Cole is questionable to return with a dislocated middle finger on his left hand.
Cole was slated for big minutes with Dwayne Wade out Thursday, but now Shabazz Napier and Mario Chalmers will likely garner more until or if he returns.

Cole had 2 points off 1-of-6 shooting to go along with 4 rebounds and 1 assist against the Hornets on Wednesday.
It looks like giving Cole the role of starting point guard has been more than he can handle. After his nice debut against the Wizards, it looks like Norris Cole has completely fallen off. It doesn't look like it can get any worse, but abandoning ship is understandable with him.

Cole's shot wasn't falling on Sunday and as a result he put up a line that left a lot to be desired. He ended the day with five points, three assists, and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes against Toronto.
Since Cole's 23 point outburst to begin the season he has cooled off significantly and put up pedestrian numbers. He's still a player to watch as long as he's getting the minutes to deserve it. However, it's worth noting that Mario Chalmers finished with 24 minutes and Shabazz Napier earned 17 minutes in the win. Continue to monitor the minutes distribution going forward.

Cole scored 23 points (9-15 FG, 3-7 3P, 2-2 FT) with three rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Wizards.
He didn't put up big distribution numbers as the Heat's starting point guard, but Cole was more than productive enough to keep the job for the time being. If he's available on your waiver wire, consider stashing him on your roster as long as he continues to see big minutes.
Tue Oct 28 201421:48Cole will start Wednesday's opener against Wizards
Cole will start Wednesday's opener against the Wizards, Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald reports.
Cole quietly beat out Mario Chalmers for the starting point guard spot during camp, and he'll hold onto it for the foreseeable future. The question now becomes: Will Cole play enough minutes to be an impactful fantasy commodity? At this point, it's difficult to imagine him playing drastically more minutes than Chalmers, so it's best to take a wait-and-see approach until we have a better idea of how coach Erik Spoelstra will handle his post-LeBron rotations.
Tue Oct 21 201418:48Cole dealing with back issue
Cole has been dealing with a back issue, but is expected to start Tuesday's preseason game, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman reports.
It looks like Cole will open the season as the Heat's starting point guard, with Mario Chalmers coming in off the bench. While this doesn't necessarily mean Cole will be the better fantasy option than Chalmers, it does mean that the two should be going pretty close to one another in drafts.
Tue Oct 7 201419:08Cole got start at point guard in Tuesday's preseason game
Cole got the start at point guard in Tuesday's preseason game, the Miami Herald's Joseph Goodman reports.
Mario Chalmers made some noise earlier in camp talking about how he would be able to do more with LeBron James gone, but that won't be so easy if Cole ends up starting at point guard. However, Tuesday's lineup certainly doesn't mean that Cole has officially passed Chalmers on the depth chart, but it's definitely something worth keeping an eye on.
Sun Jul 13 201413:18Report: MIA not looking to trade Norris Cole
Miami reportedly has no interest in trading Norris Cole.
Cole isn't exactly a game changer, but he's a quality backup point guard, and Miami seems to be high on him. Cole is on the books for Miami next season, while Mario Chalmers is an unrestricted free agent, so it is possible that if Chalmers leaves as a free agent Cole could be the starting point guard. Cole has averaged 10.7 points, 4.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 three-pointers as a starter for the Heat.

Wed Jun 25 201414:21Norris Cole on the block for higher pick
The Heat will try to package the 26th pick in the draft with Norris Cole to move up in the draft and take Shabazz Napier, according to ESPN.com.
LeBron James reportedly likes Shabazz Napier, and as we all know, it always comes back to LeBron. While he did outplay Mario Chalmers in the NBA Finals, Cole did not play very well last season and is really the only asset the team has because he's actually under contract. This potential trade could also affect the status of unrestricted free agent Mario Chalmers.

Sat May 24 201423:26Norris Cole plays 33 minutes in Game 3 win
Norris Cole played 33 minutes off the bench and finished with nine points, two assists and a 3-pointer on 4-of-6 shooting in Saturday's Game 3 win.
Starter Mario Chalmers had six points and one assist, and played just 14 minutes. Looking ahead to next season, it's quite possible that Cole will overtake Chalmers for the starting job, while Chalmers could find himself on the trading block, as well.

