while Telfair can do more offensive, particularly with the pick-and-roll. Telfair has been slowing down the offense, however, and if that continues we see Price winning the job.

Ronnie Price would like to re-sign with the Jazz.
"This is family. I'm a loyal guy and I don't have any intentions of going anywhere else," Price said. He probably wouldn't cost much to retain if the Jazz expressed interest in retaining him, but there has been no indication of that yet.

Thu Apr 7 201112:57Price done for the season
Ronnie Price (calf, shin) admitted that he does not expect to play again this season.
Price would have gotten a chance to play thanks to Devin Harris' hamstring injury, but it wasn't to be. Utah's third point guard ends the season averaging 3.3 points and 1.0 assists in 59 appearances.

Tue Mar 29 201101:28Price hobbles out of locker room w/ hurt leg
Ronnie Price hobbled out of the Jazz's locker room on Monday with a lower leg injury, and finished the game with six points on 2-of-9 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 23 minutes.
Should the Jazz become disinterested with developing veteran Earl Watson, they could turn to playing Ronnie Price, but between this and his toe injury we're not optimistic about his health. Price has some intriguing athleticism, but for now we're calling him questionable for Friday's game vs. the Lakers.

Tue Mar 22 201101:47Price (toe) returns to action on Monday
Ronnie Price (toe) returned to action in Monday's game, scoring our points on 1-of-6 shooting with two rebounds and four assists in 20 minutes off the bench.
Devin Harris (hamstring) went down after just three minutes and sounds like he will miss games on Wednesday and Thursday, and as it stands Price and likely starter Earl Watson will split minutes during that span. As such, he belongs on waivers outside of the deepest formats.

Sat Mar 12 201112:44Ronnie Price (toe) out again on Saturday
Ronnie Price (toe) remains sidelined as the Jazz head into Chicago on Saturday.
Price is intent on being 100% healthy before he returns to action, and there is no indication when that might be. Raja Bell and C.J. Miles will continue absorbing a few extra minutes in his absence.

Wed Mar 9 201117:55Backup PG Price won't play Wednesday
Ronnie Price (toe) will miss another game on Wednesday.
The backup PG should be off the radar even in deeper formats after suiting up just one time in the last 10 games.
