Sun Mar 30 201400:16Tiago Splitter gets a DNP-CD
Tiago Splitter received a DNP-CD on Saturday.
He's actually played very well for the Spurs and it looks like he earned himself some rest. For what it's worth, coach Gregg Popovich said everyone was available to play tonight. Obviously, that's not worth much. Splitter owners can probably expect another one of these soon.

Thu Mar 27 201402:09Tiago Splitter plays 29 minutes in return
Tiago Splitter played 29 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday with 10 points, four boards, five assists and one steal.
He was a surprise DNP-CD on Monday against the Sixers and coach Gregg Popovich threw him right back into the fire tonight. Splitter has regressed a bit this season from his impressive 2012-13 campaign and is not worth owing in standard leagues right now.

Tue Mar 25 201415:37Tiago Splitter will return for Spurs on Wed.
As expected, Tiago Splitter will return to action on Wednesday after getting one game off to rest.
"Tiago has been doing yeoman's work underneath the last two, three, four games as far as having to be banging around with those big guys," said Gregg Popovich. "It was great to give ... his body a little bit of a rest. It worked out well." Splitter hasn't averaged more than 22 minutes per game in any month this season, and Popovich's scrupulous management of his playing time makes him a lousy fantasy center in most formats. In 49 games this season, Splitter is averaging 8.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.6 blocks.

Tue Mar 25 201401:27Tiago Splitter did not play on Monday
Tiago Splitter was a DNP-CD against the Sixers on Monday.
He just got the normal Gregg Popovich rest tonight and the coach confirmed it after the game. Pop has driven fantasy owners up a wall for a decade and nobody should be shocked he kept Splitter on the bench. He should be ready for Wednesday's game vs. the Nuggets.

Sun Mar 23 201401:26Tiago Splitter goes off without Tim Duncan
Tiago Splitter hit 6-of-10 shots for 17 points, 14 rebounds, a steal and a block in Saturday's win.
Tim Duncan was out and Splitter enjoyed having the paint to himself tonight. He also had 11 points and 11 rebounds on Friday and has been rolling for four straight games. Get him in your lineup if you need a center.

Sat Mar 22 201403:01Splitter double-doubles against the Kings
Tiago Splitter double-doubled against the Kings on Friday, scoring 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting with 11 rebounds and one block in 21 minutes.
Splitter is on a bit of a roll over the last three games with averages of 11.7 points, 9.7 boards and 2.0 blocks while hitting 71.4 percent of his shots. The Kings are terrible defensively in their frontcourt and he also double-doubled against the lowly Jazz. He's worth a look if you need a big man and though he profiles like a guy that could get run while others rest, you never know with Pop.

Sun Mar 16 201421:38Tiago Splitter double-doubles vs. Jazz Sunday
Tiago Splitter notched his third double-double of the season vs. Utah, scoring 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking two shots.
He now has two double-doubles in the Spurs' past three games, though his lousy FT shooting and usual lack of assists and blocks make him a poor option for fantasy purposes. Just keep an eye on him in case veterans like Tim Duncan or Boris Diaw are given a few nights off for rest in the near future.

Tue Mar 11 201423:40Tiago Splitter limited by fouls vs. Chicago
Tiago Splitter picked up a few quick fouls on Tuesday and never got going vs. the Bulls, finishing scoreless with one rebound in 14 minutes of action.
He was coming off a 14-point effort on Saturday but this line should drive home how risky he is for fantasy owners, given his limited role offensively and the fact that he's averaging just 21 minutes in March. Opportunistic owners scouring the waiver wire for rebounds and blocks should keep an eye on Splitter in the coming weeks, however, as some precautionary DNPs may be in store for Tim Duncan.

Sat Mar 8 201423:27Tiago Splitter scores 14 in start for Spurs
Tiago Splitter returned to the starting lineup on Saturday (sorry, Boris Diaw) and hit 5-of-9 shots for 14 points, six rebounds and a block in 18 minutes.
The minutes weren't great, but his line was decent. You never know how many minutes Splitter will get from Gregg Popovich every night, or what his role will be. He's probably worth owning in most leagues, but is far from an automatic fantasy starter, whether he's starting for the Spurs or coming off the bench.

Sat Mar 8 201420:21Tiago Splitter back in the starting lineup
Tiago Splitter will move back into the starting lineup to face the Magic on Saturday.
Boris Diaw will move back to the bench and this move is nothing new for the Spurs. Splitter has 34 starts this season and has come off the bench seven times. His numbers are a little better with the starters, but he's still not doing enough to warrant a pickup in most leagues.

