Thu Feb 16 201200:09Brooks scores 12 points; hits two triples
MarShon Brooks scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, three assists, six turnovers, two steals, and one block in 30 minutes.
The turnovers are a drag, obviously, but this is more than enough progress to justify a hold in all formats.

Sun Feb 12 201209:49Nets hopeful days off will help MarShon
With the Nets off until Wednesday, Avery Johnson is hopeful that MarShon Brooks will return at the level he was playing prior to injuring his Achilles and fracturing his toe.
Brooks has played poorly in both games since returning, but Johnson isn't worried. "[Brooks] passed up his shot a couple of times, but he's going to be fine," said Avery. "I just think these two games were sort of like practices because of the way the games are coming so fast." This should calm any owners who are fretting about Brooks' slow re-acclimation to the lineup.

Sat Feb 11 201223:06MarShon Brooks struggles in start at SF
In his return to the Nets' starting lineup, MarShon Brooks played just 24 minutes to finish with seven points (2-of-10 FGs), five rebounds, two assists and six turnovers.
It was tough going for Brooks tonight, and Avery Johnson lost patience with him after numerous careless turnovers in the first half. Since returning he hasn't complained about his toe or his Achilles, but it's quite possible he's still bothered by one or both of those injuries. When he is healthy, however, his numbers should leap forward. Lest we forget, he was terrific in nine starts prior to his injuries, averaging 16.9 points, 1.3 threes, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals.

Sat Feb 11 201218:45MarShon Brooks to start for Nets on Saturday
Marshon Brooks will start for the Nets on Saturday, replacing Shelden Williams.
Williams, who hurt his wrist on Friday, will play limited minutes off the bench. This is further evidence that Brooks is over his toe injury, and the time off should also have his Achilles at full strength. If he's still available in your league, pick him up.

Sat Feb 11 201214:17MarShon Brooks expects to play Saturday
MarShon Brooks (toe) expects to play vs. the Spurs on Saturday.
Brooks played 17 minutes on Friday and didn't have any setbacks, so we expect his minutes to increase over the next few games. Amazingly, he's available in the majority of ESPN leagues and makes for a savvy pickup if he's on your waiver wire.

Sat Feb 11 201201:57Brooks (toe) returns to action vs. Pistons
MarShon Brooks (toe) was rusty in his return from a nine-game absence on Friday, scoring seven points on 2-of-7 shooting (including at three) with two rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block in 17 minutes off the bench.
Surely owners were wanting more, but this is a time for patience and if anybody drops Brooks in your league go ahead and pick him up. There are no reports of aggravation at this time, so that in of itself is a win.

MarShon Brooks (toe) has been upgraded to a game-time decision on Friday.

Wed Feb 8 201215:07MarShon Brooks likely back within a week
MarShon Brooks (toe) is expected to return "in the next week or so," according to John Schuhmann of NBA.com.
This is in mostly in line with what we expected, but another reminder to give Brooks a look if he got dropped in your league. The Nets may ease him in slowly as he first returns, but the team needs his scoring and he should re-establish value before too long.

Tue Feb 7 201214:30MarShon Brooks gets jumpers up at practice
MarShon Brooks (toe) took set shots for 20 minutes following Nets practice Tuesday.
Brooks is out until Sunday at the very earliest. He didn't jump on Tuesday, but did pivot and move around the court to get his shots up. The rookie is expected to be limited upon his return thanks to this toe issue and an earlier Achilles issue.

Mon Feb 6 201210:24MarShon Brooks to try to practice this week?
MarShon Brooks (toe) is out Monday, but is expected to try to practice at some point this week.
Brooks has been dealing with a bunch of nagging lower-leg injuries and the Nets are 8-17. They won't rush him back even though DeShawn Stevenson (knee) and Anthony Morrow (personal) are sidelined.

Fri Feb 3 201219:33MarShon Brooks (toe) out Friday, foot in boot
MarShon Brooks (toe) is still in a boot and, according to head coach Avery Johnson, won't be cleared to shoot until the middle of next week.
WIth this news, Brooks will miss most, if not all, of next week, so his owners need to start looking for a viable alternative for Week 7. Anthony Morrow returned to the Nets' lineup on Friday and could fit the bill for Brooks owners looking for a replacement.

Tue Jan 31 201211:22No update on MarShon Brooks for a few days
According to Avery Johnson, MarShon Brooks (toe) will not have his status updated until the weekend.
Despite no official timetable for Brooks' return, Deron Williams said that he expects Brooks back at the same time as Brook Lopez. We've heard a mid-February timetable for Lopez, so that would mean Brooks would be out for at least a couple of weeks. That is not a definitive diagnosis by any means, but it's clear that the injury is not one which will keep him out for just a couple of games. Anthony Morrow and Jordan Farmar will both get boosts in value for as long as Brooks is sidelined.

Mon Jan 30 201212:36MarShon Brooks dealing w/ broken toe
MarShon Brooks has a fracture in his right small toe -- he is seeing a foot specialist on Monday and won't play in Tuesday's game.
It's unclear how much time Brooks might miss with the injury, but this follows a report that the Nets might limit his playing time all season to keep him healthy. All owners can do is bench him for now, and hope that he gets a positive report from the doctors.

Mon Jan 30 201210:21Nets prepared to limit MarShon's playing time
The Nets may limit MarShon Brooks' minutes all season in an attempt to keep him healthy.
"We're trying to figure out how we're going to monitor his minutes," said Avery Johnson, "and maybe he's not gonna play 48 or 38 minutes again this year. Maybe it's 28." The Nets aren't going anywhere this season and it makes sense for them to protect Brooks, but this is very bad news for his fantasy owners. He's well worth owning despite the apparent minute-limit, but his fantasy outlook needs to be revised downward.

Sun Jan 29 201221:41MarShon Brooks returns quietly for Nets
MarShon Brooks returned from an achilles injury on Sunday and hit 3-of-10 shots for six points and a steal.
The line was not great, but the good news is he played. He might be worked back into the mix slowly, but saw 22 minutes tonight. Weigh your options carefully before rolling with Brooks next week, but if you have to start him, it looks like he'll be on the floor after missing three straight games.

Sun Jan 29 201216:41Brooks to play, will not start Sunday
MarShon Brooks (Achilles) will play on Sunday against the Raptors, but will not start.
Brooks had tests done on Saturday which didn't reveal anything serious, and is apparently feeling good enough to play. However, he is only expected to get "some minutes" tonight, so expectations should be tempered for the time being.

Sun Jan 29 201210:22MarShon Brooks (Achilles) game-time on Sunday
MarShon Brooks (Achilles) will be a game-time decision on Sunday.
Tests on Saturday must not have revealed anything serious, or else he wouldn't be considering a return vs. the Raptors, but owners should keep him reserved until we get a more definite report on his status.

Sun Jan 29 201202:31MarShon Brooks not sounding good for Sunday
MarShon Brooks didn't make it through Saturday's shootaround and is sounding very shaky for Sunday's game due to his Achilles injury.
"We're going to get him checked out again tomorrow, and then we'll see where he is Sunday," coach Avery Johnson said. "If he's not playing Sunday, then I'm going to start to get a little bit more concerned." Brooks' status will depend on the results of Saturday's testing and the results aren't in yet. Stay tuned.
