Fri Jan 10 201417:17Bulls sign Cartier Martin to 10-day
Bulls sign G/F Cartier Martin.
It's just a 10-day deal for Martin after the Hawks released him on Monday and he'll serve as emergency depth. The Bulls seem comfortable giving Jimmy Butler, Mike Dunleavy and Tony Snell the majority of the minutes on the wing, so Martin's fantasy value is very low while those three are active.

Tue Jan 7 201417:20Hawks waive G/F Cartier Martin
Hawks waive G/F Cartier Martin.
With Lou Williams healthy and Shelvin Mack stepping up in the backcourt, the Hawks had little incentive to keep Martin around on a guaranteed deal. He was shooting 40.5 percent from downtown this season and may earn a spot as a perimeter gunner on another team's roster.

Tue Dec 31 201316:03Cartier Martin (ankle) back after eight DNPs
Cartier Martin (ankle) returned to action on Tuesday with six points, one rebound, one steal and three turnovers in 14 minutes off the Hawks' bench.
He scored his points on a pair of 3-pointers and it's nice to see him recovered after missing the past eight games, but fantasy owners should continue to avoid him. He's shooting just 40.3 percent on the season and has more turnovers (22) than combined assists (17) and blocks (four).

Thu Dec 26 201318:13Cartier Martin (ankle) could return Thursday
Cartier Martin will be in uniform for Thursday's game, even though his sprained ankle is still sore.
It's up to coach Mike Budenholzer whether or not Martin will actually play on Thursday, and his limited role off the bench makes him a non-entity for fantasy purposes.

Thu Dec 26 201312:21Cartier Martin (ankle) questionable for Thurs
Cartier Martin (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Cavaliers will be re-evaluated later in the day.
"He is getting closer," coach Mike Budenholzer said. Martin hasn't played since December 10th and has missed six consecutive games, but that shouldn't affect fantasy owners as he's not worth owning in anything but the very deepest of leagues.

Mon Dec 23 201312:03Cartier Martin (ankle) to miss fifth straight
Cartier Martin (ankle) will sit out for the fifth straight game vs. Miami on Monday.
His absence means a few extra minutes for John Jenkins and Lou Williams, but it shouldn't impact fantasy lineups since he's not on standard-league rosters anyway.

Fri Dec 20 201310:13Cartier Martin (ankle) doubtful for Friday
Cartier Martin (ankle) has been listed as doubtful on the Hawks morning injury report for Friday's game against Utah.
Martin had a nice string of games at the end of November, but his latest injury puts him back in the category of fantasy irrelevant. Friday would be his fifth straight missed game and he has now been surpassed on the depth chart by a healthy Kyle Korver and Lou Williams. For the time being, Martin has no fantasy value unless Korver and/or Williams gets injured again.

Wed Dec 18 201311:41Cartier Martin (ankle) won't play vs. Kings
Cartier Martin (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings.
Martin hasn't done anything since Kyle Korver (ribs) returned to action, and he won't be a fantasy option as long as Korver and Lou Williams (knee) are healthy. Consider him day-to-day with his ankle injury.

Sat Nov 30 201321:42Cartier Martin scores 12 in loss to Wizards
Cartier Martin started in place of Kyle Korver (ribs) on Saturday and had 12 points, five rebounds, a block and two 3-pointers in a loss to the Wizards.
Martin hit 4-of-7 shots and was serviceable in daily leagues, but keep in mind that Lou Williams started over him in the previous game. Williams was being held out for a precaution tonight, so Martin got the call.

Sat Nov 30 201318:11Cartier Martin to start at SG vs. Washington
Cartier Martin will start at SG on Saturday, with both Kyle Korver (ribs) and Lou Williams (knee, rest) out of the lineup.
Martin drained four 3-pointers on his way to 15 points in 33 minutes during a start on Wednesday, but he also had zero rebounds, assists, steals or blocks in that game. Consider him a perimeter specialist with temporary appeal in certain formats.

