Wed Apr 13 201101:16Fernandez scores 18 points off the bench
Rudy Fernandez scored 18 points off the bench on Tuesday, hitting 5-of-6 shots from the field (including four threes) with one rebound, three assists, one steal, and one block in 28 minutes.
A game with the Warriors on Wednesday is about as good as it gets for a 3-point shooter, so give him a look if you need some treys.

Wed Mar 23 201101:23Fernandez can't find the touch in easy win
Rudy Fernandez hit just 4-of-12 shots from the field (1-of-7 from downtown) with four rebounds, one assist, and five turnovers in 26 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.
He's getting consistent burn off the bench, and while he isn't burning up the charts, he is worth a look if you're in a deeper league and in need of 3-point shooting.

Sun Mar 6 201101:13Rudy Fernandez returns from flu for 9 points
Rudy Fernandez returned from a bout with the flu on Saturday and had nine points, five assists and a three on 2-of-6 shooting.
The wing positions are a total logjam in Portland right now and Rudy is not a guy we'd want to own right now. Drop him for a hot free agent if you're holding on.

Fri Mar 4 201116:12Rudy Fernandez to return from flu on Fri.
Rudy Fernandez will return to action on Friday after missing two games with the flu.
Rudy's fantasy appeal has shriveled with the arrival of Gerald Wallace and the return of a (relatively) healthy Brandon Roy. He'll continue to bring limited amounts of 3-point shooting and energy off the bench.

Wed Mar 2 201121:03Rudy Fernandez a no-go for Blazers
Rudy Fernandez will not play on Wednesday due to the flu.
He was going to try, but isn't feeling well enough. Nate McMillan said earlier that he planned on starting a small lineup with Marcus Camby on the bench if Rudy was in, but we're not sure what his plans are now that Rudy is out.

Wed Mar 2 201114:13Rudy Fernandez rejoins Blazers in Sacramento
Rudy Fernandez has rejoined the Blazers after missing Tuesday's game due to the flu.
We haven't received official word whether he'll play, but his return to the team suggests that he at least has a good chance. We'll update his status as soon as an update becomes available.

Wed Mar 2 201103:29Rudy held out Tuesday due to the flu
Rudy Fernandez did not play on Tuesday due to the flu.
If you were using him during his hot streak, you can safely drop him with the Blazers stocked at the wing positions.

Tue Mar 1 201114:12Rudy Fernandez doubtful for Tuesday
Rudy Fernandez is now dobutful to play on Tuesday due to the flu, and was sent to the hospital for treatment.
This coincides with news that Patty Mills will rejoin the rotation and is expected to stay there the rest of the season. If you're in a deep league, keep an eye on Mills.

Mon Feb 28 201116:25Rudy Fernandez (flu) should play Tuesday
Rudy Fernandez was sent home from Monday's practice because he was ill, but he's expected to play vs. the Rockets on Tuesday.
Fernandez played 44 minutes on Saturday by default, as the Blazers were missing a slew of players, but even healthy he'll return to a reserve role.

Sat Feb 26 201104:38Rudy starts for injured Marcus Camby (knee)
Rudy Fernandez started as coach Nate McMillan went with a smaller lineup with Marcus Camby (knee) out, and scored 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including four treys) with six rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 44 minutes.
McMillan had no choice as his normal Camby replacement, Dante Cunningham, took his talents to Charlotte in the Gerald Wallace trade. With Camby's return right around the corner folks shouldn't get too excited about Rudy, but if you started him tonight you may want to tip your hat to yourself.
Fri Feb 25 201114:16Rudy Fernandez to start at SG on Friday
Rudy Fernandez will start at SG for the short-handed Blazers on Friday.
Marcus Camby is out with a knee injury and Gerald Wallace isn't expected to be cleared to play, forcing Nate McMillan to get very creative (Nicolas Batum will play backup center). If you own Rudy, this is an ideal time to plug him into your lineups.

Mon Feb 14 201123:17Rudy Fernandez scores 18 points vs. MIN
Rudy Fernandez scored 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including four treys) with three rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench on Monday.
He has had a number of good games in the past two weeks, but with Brandon Roy returning soon they're all for naught in fantasy leagues. Should Roy have a setback, Rudy could be worth a look, but for now he should be left on the wire.
Sun Feb 13 201121:20Rudy Fernandez flops in 24 minutes
Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez flopped in 24 minutes vs. the Pistons, scoring just four points on 2-of-8 shooting, with one rebound and one assist.
Fernandez had been red-hot in February and was averaging 19.3 points in the previous four games. He's a solid source of points, 3s, and even steals, but his production is in jeopardy with Brandon Roy set to return very soon.
Sat Feb 12 201100:17Rudy gets red-hot in the first half on Friday
Rudy Fernandez did all of his damage in the first half of Friday's game, hitting 8-of-8 FGs and all six 3-point attempts, and finishing with 23 points, one rebound, three assists, and three steals in 33 minutes off the bench.
He did very little in the second half, and because of that he'll get less hype on a busy Friday night. Either way, his value is muted with the eventual return of Brandon Roy, so owners should ignore this line in most cases.
Tue Feb 8 201103:44Fernandez scores 18 points, Roy coming back
Rudy Fernandez, who has been somewhat hot lately, scored 18 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound, two assists, and two steals in 34 minutes off the bench on Monday.
We'd be much more aggressive telling owners to add him if Brandon Roy wasn't supposed to return either Friday or Saturday. If Roy's return-game gets pushed back at all, Rudy could be worth a look in a spot-start, but even in deep leagues owners have to question how much Roy will cut into his time.
Sat Feb 5 201123:27Fernandez scores 17 points off the bench
Rudy Fernandez followed up his 19-point outing on Friday with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including two threes), three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 27 minutes off the bench.
He has been inconsistent all year and failed to cash in opportunities, but he's worth a look with the Blazers so banged up right now. We still wouldn't drop him for a consistent performer, but if you have dead weight he's certainly worth an add.
Fri Feb 4 201123:22Fernandez scores 19 points against Pacers
Rudy Fernandez scored 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block in 37 minutes off the bench on Friday.
We've told readers to watch him closely after Wesley Matthews' injury on Wednesday, and Rudy did his part tonight, while Matthews hobbled through 35 minutes. Rudy is worth a look in standard formats, but unless Matthews goes out or Rudy keeps this up he shouldn't be added in place of a consistent performer.
Thu Feb 3 201103:13Rudy wants to sign long-term with Blazers
Rudy Fernandez, who scored six points on Wednesday, says he no longer wants to be traded, and wants to sign long-term with Portland.
"Right now, I feel good here," he said. "I feel good in the city and the team." We're guessing that Bradon Roy's injury and the impending lockout helped changed his mind, but he's only going to offer real fantasy value if Nicolas Batum or Wesley Matthews go down. Matthews tried to hurt himself tonight, but somehow played through a pair of injuries suffered in the game.

Wed Feb 2 201101:26Fernandez hits just 1-of-6 shots in win
Rudy Fernandez hit just 1-of-6 shots from the field on Tuesday, scoring three points with three rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes off the bench.
He was added in a few leagues when Nicolas Batum went down, but has mostly wasted his opportunity to excel with Brandon Roy out for most of the year. He can be dropped in most formats for a hot free agent until he shows us something.