Wed May 21 201412:25Norris Cole steps up w/ defensive effort
Norris Cole's defense kept him on the court throughout the fourth quarter of Game 2, while Mario Chalmers was rooted to the bench.
Cole helped limit Lance Stephenson to two points on 1-of-3 shooting in the final frame. "My strength is on-ball defense," he said. "I'm one for taking a challenge ... I could tell [Stephenson] was frustrated because he wasn't pushing the ball. I was trying to limit his catches. Every time he caught, I was right there." His play earned praise from LeBron James and Udonis Haslem, among others, and it may have earned him a bigger role behind Chalmers in Game 3.

Sat Jan 18 201423:08Norris Cole scores just three points vs. CHA
Norris Cole scored three points in 21 minutes against the Bobcats with two boards, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer.
This is just a friendly reminder to drop Cole in most leagues. Mario Chalmers is back and playing big minutes. We'll let you know if anything comes up to consider Cole Train as a pickup.

Wed Jan 15 201422:08Norris Cole scores 15 in another start
Norris Cole got another start for injured Marion Chalmers (Achilles) on Wednesday and had 15 points, seven assists, three steals and a 3-pointer on 6-of-13 shooting.
This was his fourth straight start for Chalmers, and the Heat have now lost three in a row. However, Cole has looked pretty good during his run and is averaging 16.5 points and 7.0 assists over his last two games. As long as Chalmers is out, Cole looks like a strong play, but we don't expect Chalmers to miss much more time.

Thu Jan 9 201423:17Norris Cole plays 35 minutes vs. Knicks
Norris Cole didn't look very comfortable in his start against the Knicks on Thursday, handing out just two assists with 12 points, three boards, one steal and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.
He was outplayed by Raymond Felton tonight and the Heat really had some ball-movement issues in the loss. However, Cole had his most productive game in the stat sheet as a starter tonight after averaging just 6.3 points, 4.3 boards, 3.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.7 triples in his three previous starts. If he's still out there on your wire, it's probably for good reason.

Sun Jan 5 201420:49Norris Cole starts 2nd half w/ Chalmers out
Norris Cole started the second half of Sunday's game at PG after Mario Chalmers left with Achilles tendinitis, and he finished with seven points in 31 minutes.
Cole only had one assist but he's never been a pure distributor, and Miami doesn't need him to be with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James more than capable of assuming PG duties whenever Chalmers goes out. Cole may have short-term value if Chalmers sits out during Miami's upcoming three-game week, so keep an eye on the injury report.

Tue Dec 31 201311:57Norris Cole OK after leaving Monday's game
Norris Cole (face) said he was OK after falling face first on a hard foul during Monday's game against Denver.
"Just a little cut on my lip and that's it," Cole said. "My teeth didn't come out. They would have come out if I didn't have my trays in, but they held them together. They're a little loose, but they're good. I put a lot of money into these things." It sounds as if Cole will be fine other than a potential trip to the dentist. The Heat don't play until Thursday, so it would be a surprise if he isn't in the lineup against Golden State.

Mon Dec 30 201322:35Norris Cole (face) goes to the locker room
Norris Cole landed on his face on Monday and went to the locker room.
He was in a lot of pain and the training staff looked at him before taking him to the locker room. Cole was going to a layup in transition and got a little tied up with Ty Lawson before falling down face first. He walked back under his own power to get further evaluation.

Tue Dec 17 201300:26Cole scores 13 points off the bench
Norris Cole scored 13 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 5-of-7 shots (including a three) with two rebounds, four assists and one steal in 27 minutes.
Cole has been a 14-16 team play over the past two weeks as Erik Spoelstra has embraced a double point guard lineup at times with he and Mario Chalmers. Give Cole a look if you're in one of those formats.

Sat Nov 16 201321:41Norris Cole gets 36 minutes vs. Wizards
Norris Cole got his first start of the season on Saturday, scoring eight points with seven boards, five assists and one steal.
Mario Chalmers was suspended for tonight's game against the Bobcats, but he'll be back for Tuesday's game. Cole hasn't really done much outside of garbage time, so he can be left on the wire in most leagus.
