Sat Dec 28 201322:25Nene continues to come off bench for Wiz
Nene came off the bench again on Saturday and had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in just 19 minutes.
The Wizards crushed the Pistons and took the opportunity to get Nene some rest. He loses some appeal as long as he's not starting and with the team managing his minutes, but should probably at least be stashed on benches in case he moves back into the starting unit at some point.

Sat Dec 28 201300:25Nene plays well off bench on Friday
Nene came off the bench again on Friday with 13 points and five boards in 22 minutes.
The Wizards have been managing his minutes in his last three games and he's been good enough to perhaps get more minutes. In his last three, Nene averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 boards and 1.3 steals on 53.8 percent from the field. He's worth owning in standard leagues until he inevitably needs to miss time again.

Sat Dec 21 201315:54Nene posts all-around line in just 23 minutes
Nene piled up 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block without any turnovers on Saturday, despite playing just 23 minutes off the bench.
The limited minutes, at least for now, may actually be a blessing if they prevent Nene from aggravating his injuries. His presence is an obvious catalyst for the Wizards, who have a 12-13 record but are just 1-6 without Nene.

Fri Dec 20 201313:45Nene (achilles) misses Friday practice
Nene (achilles) missed Friday's practice due to precautionary measures.
Though both Nene and Bradley Beal missed practice on Friday, this sounds like more of an issue of preservation rather than injury re-aggravation. We'll update Nene's status in advance of Saturday afternoon's game against the Celtics, but Trevor Booker would see a bump in value if Nene is unable to play.

Wed Dec 18 201323:58Nene returns for 17 points, 3 boards
Nene returned from a sore Achilles on Wednesday and hit 6-of-10 shots for 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 23 minutes.
Trevor Booker started and had seven points, 13 rebounds, two steals and a block in 24 minutes, but it's hard to see him keeping that up once Nene gets back in a groove, as well as the starting lineup. Marcin Gortan also wasn't bothered by Nene's return and had 10 points, 10 rebounds and a block in 30 minutes. Nene looks like a must-own player again, but now that the injury window has been opened for Nene, we will constantly be wondering when his next one is coming.

Wed Dec 18 201318:14Nene will only play 'spot minutes' vs. BK
Nene (Achilles) will only play "spot minutes" against the Nets on Wednesday night.
He's missed four games with soreness in his Achilles and has allowed Trevor Booker to log two double-doubles in that span. The two will likely share most of the minutes tonight, making neither a great start against a suddenly improved Nets defense.

Wed Dec 18 201312:37Nene (Achilles) probable to return Wednesday
Nene (Achilles) went through shootaround without any setbacks and he's probable for Wednesday's game.
The Wizards have struggled all season without Nene, going a combined 1-6 in his absence despite some impressive games by fill-in PF Trevor Booker. His minutes may be curtailed in his first game back, but patient owners can feel reasonably safe plugging him into active lineups.

Wed Dec 18 201309:49Nene (Achilles) intends to play Wednesday
Nene (right Achilles) will play on Wednesday unless he has a setback during the Wizards' shootaround.
"I just been doing everything I could to feel better. I've seen progress," Nene said. "I feel much, much better. It's a step. A day-by-day step and reduce the pain. I'm ready to go." The Wizards have struggled all season without Nene, going a combined 1-6 in his absence despite some impressive games by fill-in PF Trevor Booker. Fantasy owners should confirm Nene's availability prior to tip-off on Wednesday.

Tue Dec 17 201313:26Nene practices and is putting in extra work
Nene (foot) practiced on Tuesday, and is nearing a return.
The Wizards are hopeful that Nene will be able to return for Wednesday's game vs. Brooklyn, and it's a good sign that he's been able to practice without any setbacks. Trevor Booker has been nice in Nene's absence, however he won't be worth owning upon Nene's return. Check back for more updates as we get closer to tip-off on Wednesday.

Sat Dec 14 201317:41Nene (foot) out again Saturday vs. Clippers
Nene (foot) will sit out Saturday's game vs. the Clippers.
Trevor Booker is coming off a massive performance on Friday and remains a solid fill-in PF for fantasy owners, though the clock is ticking for his value with Nene day-to-day.

