Sat Mar 24 201202:02Brooks struggles again on Friday vs. ATL
MarShon Brooks' struggles continued on Friday against the Hawks, as he scored just five points on 2-of-4 shooting with four rebounds in 18 minutes.
This is a classic case of a rookie backing off in the presence of two strong-willed veterans in Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace, and while we like his potential it's clearly okay to move onto a hot free agent. Owners with roster space may choose to view Brooks as a roster stash in hopes his fantasy friendly game takes a turn for the better.

Thu Mar 22 201200:41MarShon Brooks stays cold in loss to Wiz
MarShon Brooks hit 2-of-9 shots and missed all three of his 3-pointers to finish with just eight points, one rebound, one assist and two steals in Wednesday's loss to the Wizards.
Brooks is a mess right now, struggling for shots with the arrival of Gerald Wallace, and missing most of the ones he takes, hitting 13-of-48 shots over his last five games. We still love Brooks and think he has a lot of potential for success in the future, but his confidence is down and the Nets are a mess. He could bounce back at any time as he remains the starting shooting guard in New Jersey, but it's time to move on a hot free agent if you've been wanting to drop Brooks.

Fri Mar 16 201222:52MarShon Brooks disappears in ugly loss
MarShon Brooks hit just 1-of-11 shots for two points, three rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes of Friday's ugly loss to the Magic.
The good news is that Brooks should continue to start at shooting guard, as Gerald Wallace will play small forward once he shows up in Jersey. The bad news is that Wallace is going to have the ball in his hands a lot, and Brooks is struggling with his confidence after suffering an Achilles injury a few weeks ago. Brooks should still have some value, but is no longer a must-own fantasy player.

Mon Mar 12 201209:44Brooks playing better with Lopez sidelined
MarShon Brooks is averaging 15.5 points and taken 12.8 shots per game in four outings since Brook Lopez's ankle injury.
Brooks was receding into the background when the offense was running through Lopez, but the impressive rookie is back. Now the biggest concern for owners is the possibility of a Dwight Howard trade as Brooks would likely be headed into Orlando's crowded wing rotation.

Sat Mar 10 201222:35MarShon Brooks notches 23-5-7 on Saturday
The Nets fell at home to the Rockets on Saturday, snapping their two-game win streak, despite getting 23 points, five rebounds and seven assists from MarShon Brooks.
Brooks shot 11-of-16 from the field and was central to the Nets' offense with Deron Williams sidelined, and he should be a potent offensive force over the final 24 games of the season. New Jersey doesn't have many other options offensively, and are committed to giving Brooks meaningful playing time. He should be owned despite his sluggish play in March.

Fri Mar 9 201221:43MarShon backs up strong outing with a clunker
MarShon Brooks backed up his strong outing on Wednesday with a disappointing performance on Friday, scoring just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting.
Owners who recently added Brooks should be patient with him. Yes, he struggled tonight, but given the fact that the Nets will be without Brook Lopez for an extended period of time, Brooks should eventually find his groove again. With Deron Williams also banged up, Brooks becomes the Nets biggest scoring threat. He should be owned in all leagues right now.

Thu Mar 8 201200:33MarShon Brooks scores 19 in win over Clips
MarShon Brooks hit 8-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers for 19 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in Wednesday's win over the Clippers.
Brooks has struggled to return to form since returning from an Achilles injury, but tonight was a step in the right direction. And with Brook Lopez iffy to return this season, the Nets will need MarShon's offense the rest of the way. If he was dumped in your league, he should be worth owning going forward.

Tue Mar 6 201223:07MarShon Brooks scores 12 in in blowout loss
MarShon Brooks got hot early on Tuesday, but cooled off and finished with just 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers on 5-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes in a blowout loss to the Heat.
Brooks should see a boost with Brook Lopez shutdown (possibly for the season), but hasn't really regained his early season form since returning from an Achilles injury. If you need to cut him for a hot free agent like Bismack Biyombo or Ekpe Udoh, do it, but we still think Brooks is going to get it going again in the near future.

Sun Mar 4 201221:09MarShon Brooks' struggles continue on Sunday
MarShon Brooks was painfully quiet again on Sunday, scoring just three points on 1-of-6 FGs and 1-of-4 FTs in 28 minutes.
Brooks should still flirt with double-digit shot attempts despite the return of Brook Lopez, but he hasn't looked very confident or aggressive in recent games. Tonight he settled for jumpers instead of attacking the hoop, and it's all part of the learning curve for a rookie in the NBA.

