Tue Apr 16 201301:10Luis Scola burns old team on Monday
Luis Scola burned his old team on Monday with 26 points, 15 boards and four assists on 11-of-16 shooting in 27 minutes.
The Rockets used the amnesty provision on Scola this past offseason and he came back to haunt them in what could be a costly loss. He's been improving lately and averaged 17.5 points and 10.5 boards in his previous four games. He should be starting in most formats on Wednesday.

Sat Apr 13 201323:09Luis Scola commits career-high eight TOs
Luis Scola finished Saturday's defeat with 14 points, nine rebounds, two steals and one block, though he also turned the ball over a career-high eight times.
The Wolves matched up small, playing Dante Cunningham at C, Derrick Williams at PF and Andrei Kirilenko at SF. The resulting length and athleticism gave Scola fits, but he still logged 35 minutes with backup center Jermaine O'Neal (shin) unavailable.

Wed Apr 10 201323:38Luis Scola stays hot in win over Mavs
Luis Scola made another start at center on Wednesday and had 11 points and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes.
He had 28 & 8 on Tuesday and looks like he's ready to finish up the season in strong fashion. This was just his 12th double-double of the season.

Wed Apr 10 201300:16Luis Scola scores 28 points in 38 minutes
Luis Scola looked good against his former team on Tuesday, scoring 28 points with eight boards, two assists, one steal and one block in 38 minutes against the Rockets.
He shot 12-of-20 from the field and it was the third game in a row in which he's shot at least 60 percent. Scola is basically the last man standing in the middle and Jermaine O'Neal (six points and six boards in 26 minutes) not able to log major minutes. Scola should be owned in almost all leagues.

Sun Apr 7 201323:58Luis Scola posts terrific line in loss to NOH
Luis Scola had 17 points, 10 boards, two assists, three steals, one block and zero turnovers in 34 minutes vs. the Hornets on Sunday.
The veteran big man knocked down 8-of-12 field goals and couldn't have done more for his team, which was already without Jermaine O'Neal (calf) and Marcin Gortat (foot). Scola has alternated big games with duds, and it's anyone's guess what he'll do vs. the Rockets on Tuesday.

Fri Apr 5 201309:21Luis Scola admits difficulties for Phoenix
Luis Scola admitted "it's hard" to play through a season like he has with the Suns this year.
Phoenix is an embarrassing mess and there are still no signs of anything that resembles a long-term plan. "It's not what I thought it was going to be," Scola said. The big man wants to be a part of the Suns turning it around because "the fans and the city deserve a different situation," but this roster was constructed by a front office that seems to be making decisions as they go rather than building and sticking to a long-term plan.

Sun Mar 31 201300:53Luis Scola held to eight points in 16 minutes
Luis Scola cooled off against the visiting Pacers, scoring eight points in just 16 minutes.
He averaged 22.5 points in his previous two games but he couldn't handle Roy Hibbert defensively tonight, and Jermaine O'Neal wound up logging 18 minutes off the bench. Lindsey Hunter won't be shy about benching his veterans down the stretch, and Scola's owners should check frequently for possible updates on his status.

Fri Mar 29 201300:28Luis Scola scores 25 points on nice shooting
Luis Scola shot 10-of-13 from the field for 25 points with seven boards, one steal and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against the Kings.
The Suns are out of ammunition on offense and the Scola is really the last reliable big man left. He's coming off a 33-minute, 20-point game on Wednesday and he's looking like a must-own player for owners that champion boards and points.

Thu Mar 28 201301:31Luis Scola scores 20 in start at center
Luis Scola started at center again on Wednesday and had 20 points, seven rebounds and a block on 8-of-18 shooting.
Scola has shown glimpses of greatness all season, but has never gotten consistent run at any position which has led to his production bouncing up and down like a yo-yo. He had eight points and one rebound in Sunday's start at center, so it's really a crapshoot when you put him into a fantasy lineup.

Mon Mar 25 201300:17Luis Scola struggles in 25 minutes
Luis Scola made another start at center on Sunday, but he played only 25 minutes and finished with eight points, one rebound, one assist and one block.
It's been a tough season for Scola, who has done his best to adjust to a bench role, wild swings in playing time, a rookie head coach, and the Suns' constant string of defeats. He averaged 14.0 points in his previous three games but he's been inconsistent all month, and he may not even start Wednesday's game with Jermaine O'Neal (calf) listed as day-to-day.

