Wed Nov 5 201419:08Splitter (calf) will get start at center Wednesday
Splitter (calf) will get the start at center Wednesday, Project Spurs' Paul Garcia reports.
He missed the entire preseason and the first two games of the regular season with the calf injury, but should return to playing 18-28 minutes per game for the Spurs at center.

Splitter (calf) practiced Monday and is probable to return for Wednesday's game, the San Antonio Express-News' Mike Monroe reports.
Splitter has yet to play this season, but should make his season debut Wednesday against the Hawks. However, he won't see a starter's workload, and is therefore best reserved for deeper leagues.
Wed Oct 29 201400:13Splitter (back/calf) won't play Friday
Splitter (back/calf) won't play Friday, Dan McCarney of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
This means the soonest we could see Splitter take the court would be Nov. 5, and that's probably a little too optimistic. Matt Bonner got the start Tuesday in his place, but played just 15 minutes, with Boris Diaw (33) and Aron Baynes (18) both seeing more frontcourt minutes off the bench.
Tue Oct 28 201418:29Splitter now dealing with back ailment
Splitter, who has already been ruled out Tuesday with a calf strain, is now dealing with a back ailment, the San Antonio Express-News' Jeff McDonald reports.
Splitter isn't the only Spurs' starter who will miss Tuesday's season opener, as Kawhi Leonard (eye) is also out, but Leonard is definitely closer to returning to action. There's no official timetable for Splitter's return, but he could miss a week or more. Matt Bonner will start at center Tuesday, but Boris Diaw is also likely to figure prominently in the frontcourt.

Splitter (calf) won't take the court in Tuesday's season opener against the Mavericks, Project Spurs reports.
Splitter was confined to the trainer's room during the preseason, which was spurred by a strained right soleus muscle. The Spurs seem to be exercising their usual brand of precaution with the long haul in mind, but he'll be joined on the bench by Kawhi Leonard (eye) and Patty Mills (shoulder). Splitter's next chance to play arrives Friday in Phoenix, but owners shouldn't hold out hope that his season debut is imminent.

Splitter (calf) seems unlikely to be ready to take the court for the season opener, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
The report stated that coach Gregg Popovich "seems resigned" to starting the season without Splitter, which would mean that the backup center will likely be out at least until the Oct. 31 game against the Suns.

Splitter (calf) is unlikely to suit up for Wednesday's preseason game versus the Hawks, the San Antonio Express-News reports. Speaking of his starting center, coach Gregg Popovich said, "I don't know when he's going to be ready. Hopefully by the time the season starts [on Tuesday]."
If he fails to take the court Wednesday, Splitter will have one opportunity remaining to make his presence felt in an exhibition before tipping off the regular season against the Mavericks. At the moment, no time line exists for his return to action.
Sat Oct 18 201419:15Splitter (calf) will not play in Saturday's preseason game again...
Splitter (calf) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against Miami, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Splitter is still hobbled by a strained calf muscle, and at this point, it seems like something that could keep at less than 100 percent entering the regular season. The 29-year-old was to be re-evaluated earlier this week, but that evaluation did not yield a set timetable for his return, at least not one that was made public.

Splitter (calf) won't travel with team for Thursday's game in Phoenix, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
He was supposed to be reevaluated last week, and presumably they have not yet cleared him to return to game action. It's something that could slow him for the rest of the exhibition season, and it could even linger into the start of the regular season.

Splitter (calf) is dealing with a strained right soleus muscle and will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
This is the first we're hearing of the injury, and it's tough to decipher just how serious it is. The 7-10 day reevaluation timetable suggests Splitter could miss significant time during training camp and the preseason.
Fri Jun 20 201409:32Tiago Splitter will play in FIBA World Cup
Tiago Splitter confirmed he will play at the FIBA World Cup this summer.
He played fantastic basketball in the playoffs, making 61.0 percent of his shots from the field. Splitter had a whopping 78.7 percent of his baskets come off an assist, so he's certainly being maximized by coach Gregg Popovich.