Sat Mar 3 201200:25MarShon Brooks (hand) able to return
MarShon Brooks left Friday night's game after taking a fall on his left hand, but was able to shake it off and return to action, finishing with 11 points and three rebounds.
Brooks' hand appears to be just fine, but the bigger concern continues to be his role within the offense now that Brook Lopez is back and playing at a high level. Even though he left the game briefly, he still racked up 29 minutes of playing time, but only put up five shots. We still think the rookie will have value, but it might take some time for him to figure it all out.

Fri Mar 2 201220:37Brooks leaves game holding his left hand
MarShon Brooks left Friday's game holding his left (non-shooting) hand during the second quarter and his return is questionable.
If Brooks' injury is serious it will solidify Anthony Morrow's role, but let's not jump to conclusions just yet. We'll update you as soon as we learn more.

Thu Mar 1 201218:52Nets admit that Brooks needs to adjust
Nets coach Avery Johnson admitted that MarShon Brooks will have to adjust to playing off the ball more.
Now that Brook Lopez is healthy, the Nets are running their offense through the post and with Deron Williams pick-and-rolls. Brooks got just four shots up against the Mavs on Tuesday night. Still, the rookie is too talented of a scorer to be so quiet on most nights. He got 33 minutes on Tuesday and there's no reason to panic yet.

Wed Feb 29 201200:18MarShon Brooks quiet in win over Mavs
MarShon Brooks hit just 2-of-4 shots for six points, two rebounds and three assists in Tuesday's win over Dallas.
The good news is that he's heatlhy again and simply had a quiet night. Don't give up on him.

Sun Feb 26 201210:23MarShon Brooks likely trade bait for Dwight
MarShon Brooks would likely be involved in any trade that brings Dwight Howard to the Nets.
Such a deal is not guaranteed (beat writer Colin Stephenson puts the odds at '50-50'), and even if Brooks is dealt he'll likely maintain a featured role. He's a polished scorer with surprising playmaking skills, and should be a fine source of fantasy value with the Nets or elsewhere.

Wed Feb 22 201223:46MarShon Brooks scores career-high 24 points
MarShon Brooks exploded for a career-high 24 points on Wednesday night, nailing four 3's (also a career high) while chipping in five rebounds and two assists.
Brooks played nearly 40 minutes in this one, so it's safe to assume he is over the Achilles' injury that forced him to miss time earlier this season. If he is somehow available in your league, don't hesitate to pick him up.

Mon Feb 20 201223:00Brooks playing well sijnce return from injury
MarShon Brooks scored 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 38 minutes on Monday.
Brooks has slowly ratcheted up his game since his return from a toe and Achilles' injury last week, and it's still surprising to us how available he was on waiver wires. Deron Williams clearly appreciates the playmaking ability Brooks has and the duo should continue to terrorize opponents all season long.

Sun Feb 19 201221:31MarShon Brooks struggles from field on Sunday
MarShon Brooks had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 36 minutes on Sunday, but struggled with his shot at just 3-of-14 from the field.
Mid-way through the fourth quarter, Nets writer Stefan Bondy described this as MarShon's "worst game as a professional." He wasn't quite that bad, and the high minutes indicate that Avery Johnson wasn't upset with his play, so keep him locked and loaded in your lineups.

Sat Feb 18 201218:55MarShon Brooks scores 19 pts in road victory
MarShon Brooks finished Saturday's road win in Chicago with 19 points, two 3-pointers, five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 42 minutes.
Brooks played the first 17 minutes of the game before getting a breather, and Avery Johnson seems very comfortable leaning on his impressive rookie. He's somehow still available in nearly 25 percent of fantasy leagues, but he shouldn't be.

Thu Feb 16 201222:35Brooks continues to improve vs. Pacers
MarShon Brooks continued to improve against the Pacers on Thursday, scoring 14 points on 6-of-16 shooting (1-of-6 from downtown) with five rebounds, four assists, and four turnovers in 36 minutes.
Brooks is struggling with turnovers and his shot, but he's actively around the ball and has shown improvement each game. He's already worth consideration in starting lineups, and should return to being a nice fantasy asset after the All Star break. Deron Williams added 29 points on 10-of-24 shooting with six boards, four assists, six turnovers, and a 3-pointer in the Nets' loss.
