Prince posted six points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and one assist in 18 minutes during the Grizzlies' 97-89 win versus the Pacers on Friday.
Having received a DNP-CD in the first game of the season, Prince performed well when called upon on Friday, and may be required to play a larger role short-term if Courtney Lee (head) is forced to miss time. It's possible Prince could draw the start at small forward alongside Tony Allen on Saturday versus the Hornets, but regardless of how coach Dave Joerger decides to use Prince he is likely only worth consideration in the very deepest leagues.
Tue Oct 21 201415:59Prince will come off bench and play less minutes this year
Prince will come off the bench and play less minutes this year, 92.9 ESPN in Memphis reports.
Prince is 34 years old, and the team believes it would be foolish to tax his body any more than necessary during the long regular season grind. In regard to Prince's role, Coach Dave Joerger referenced the role Mike Miller played with the Heat during LeBron James' time there, and how Miller only played about 50 regular season games. Thus it's possible Prince could be in line to see similar rest during the regular season in hopes that he still has something to contribute come playoff time. Prince is not the floor-spacing threat that Miller is, but it appears Joerger believes he can still get something out of the unique, aging veteran. Still, Prince's reduced role makes him even less desirable as a fantasy option, and he was already only worth consideration in the deepest leagues last year. Unless serious injuries strike the Grizzlies, it's hard to envision him making a return to relevance in fantasy.
Fri Jun 27 201413:51Tayshaun Prince deal to Raptors off the table
The Grizzlies declined a proposed trade which would have sent Tayshaun Prince and the No. 22 pick to Toronto for John Salmons and the No. 37 pick.
The Grizzlies would have sacrificed a solid pick, which they turned into Jordan Adams, just to dump the remaining $7.7 million on Prince's contract. They're still eager to unload him, but are unlikely to find any takers for their unproductive, overpaid veteran SF. As for Salmons, the Raptors are fully expected to waive him before June 30 -- the final year on his contract is only guaranteed for $1 million.

Thu Jun 26 201412:50Tayshaun Prince could be headed to Raptors
Tayshaun Prince could be headed to the Raptors as part of a deal that involving draft picks.
The proposed deal would send Prince and his $7.7 million expiring contract to Toronto along with the 22nd pick in Thursday's draft. There is no word as to what the Grizzlies would receive in return, but this trade would give the Raptors the 20th and 22nd pick in the draft and allow them to potentially move up in the draft. Prince averaged 6.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists with the Grizzlies during the 2013-14 season and doesn't hold much fantasy value for the 2014-15 season no matter where he's playing.

Mon Apr 21 201423:21Tayshaun Prince (migraine) struggles Monday
Tayshaun Prince struggled with a lingering migraine during Monday's game, scoring two points in 14 minutes of action.
Tony Allen took over primary defensive duties against Kevin Durant and he fared well, denying KD the ball and staying close to his body when he did have possession. Prince should be ready to go for Game 3 on Thursday.

Sun Apr 20 201416:27Tayshaun Prince practices on Sunday
Tayshaun Prince (illness) practiced on Sunday and is expected to play against the Thunder on Monday.
He missed the second half of Saturday's game due to the illness, but the Grizzlies probably aren't going to play him much in order to give Tony Allen more run. Prince may still be getting over an ankle injury from earlier this month and he's not likely to be much of a factor in this series.

Sat Apr 19 201423:13Tayshaun Prince out 2nd half with illness
Tayshaun Prince will miss the second half of Saturday's Game 1 against the Thunder due to an illness.
He played just four minutes and failed to score in the first half, and Tony Allen started the second half in his place. This could end up being a permanent move, as Prince was highly ineffective this season. It also may not matter, as the Thunder are trouncing the Grizzlies and are playing on a different level.

Tayshaun Prince (ankle) returned to the Grizzlies' starting lineup on Sunday, scoring nine points with one 3-pointer, five rebounds, two assists and one block in 21 minutes.
Prince missed three games with his sprained ankle, during which time James Johnson stepped into the starting SF job. Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger has been committed to Prince as a starter all season, though he's provided negligible fantasy value in 26 minutes per game.