Sun Jun 8 201423:30Tiago Splitter quiet in Spurs' Game 2 defeat
Tiago Splitter started again for the Spurs during Game 2, finishing with two points, six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 19 minutes.
Splitter exceeded five assists in only two regular-season games and his contributions through two Finals games have been crucial for the Spurs, who are looking to avenge their loss to the Heat in 2013. Splitter found himself watching from the bench down the stretch of Game 2, however, as the Spurs matched Miami's small-ball lineups with Tim Duncan and Boris Diaw in the frontcourt. For NBA fans, there are few greater pleasures than watching tit-for-tat lineup and rotation tweaks from two preeminent coaches on the league's biggest stage.

Sat Jun 7 201414:37Tiago Splitter makes a joke about block
Tiago Splitter said about his block of LeBron James at the rim in Game 1 that he "didn't see that on ESPN."
This isn't really news or anything, but it's a nice attempt at humor. You may have seen LeBron's block of Splitter in Game 2 of the 2013 NBA Finals about 30 times, but Splitter has the last laugh for now. He played very well in Game 1 and is almost a lock to start the rest of the way after falling off in the OKC series.

Fri Jun 6 201400:23Tiago Splitter shines in starting lineup
Tiago Splitter moved back into the starting lineup for Game 1's win over the Heat on Thursday, shooting 5-of-6 from the field for 14 points, four boards and two blocks in 23 minutes.
On the down side, he will be getting a call from the league office for one of the most egregious flops in recent memory after LeBron James shoved him. Splitter was open for a lot of easy shots at the rim as the defense collapsed and clearly the extra size up front paid dividends. After moving to the bench at the end of the OKC series, Splitter will be in the starting lineup for Game 2 on Sunday.

Thu Jun 5 201421:00Tiago Splitter back in the starting lineup
Tiago Splitter is back in the starting lineup for the Spurs for Game 1 on Thursday.
He was bumped to the bench in favor of Matt Bonner as the Spurs countered Serge Ibaka getting back on the court. Splitter was terrific in the first two rounds of the playoffs, so he'll be an important piece to controlling the paint vs. Miami.

Sat May 31 201420:14Tiago Splitter listed as a starter
Tiago Splitter is listed as a starter for Saturday's Game 6 in place of Matt Bonner.
This is not an official lineup and coach Gregg Popovich could wind up changing it. He said his lineup "is not rocket science" before the game, which may have been a subtle trick about Matt "Red Rocket" Bonner. In other words, all bets are off and you probably jus.

Wed May 28 201418:40Tiago Splitter gets a $5,000 fine for flop
Tiago Splitter has been fined $5,000 for flopping in Game 4 on Tuesday.
It was an obvious flop against Serge Ibaka. Worst yet, Splitter has been horrible vs. the Thunder, which comes as a surprise after he played very well in the first two rounds of the postseason. If the Spurs do shake things up with their starting lineup, he's the most likely to be moved to the bench. The video of the flop is attached in the link below.

Mon Apr 14 201418:57Tiago Splitter will not play on Monday
Tiago Splitter will not play against the Rockets on Monday due to rest.
He's seen quite a bit of rest down the stretch and has battled some injuries this season. After a nice season in 2012-13, Splitter regressed a bit this year. He can be cut in all leagues.

Thu Apr 3 201423:19Tiago Splitter comes off bench in 2nd half
Tiago Splitter came off the bench in the second half of Thursday's loss to the Thunder, finishing with two points three boards, two assists, one steal and one block.
He wasn't in foul trouble and this may have been a matchup move from coach Gregg Popovich. Splitter has been Popped a couple times in the last 10 days, so there was concern of the coach possibly just sitting his big man out in the second half for a partial-Pop. He's still not worth owning in any league even before taking into account how he's shuffled in and out of the lineup.

Wed Apr 2 201420:43Tiago Splitter coming off bench, Diaw starts
Boris Diaw is starting in place of Tiago Splitter on Wednesday vs. the Warriors.
The last two times Splitter was pulled from the starting lineup, he did not play against the Sixers last Monday and Saturday vs. the Pelicans. It could be a case of the Pops or it could be a matchup play.