Fri Dec 13 201318:37Nene won't play against the Hawks
Nene (Achilles) will not play against the Hawks on Friday.
He could miss several games and Friday serves as his second game in a row on the sidelines. Nene is great while he's active, but he misses enough games for owners in shallower leagues to consider cutting him. Trevor Booker will pick up most of the slack.

Fri Dec 13 201315:23Nene, Brad Beal miss Friday's shootaround
Nene (Achilles) and Bradley Beal (leg) did not go through shootaround on Friday and are not expected to play against the Hawks.
He missed Monday's game and Nene could be looking at a multiple-game absence. He admitted that he's been suffering from injuries and the Wizards are probably going to allow him to get healthy. Trevor Booker is coming off a double-double and figures to benefit in the stat sheet on Friday.

Fri Dec 13 201311:20Nene listed as questionable for Friday's game
Nene (Achilles) is listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. Atlanta.
Nene has been very good this season when he's been on the court, so owners will need to check back closer to tip-off for an official word. If Nene is unable to go, expect Trevor Booker to gobble up his minutes.

Thu Dec 12 201313:19Nene (achilles) questionable for Friday
Nene (achilles) practiced lightly on Thursday and is questionable for Friday's game against the Hawks.
After saying he needed to "step back and walk away a little bit", it is a silver lining see that Nene is even questionable for Friday's game. He has only missed one game since making that ominous statement, so his owners may soon have the 31-year-old back and available to deploy. Nene has played well when healthy this season, so he is worth holding onto to see how this situation plays out. Trevor Booker will continue to see an uptick in his minutes if Nene continues to miss time and is a solid spot-start in most leagues.

Wed Dec 11 201313:05Nene (heel) doesn't practice Wednesday
Nene (heel, Achilles) did not practice on Wednesday, leaving his status for Friday's game up in the air.
We're inclined to think that Nene is closer to 'doubtful' than 'questionable' to play the Hawks, considering his recent statement that he needs to "step back and ... walk away a little bit" to allow his chronic injuries to fully heal. He's still listed as day-to-day, and owners should check for updates on Thursday.

Mon Dec 9 201317:34Nene isn't playing against his former team
Nene will not play against the Nuggets on Monday.
He was not expected to play and had an ominous statement over the weekend saying he had been "suffering" for much of the season. Nene is one of the more injury-prone players in the NBA, but he's put up big numbers while he's active. Trevor Booker will likely pick up much of the slack and is worth a look as a spot-start. Jan Vesely will also likely get in foul trouble tonight.

Mon Dec 9 201312:19Nene (Achilles) unlikely to play Monday
The Wizards do not expect Nene (Achilles, foot) to play against the Nuggets on Monday.
He said recently that he's been "suffering" through injuries all season and needs to "take a step back" so that he can fully heal. That's an ominous quote for fantasy owners, given his prodigious injury history, but he's officially listed as day-to-day.

Sat Dec 7 201315:52Nene (Achilles) 'suffering', iffy for Monday
Nene (Achilles, foot, leg) said on Saturday that he is "suffering" and wants to take his time with the injuries.
"I need to step back and I need to walk away a little bit," said Nene, who has been fighting through injuries all season. He left Friday's game with 'right foot tendinitis' that may have been related to his ongoing Achilles injury. If he's forced to sit out Monday's game, which is a real possibility, Chris Singleton and Trevor Booker will take over the bulk of his playing time.

Fri Dec 6 201320:48Nene (foot) out for game on Friday night
Nene went to the locker room in the third quarter of Friday's game due to right foot tendinitis and will not return
He was dealing with right Achilles tendinitis last month, so it's not too far-fetched to assume he aggravated his injury. Considering how often Nene is hurt, there's a good chance he misses Monday's game against his former team, the Nuggets. Trevor Booker should pick up most of the minutes while Nene is out. Jan Vesely could also get some playing time. Nene finished with 10 points, two boards, two assists, two steals and one block.