Sat Mar 23 201301:35Scola scores 17 points with 12 rebounds
Luis Scola scored 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting with 12 rebounds and a steal in Friday's blowout loss to the Wolves.
Scola has made some minor noise over the last week but with the Suns' three-game weeks from here on out it's understandable if he's not worth the hassle, even with Jermaine O'Neal (calf, flu) a question mark. The Suns are a total mess and you never know what you're going to get.

Tue Mar 19 201315:18Luis Scola sees minutes drop drastically
Luis Scola admitted that accepting his dwindling role has been "hard."
Over the last five games, Scola is playing just 17.8 minutes a night and has lost his starting job. The rebuilding Suns have wisely chosen to let Markieff Morris spread his wings as the starting power forward. Scola is not a real fantasy option right now.

Tue Mar 19 201301:56Luis Scola scores 14 in just 20 minutes
Luis Scola scored 14 points in just 20 minutes against the Lakers on Monday, adding nine boards, two assists and one 3-pointer.
He had 13 points in the fourth quarter, so this line is a little misleading. He did play well and perhaps the Suns get him in the game more often. Scola doesn't really have upside, though, so he's not quite worth owning in standard leagues. Markieff Morris was solid in another start with nine points, eight boards, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes, which makes him worth a look in standards.

Sat Mar 16 201321:39Luis Scola still limited in Suns' rotation
Luis Scola had seven points and four rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench on Saturday, as the Suns lost by 22 points to the Wizards.
With Jermaine O'Neal starting at center and the Morris brothers dominating minutes at PF, Scola has simply fallen out of the picture. He doesn't have enough upside to hold onto during the lean times, so don't hesitate to cut him.

Fri Mar 15 201322:52Luis Scola plays 13 minutes off the bench
Luis Scola came off the bench and played 13 minutes, scoring six points with two boards, one assist and one steal in Friday's 107-94 loss to Atlanta.
It certainly wasn't an encouraging sign to see him stink it up in his first game with the second unit. Scola doesn't really offer enough upside to deal with nonsense like this, so he's on the chopping block for some owners. Wes Johnson also struggled with six points in 20 minutes, but he's value didn't take too much of a hit.

Fri Mar 15 201312:45Luis Scola to come off the bench on Friday
Luis Scola will come off the bench on Friday.
Jermaine O'Neal will start at center in place of Scola, while Markieff Morris will continue to start at power forward. Scola managed averages of just 8.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 0.8 steals on 34.6 percent shooting in four games as the starting center, so Hunter will go with the veteran O'Neal with the hope that he can have a stronger presence inside.

Thu Mar 14 201300:39Luis Scola disappears in blowout loss
Luis Scola made another start at center on Wednesday but had just four points and four rebounds on 2-of-5 shooting in 14 minutes.
The Suns were destroyed by the Rockets and Scola wasn't helped by the return of Jermaine O'Neal. But the fact is that no Suns big man played well (at all) and Scola should bounce back as long as he continues to start. The final score was 111-81 in favor of the Rockets, so it's impossible to read too much into the Suns' disastrous box score tonight.

Tue Mar 12 201301:14Scola posts solid popcorn line vs. Nuggets
Luis Scola posted a solid popcorn line in Monday's loss to the Nuggets, scoring nine points on 2-of-7 shooting with 13 rebounds and six assists over 29 minutes in another start at center.
Scola's shooting and lack of steal or block highlight his fantasy problems, and consistency is going to be a problem for everybody in Phoenix. He's worth a look in standard formats, but he's not a must-own player until he can further prove his worth.

Sun Mar 10 201300:23Luis Scola plays just 16 minutes vs. Rockets
Luis Scola started but played only 16 minutes vs. his former team on Saturday, scoring six points on 1-of-6 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs, with four rebounds, two steals and one block.
Scola played 35 minutes on Friday but that's the lone instance in nine games that he's cracked 30 minutes, and Hamed Haddadi wound up getting most of the burn at center tonight. Lindsey Hunter called Scola and Haddadi the team's "anchors" until Jermaine O'Neal returns from a personal absence, and it's possible that Marcin Gortat (foot) is done for the year, but this is a tough situation to rely on for fantasy purposes.

Sat Mar 9 201303:27Scola posts 14-9-4 line; Dragic posts 17 & 16
Luis Scola started at center for the undermanned Suns on Friday, scoring 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting (6-of-6 FTs) with nine rebounds, four assists and one steal in 36 minutes.
Scola is going to get a boatload of minutes unless Lindsey Hunter goes crazy, because beyond Jermaine O'Neal he is the only guy that stands a chance down low against 3/4 of the league's centers. He should be owned in most formats now that he has flashed his worth in the new post-Gortat environment. Goran Dragic went for 17 and 16 with five steals in the loss.