Thu Mar 6 201423:36Tiago Splitter scores seven off bench
Tiago Splitter was benched in favor of Boris Diaw Thursday, as the Heat don't play a traditional center.
The move paid off as starter Boris Diaw posted a big line, while Splitter had just seven points, four rebounds and a block off the bench. He has more starts coming in his future, but he's only worth using in fantasy when the Spurs are playing against a team starting a true center. And the Heat are not one of those teams.

Thu Feb 27 201401:50Tiago Splitter plays well in win over Pistons
Tiago Splitter had 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a block on 6-of-11 shooting in Wednesday's win.
Splitter had been out with a calf injury but is playing pretty well again, averaging 11.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists over his last three games. We still don't fully trust Splitter, but as long as he can stay healthy and in the starting lineup, he's worth owning again in most leagues.

Thu Feb 20 201402:03Tiago Splitter scores 15 in return to action
Tiago Splitter returned from a calf/shin injury on Wednesday and had 15 points, six rebounds, a steal and zero blocks in 26 minutes.
Splitter had only appeared in six games since December due to various injuries, but his 15 points are his third highest total of the entire season. He looked good tonight, but keep in mind Tim Duncan was out and that Splitter came in averaging just 8.1 points on the season. He might be worth a pick up in deeper leagues, but we don't expect him to score like he did tonight on a regular basis.

Wed Feb 19 201420:55Tiago Splitter (calf) will start vs. Blazers
Tiago Splitter will start against the Blazers on Wednesday night.
He's been out of the lineup for four straight games with his calf/shin injury and should be busy against the Blazers with Tim Duncan out tonight. Splitter has put up some big lines on nights without Duncan before, but the injury risk makes him a bit of a risky play. He'll start next to Cory Joseph, Marco Belinelli, Danny Green and Boris Diaw.

Tue Feb 18 201421:09Tiago Splitter ruled out vs. Clippers
Tiago Splitter's calf/shin injury will keep him out against the Clippers on Tuesday.
He's been banged up for a while now and is still listed as day-to-day. Boris Diaw will benefit the most from his absence, at least in theory.

Tue Feb 18 201409:06Tiago Splitter (calf) uncertain to play Tue.
Tiago Splitter (bruised calf) is questionable to play vs. the Clippers on Tuesday.
Splitter missed the Spurs' three games prior to the All-Star break and hasn't played since injuring himself on Feb. 6. The safest course of action is to bench him until we've seen him in action, as his season averages don't lend themselves to gambling -- 8.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.5 blocks in 22 minutes per game.

Tue Feb 11 201415:32Tiago Splitter (calf) out again Wednesday
Tiago Splitter (bruised calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Boston.
This makes three straight DNPs for Splitter. He should be close to 100 percent recovered when San Antonio returns to action on Feb. 18, and projects as a low-end fantasy center after the All-Star break, with a bit of upside in case the Spurs begin resting Tim Duncan more often as the playoffs creep into view.

Mon Feb 10 201413:34Tiago Splitter (bruised calf) out vs. Pistons
Tiago Splitter's bruised calf will sideline him for a second straight game on Monday.
The Spurs survived his absence vs. the Bobcats on Saturday, but they'll face an even bigger challenge on Monday against the Pistons (under new interim coach John Loyer). Boris Diaw and Tim Duncan will do most of the heavy lifting in the frontcourt, with Jeff Ayres, Matt Bonner and Aron Baynes as their spotters.

Sat Feb 8 201417:57Tiago Splitter out Saturday w/ bruised calf
Tiago Splitter (bruised right calf) will not play on Saturday.
His injury comes at a poor time for the Spurs, as they're up against dominant Bobcats center Al Jefferson, but at least they'll welcome back Tim Duncan (rest) and Boris Diaw (food poisoning) to the lineup. Splitter is day-to-day.

Sat Feb 8 201412:25Tiago Splitter (bruised calf) game-time Sat.
Tiago Splitter's status for Saturday's game is uncertain due to a bruised calf.
He's listed as a game-time decision. In four games since returning from a shoulder injury, Splitter is averaging just 5.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 blocks in 24 minutes per game. Those stats aren't helping typical fantasy owners, and Gregg Popovich's penchant for mix-and-matched lineups makes Splitter even harder to like when he's less than 100 percent healthy.
