Thu Oct 18 201218:42MarShon Brooks to make debut Thursday
As expected, MarShon Brooks will play in his first preseason game on Thursday after being sidelined by foot tendinitis.
Brooks is either a bust or a sleeper depending on who you listen to, but with guys like Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace manning the wings, he may have a tough time seeing enough minutes to make a fantasy difference. And his foot injury isn't helping his potential value, either.

Thu Oct 18 201210:46MarShon Brooks game-time call Thursday
MarShon Brooks (foot) is a game-time decision on Thursday.
Brooks has been dealing with foot tendinitis and the earliest he was expected to play was on Thursday, so it's encouraging to hear that he's a game-time call rather than being ruled out entirely. The Nets will be cautious with Brooks, so if he's not completely ready, there's really no reason to rush him.

MarShon Brooks (foot tendinitis) will be out until at least Thursday's preseason game.
Brooks is off the fantasy radar in most formats, as minutes are hard to come by and his fantasy game has some holes in it, anyway.

Mon Oct 15 201211:47MarShon Brooks (foot) sheds walking boot
MarShon Brooks (foot) is no longer in a walking boot, but he'll miss at least the next two games.
This was expected after it was previously reported Brooks could be sidelined for the majority of the preseason, so he hasn't had a setback or anything of that nature. Brooks will likely be reevaluated after the next two preseason games, and we'll let you know where he's at following that point.

Fri Oct 12 201209:12MarShon Brooks (foot) spotted in walking boot
MarShon Brooks (foot) could miss most of the preseason.
Brooks is expected to be in a walking boot for another "day or two," and then will have to undergo more rehab after that. Although the injury is not considered serious, the team will play it cautious with the sixth man. Avery Johnson feels that Brooks might be ready to play by the end of next week.

Thu Oct 11 201215:05MarShon Brooks out w/ right foot tendinitis
MarShon Brooks sat out Thursday's practice due to right foot tendinitis.
Last season Brooks sprained his left ankle and fractured a toe in his right foot, but this tendinitis doesn't sound serious and there's no reason to think he's injury-prone. He has embraced a sixth-man role for the Nets, and makes for an intriguing fantasy pick in the final rounds.

"I feel like the sixth man is a much more important role these days. It's used a lot of different," Brooks said. "I'm just going to provide that spark for the team in any way possible. I'm going to look to create opportunities for my teammates as well as score the ball." Brooks averaged 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists on 42.8 percent shooting in his rookie season.

Fri Sep 14 201210:09MarShon Brooks knows he needs to bulk up
MarShon Brooks said that he's got to make the weight room "my best friend."
Brooks has made it a priority to get stronger in the offseason, admitting that he was "198 lbs. soaking wet" last season. Brooks' adding some weight to his frame will only help him sustain over the course of an 82-game season, and that will be big for him as he is being relied upon to serve as the sixth man for the upcoming campaign.

Thu Jul 12 201209:01Report: Nets shopping MarShon Brooks
The Nets are said to be shopping swingman MarShon Brooks.
Brooks was an impressive scorer in his rookie season, averaging 12.6 points per game. But he's young and still needs to learn how to play in the NBA, which may be why the Nets were talking about bringing him off the bench even before signing Joe Johnson. Brooks would appear to have some nice trade value around the league, but the Nets asking price is probably going to be on the high side.

Wed Jun 27 201216:50MarShon Brooks may come off bench for Nets
MarShon Brooks is not guaranteed to be a starter for the Nets next season and "will have to earn that position."
This is more than offseason boilerplate, as GM Billy King and coach Avery Johnson have apparently "spoken about the possibility that Brooks may be best suited to coming off the bench, like James Harden...or Jason Terry." Brooks' summer to-do list includes getting stronger, improving defensively, and increasing his shooting range.

MarShon Brooks is focused on getting stronger this summer, which he hopes will improve his defense and long-range shooting.
Brooks didn't have a proper training camp as a rookie, and he was derailed by nagging injuries during the season, but fantasy owners shouldn't overlook his solid rookie campaign. In 29 minutes per game, he averaged 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists and 0.9 steals.

Wed Apr 18 201222:55MarShon Brooks disappears in loss
MarShon Brooks had just five points on 2-of-6 shooting in 21 minutes on Wednesday.
Gerald Wallace was back and had a big game, and Brooks never got involved in the offense. If Wallace keeps playing the rest of the way, expect inconsistency from Brooks. Gerald Green fared better in a return to the bench, finishing with 12 points, seven boards and two assists, but didn't hit a 3-pointer for the first time in four games.

Tue Apr 17 201203:05Brooks posts 24-7-6 line; Humph scores 29
MarShon Brooks scored 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting (no threes) with seven rebounds, six assists, two steals, and five turnovers in the Nets' 101-98 loss to the Heat on Monday.
The Nets led the entire game before LeBron James rattled off 17 straight points to steal the game in Jersey. Brooks has regained his fantasy touch now that he's a primary ball-handler and backup PG, and he should be in all lineups going forward. Kris Humphries added 29 points and eight boards in the loss.

Fri Apr 13 201223:41MarShon Brooks scores 22 points Friday
MarShon Brooks posted 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting with six rebounds, four assists and a steal on Friday against the 76ers.
Brooks is really starting to heat up again, although the Nets schedule will do fantasy owners no favors as they only play three times next week. Still, it's hard to ignore him at this point given his production and the fact that he has been given some backup point guard duties.

MarShon Brooks hit just 1-of-7 shots for two points in 30 minutes on Wednesday.
Brooks just can't get it going and played just 16 minutes on Tuesday. The Nets should continue to give him solid minutes the rest of the way, but unless he gets hot, he belongs on fantasy benches for now.

Wed Apr 4 201201:10MarShon Brooks quiet again Tuesday
MarShon Brooks started again, but played just 16 minutes to finish with five points and a 3-pointer on 2-of-6 shooting in Tuesday's loss.
So much for the Nets turning Brooks loose and letting him play. He's scored eight or less in three straight, playing 17 minutes or less in each of them. If you want to drop him for a hot free agent, it makes sense.

Brooks has regressed before our eyes, and he's going to have to do some heavy lifting before he earns owners' trust again. Feel free to drop him for a hot free agent.

Thu Mar 29 201200:24Marshon Brooks solid against Pacers
Marshon Brooks posted his highest point total in weeks on Wednesday, dropping 17 points on the Pacers. He added four boards and three assists but failed to hit a 3-pointer
Brooks has been treading water lately, averaging less than 10ppg over his last five. However, he had it going tonight and hopefully, he'll continue the run. He got a little extra run tonight, getting over the 30 minute mark for just the second time in nine games. If he continues to hit his shots, he should get that kind of burn nightly.

MarShon Brooks took a hard hit to the head from Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo on Saturday, but he returned after briefly leaving the game.
Brooks finished with 11 points, three rebounds, four turnovers and nothing else. He simply hasn't gotten on track in March (10.1 points on 40.6 percent shooting), and isn't currently returning fantasy value.