Thu Nov 28 201301:51Cartier Martin scores 14 in start for Hawks
Cartier Martin started in place of Kyle Korver (bruised ribs) Wednesday and had 14 points, four 3-pointers and not much else in 33 minutes.
Martin has had some nice games at times this season, but with Korver's injury not serious, and DeMarre Carroll still holding down the starting SF job, the window should close quickly on Martin's potential fantasy value.

Wed Nov 27 201318:43Cartier time: Martin starts for Hawks Wed.
Cartier Martin will start at shooting guard for the Hawks on Wednesday night.
Kyle Korver isn't playing tonight, so the Hawks will move Martin into his spot. Martin was hot two weeks ago with 13- and 16-point games on Nov. 11 and 13, respectively, but hasn't topped seven points since. He should get some looks from downtown tonight for a team lacking perimeter options. That said, he's a very risky play in deep leagues. John Jenkins and Dennis Schroder will also help alleviate the loss of Korver and Lou Williams tonight.

Sat Nov 16 201300:11Martin falls off with Sweet Lou back
Cartier Martin played just 12 minutes on Friday with Lou Williams back in the lineup.
Martin had just two rebounds and his 0-for-6 mark didn't help his cause either. If you had been relying on Martin in deep formats it's okay to move on to a hot free agent.

Mon Nov 11 201321:59Cartier Martin scores 16 points with three 3s
Cartier Martin scored 16 points off the bench on Monday against the Bobcats, hitting 5-of-7 shots (including three treys) with three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes.
DeMarre Carroll is the safer play between the two and had five points, 10 boards, one block and one three, but Martin is also cruising along with late-round value, himself. Give him a look in 12-team leagues but he's certainly a better option in deeper formats at this time.

Thu Nov 7 201323:47Cartier Martin lays a goose egg
Cartier Martin missed all seven of his field goal attempts, scoring one point from the line with three rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes on Thursday.
He took some horrible shots tonight. Martin was put in isolation a couple times and he took some long-range two-point shots that really had no chance of going in. He was picking up some momentum for minutes, but he'll need to improve over the weekend to make up the ground he's lost over the past couple games.

Mon Nov 4 201300:09Cartier Martin starts the second half
Cartier Martin started the second half and played 28 minutes against the Lakers on Sunday, finishing with nine points, four boards, three assists and three 3-pointers.
He seems to have leapfrogged DeMarre Carroll for minutes at small forward for now. Martin has popped up here and there during his career due to the Wizards dealing with injuries, but with the Hawks lack of depth on the wing, he'll have a chance to contribute. He's on the radar in deep leagues.

Thu Oct 31 201300:37Cartier Martin scores 17 off Hawks bench
Cartier Martin came off the bench and hit 4-of-8 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points in just 17 minutes in Wednesday's loss.
Martin was instant offense tonight, but it's hard to see this happening on a regular basis. Unless you're in a 20-team league, ignore him for now.

Tue Oct 15 201316:48Hawks sign Cartier Martin to a deal on Tues.
The Hawks signed Cartier Martin to a non-fully guaranteed contract Tuesday.
He was rumored to go over to China for the upcoming season, but may want to give it one more chance stateside. Martin has a shot to make the team, but will not be in the rotation while the team is healthy.

Sat Aug 17 201323:02Cartier Martin could end up in China
Unrestricted free agent Cartier Martin is considering playing in China this upcoming season.
He had a decent season with the Wizards in 2012-13, scoring at least 14 points in seven games. The Wizards dealt with a handful of injuries and they've revamped their guards and small forward spots this offseason, so Martin's services may not be needed.

Mon Apr 15 201322:30Cartier Martin hits four 3-pointers Monday
Cartier Martin hit four 3-pointers against the Nets on Monday, scoring 14 points with eight boards in 32 minutes.
The Wizards are running out of bodies on the wing with Martell Webster (abdomen), Trevor Ariza (knee) and Bradley Beal (ankle) down for the count. If you're desperate for threes, he's worth a look for Wednesday.