Sun Apr 13 201414:06Tayshaun Prince a game-time decision on Sun.
Tayshaun Prince was a participant in Sunday's shootaround, and he is officially a game-time decision vs. the Lakers.
Tayshaun is a guy who offers much more to his real life team, than to a fantasy team. If Tayshaun does suit up, he will essentially cancel out the value James Johnson. Check back closer to the tip for official confirmation on Prince's status.

Tue Apr 8 201413:01Tayshaun Prince (ankle) iffy vs. Heat
Tayshaun Prince, who missed Sunday's game and Tuesday's practice with a sprained left ankle, is questionable for Wednesday against the Heat.
If he's out again, look for James Johnson to have a decent game against LeBron and company.

Wed Mar 5 201423:42Tayshaun Prince back to Tayshaun Prince form
Tayshaun Prince, who somehow scored 21 points on Monday, didn't hit a shot or do anything relevant in just 17 minutes of Wednesday's ugly loss to the Nets.
The Grizzlies outscored the Nets 34-16 in the fourth quarter and still lost by nine, so there's not a lot to learn from this game. However, what we already knew was that Prince's 21-point performance on Monday had fluke written all over it. When you toss out Monday's game, Prince has scored a grand total of 21 points in his other four games over his last five. Ignore him.

Mon Mar 3 201422:21Tayshaun Prince scores 21 points vs. Wizards
Tayshaun Prince scored 21 points vs. the Wizards on Monday with six boards, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
He was a little more involved tonight with James Johnson (ankle) not playing and Courtney Lee getting into some early foul trouble. Prince hasn't really had his numbers translate to fantasy in quite some time, so there's really no reason to add him based on a rare productive line.

Mon Feb 17 201420:03Wolves going after Tayshaun Prince in trade
The Timberwolves are interested in acquiring Tayshaun Prince and a deal could be expanded to adding Tony Allen, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Prince has $7.7 million left on his contract or 2014-15, but the Grizzlies are looking to get some extra defense. The Wolves would likely include Chase Budinger and J.J. Barea to basically make it an offense for defense swap. Nothing is imminent, but the deal seems to make sense at least on the Memphis side considering how they've done very well with Courtney Lee and James Johnson.

Wed Feb 12 201421:43Tayshaun Prince scores 14 points in Orlando
Tayshaun Prince finished Wednesday's victory in Orlando with 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting, falling two points shy of his season high.
The veteran SF chipped in five rebounds and one assist. This was only the second time Prince has reached double-figures in the Grizzlies' previous 16 games, and he's already been held scoreless in three February games. Those numbers should scare away even the most optimistic fantasy owners.

Sat Feb 8 201409:52Report: Grizzlies hope to upgrade at SF
The Grizzlies are "known to be ... in search of an upgrade at the small forward spot," according to USA Today's Sam Amick.
Tayshaun Prince is having a lousy season, shooting 38.0 percent from the field with nothing to hang his hat on offensively or defensively, but the mid-season acquisition of James Johnson should ensure that Memphis doesn't make any moves out of desperation. Just file away this tidbit as the trade deadline creeps into view.

Sun Jan 5 201416:16Tayshaun Prince looks good vs. old team
Tayshaun Prince looked great against his former team in Sunday's win at The Palace of Auburn Hills, scoring 15 points with four boards, four assists and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.
In a post-game interview on the Memphis broadcast, Prince said his knee is feeling a lot better. His 32 minutes tonight were his highest total since Dec. 9 and his 15 points were one off his season high. Prince hasn't really been able to have his numbers translate into fantasy output in quite some time, so he can remain on the wire in standard leagues.

Fri Dec 27 201301:34Tayshaun Prince returns, scores nine
Tayshaun Prince scored nine points in 25 minutes against the Rockets on Thursday to go with one rebound, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
He missed four games with a knee injury and played 25 minutes tonight, which is just a shade below his 26.6 minute average on the season. Prince made just his fourth triple of the season tonight and his game has never really been one that garners the attention of fantasy owners.

Thu Dec 26 201318:51Tayshaun Prince (knee) starting at SF Thurs.
Tayshaun Prince (knee) will return to the Grizzlies' starting lineup on Thursday, shifting James Johnson back to the bench.
Johnson was impressive while Prince was out, playing with great energy, and it would be surprising if he fell completely out of the picture. Fantasy owners are well acquainted with Tayshaun's lack of reliable value, even if he's getting solid minutes, so his return doesn't have many positive ramifications in fantasy leagues.
