Sat Dec 29 201223:31MarShon Brooks plays just six minutes
MarShon Brooks played only six minutes off the bench on Saturday, scoring four points with zero rebounds or assists.
Brooks had played 20 minutes in each of the past two games, but tonight Jerry Stackhouse (eight points in 18 minutes) vaulted ahead of him in the rotation. This scuttles the notion that interim coach P.J. Carlesimo would give him more minutes, but it's anyone's guess who will ultimately take over in Brooklyn. Keep an eye on MarShon.

Sat Dec 29 201200:10MarShon Brooks plays 20 minutes, scores nine
MarShon Brooks played 20 minutes against the Bobcats on Friday and had nine points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Brooks could emerge as one of the winners with P.J. Carlisemo taking over, but this quiet outing isn't going to move the needle too much just yet. You'd have to be cutting someone with essentially no value to make a speculative add on him.

Sun Dec 9 201221:00MarShon Brooks scores 14 points off bench
MarShon Brooks had his best game in recent memory on Sunday, scoring 14 points in 21 minutes vs. the Bucks, with a +/- rating of +16.
The Nets were so bad that the home crowd booed them in the second half, but Brooks provided a brief flicker of hope with his strong play off the bench. He's coming off three consecutive scoreless games, however, so don't cut anyone with value for him.

Mon Nov 26 201208:36Brooks losing time to Stackhouse, Bogans
MarShon Brooks is losing playing time to veterans Jerry Stackhouse and Keith Bogans.
Ouch. Brooks showed some impressive scoring flash as a rookie for a terrible Nets team last season, but he's struggling to cling to a consistent role in the rotation this year. He played just 13 minutes on Sunday after not playing on Friday, and hasn't eclipsed 22 minutes all season. Avery Johnson has "made it clear" that Bogans and Stackhouse are getting the nod over Brooks for now.

Sat Nov 24 201213:16MarShon Brooks struggling to find time
MarShon Brooks is healthy, but didn't see the court Friday against the Clippers.
Avery Johnson hinted after the game that the Nets will be shortening their rotation even further with a healthy roster, leaving little room for Brooks apparently. If you hadn't already cut ties, now would be the time. Brooks remains unreliable for fantasy purposes.

Sun Nov 18 201220:54MarShon Brooks gets hot in 12 bench minutes
MarShon Brooks scored a season-high 14 points in just 12 minutes of action vs. the Kings, making 5-of-6 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs.
One of Brooks' makes was from downtown, and it's nice to see his sprained ankle is behind him, but he obviously needs more playing time to be a reliable fantasy option.

MarShon Brooks returned from his ankle injury with just two points in six minutes on Thursday.
Brooks missed three games with his ankle injury and it was a mild surprise to see him only on the court for six minutes with Gerald Wallace out of the lineup. Regardless of whether it's health related or not, there's not enough upside to own Brooks in standard leagues.

Thu Nov 15 201218:36MarShon Brooks (ankle) active for Thursday
MarShon Brooks (ankle) is active for Thursday's game against the Celtics.
He has been out for three games with his ankle injury and should see plenty of minutes with the Nets missing Gerald Wallace (ankle) tonight. Brooks could have a nice game against their divisional opponent, but we would leave him on the waiver wire in most formats.

MarShon Brooks (ankle) appears close to returning Thursday against the Celtics.
Brooks has missed the last three games with the sprained ankle. Gerald Wallace (sprained ankle) is iffy for Thursday night and Brooks could have an opportunity to impress if Wallace sits again.

MarShon Brooks (ankle) was limited in practice and is out Tuesday against the Cavs.
Avery Johnson has said he wants Brooks to go through a full practice before putting him into a game, but that shouldn't affect fantasy owners much, if at all. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Sun Nov 11 201213:31MarShon Brooks (ankle) ruled out on Sunday
Marshon Brooks (sprained left ankle) will not play on Sunday.
Brooks' absence thins out Avery Johnson's options with the second unit, but it shouldn't affect fantasy lineups -- he's averaging 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 20 minutes per game.

Sun Nov 11 201210:36MarShon Brooks (ankle) game-time on Sunday
MarShon Brooks (sprained left ankle) will be a game-time decision vs. the Magic on Sunday.
The Nets tip off at 3pm so we won't have much advance warning on Brooks' status, but if he's active he should get solid minutes thanks to Gerald Wallace's continued absence.

Fri Nov 9 201217:25MarShon Brooks ruled out for Friday
MarShon Brooks has been ruled out for Friday's game after suffering a sprained left ankle in shootaround.
Brooks doesn't have a huge role off the bench right now but this could free a few extra minutes for starter Joe Johnson. Brooks is day-to-day with the injury.

Fri Nov 9 201212:07MarShon Brooks sprains ankle at practice
MarShon Brooks sprained his left ankle at shootaround Friday and will be a game-time decision against the Magic.
After being openly criticized by Avery Johnson in the preseason, Brooks has struggled make much of an impact in limited minutes this season. The most we can advise is for owners in deep leagues to simply monitor Brooks for the time being.

Tue Nov 6 201201:05Brooks shows up in Monday's loss
MarShon Brooks hit 4-of-7 shots (including a three) to score 11 points on Monday, and also managed four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 25 minutes.
If he can get this many minutes he might make some noise, but he has some holes in his fantasy game and he wasn't nearly as productive in the team's only other game this season. Deep leaguers can simply watch him for now.

Sat Oct 20 201202:27Brooks plays 12 minutes off the bench
MarShon Brooks was limited to just 12 minutes off the bench in Friday's loss to the Sixers.
Brooks hit 3-of-5 shots for six points with three rebounds, two assists, and a steal, but the noteworthy part was Avery Johnson telling reporters that his bench rotation would mimic their regular season approach. Brooks was the 10th man off the bench, and after Johnson criticized his size, strength, and conditioning after Thursday's game, owners may want to look elsewhere for a sleeper pick.

Fri Oct 19 201217:32Nets exercise Rookie option on Brooks
Nets exercised Rookie option on G MarShon Brooks.
Brooks is a wild card this season, as he could compete for Sixth Man of the Year off the Nets bench, or be buried too far behind Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace to make much of an impact. Either way, he's got enough upside to be considered a sleeper in most leagues.

Fri Oct 19 201202:51Brooks (foot) returns to action on Thursday
MarShon Brooks (foot) returned to action in Thursday's exhibition loss, scoring seven points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes.
Avery Johnson refused to name Brooks his Sixth Man and discussed his shortcomings at length, including his conditioning, size, and strength issues. Johnson added that he wasn't sure if Brooks would play on Friday against the Sixers, saying he'd be evaluating the second-year player's status after the game. We're not sure why he was getting hyped up by some, as he was miles off the fantasy radar the minute Joe Johnson was acquired.
