Fri Mar 1 2013 | 11:24 | Marcus Camby will not return on Friday night |
Marcus Camby (foot) will not play on Friday. |
Surprise, surprise. Although Mike Woodson said Camby had a chance to return on Friday, it was highly unrealistic to think it would actually happen. Camby remains "day-to-day" but has not played since January 10. He'll supposedly be ready to play the Heat, but we'll see about that. |

Tue Feb 26 2013 | 16:41 | Marcus Camby (foot) could return on Friday |
Marcus Camby (foot) could return as soon as Friday. |
Camby has been out since early January due to a sprained plantar fascia. He participated in another scrimmage Tuesday and barring a setback, should be good for limited minutes Friday. Note that before going down, Camby was averaging just 10.6 minutes a night. |

Sun Feb 24 2013 | 09:20 | Marcus Camby (foot) back at Knicks practice |
Marcus Camby (foot) practiced on Saturday but there is still no timetable for his return. |
Mike Woodson said that he expects Camby to return sooner than Rasheed Wallace (foot), but that's not saying much. The Knicks recently signed Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract as an insurance policy until their other veteran bigs are healthy. |

Thu Feb 21 2013 | 14:15 | Marcus Camby scrimmages some Thursday |
Marcus Camby (foot) participated in "some" of the Knicks' scrimmage Thursday. |
Camby hasn't played since Jan. 10 and has appeared in just 14 games all year. Once he does return, he'll be a poor bet to sustain health at age 39 (in March). |

Tue Feb 19 2013 | 11:10 | Camby, Wallace both practice in full Tuesday |
Marcus Camby (foot) and Rasheed Wallace (foot) both made it through a full practice on Tuesday. |
Both have been sidelined since long before the All-Star break, and it's the first time all season the Knicks have had everyone on the team healthy and practicing together. Both veteran big men can be ignored outside of ridiculously deep fantasy leagues. |

Thu Feb 14 2013 | 08:52 | Woodson uncertain when Camby will return |
Mike Woodson is uncertain when Marcus Camby (foot) will be able to return. |
Camby was given a 2-4 week timetable on January 11, so he's already been out longer than that despite Woodson previously saying that he anticipated Camby back during the timetable. The veteran remains out indefinitely and has been invisible for most of the season. |

Tue Feb 5 2013 | 09:29 | Marcus Camby not expected back before break |
Marcus Camby (foot) is not expected back before the All-Star break. |
"I don't know about Camby," Mike Woodson said. The coach went on to say that Rasheed Wallace is expected back before Camby, who has been out since January 10. There is no timetable for Camby's return. |

Mon Jan 28 2013 | 09:19 | Confusion over Marcus Camby's return date |
Mike Woodson expects Marcus Camby (foot) to return during his initial 2-4 week timetable. |
Camby has been out for 2.5 weeks, and previous comments didn't indicate that the veteran big man was likely to return before his four weeks were up. Regardless, Camby will return to a marginal role and is not a fantasy option. |

Fri Jan 25 2013 | 08:02 | Marcus Camby finally sheds his walking boot |
Marcus Camby (plantar fasciitis) has shed his walking boot. |
Camby had been in a walking boot for about a week. "I don't know yet," Camby said when asked about his return date. The good news is that the veteran said the pain has lessened, and Thursday was the two-week mark since he went down. Camby's initial timetable was 2-4 weeks, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he missed a little longer than that. |

Fri Jan 18 2013 | 08:20 | Marcus Camby (foot) now wearing walking boot |
Marcus Camby (foot) is now wearing a walking boot for his plantar fasciitis. |
Camby is expected to be out at least another three weeks with the injury. When he does return, it will be to a minimal role in the rotation and owners in standard formats can't rely on him. |

Fri Jan 11 2013 | 18:28 | Marcus Camby out 2-4 weeks with foot issue |
Marcus Camby (foot) is out 2-4 weeks. |
Camby has aggravated his strained left plantar fascia. It's the kind of injury that requires simple rest. Amare Stoudemire is active Friday, but Kurt Thomas is starting at power forward. |

Fri Jan 11 2013 | 09:06 | Marcus Camby (foot) getting MRI on Friday |
After aggravating his plantar fasciitis on Thursday, Marcus Camby will receive an MRI on Friday. |
He left the arena on crutches and in a walking boot, and that is not a good sign. Camby previously missed almost a month with plantar fasciitis, so an aggravation of the injury could keep him out for an extended period. While surgery is a "worst-case scenario," we won't know more until the MRI is performed. Camby said he felt a "sharp pain in the bottom of my foot similar to before." With Rasheed Wallace (foot) also out, Kurt Thomas, Chris Copeland and Steve Novak are next in line. |

Thu Jan 10 2013 | 21:49 | Marcus Camby leaves with foot injury |
Marcus Camby left Thursday's game in the third quarter with a left foot injury and he will not return. |
He dealt with a sore left foot for most of December and the Knicks aren't likely to play him given his inability to stay healthy. Tyson Chandler and Amare Stoudemire might need to play more than they though against the Pacers. |

Thu Jan 3 2013 | 22:20 | Camby scores two points in 16 on Thursday |
Marcus Camby started against the Spurs on Thursday and scored two points with six rebounds, one assist and one block in 16 minutes. |
Camby's 16 minutes were a season high for him. While it's nice that he started, the Knicks really don't have the luxury to play him for more than half of a game. He might be able to put up a handful of boards and one block per game, but he's not even remotely close to being on the radar in standard leagues. |

Thu Jan 3 2013 | 18:10 | Camby starting for Knicks on Thursday |
Marcus Camby will start over Kurt Thomas on Thursday. |
As Knicks studio host Alan Hahn notes, it's Camby's first Knicks start in nearly 11 years. However, there's no reason to think that Camby is in line for significant playing time. The 38-year-old hasn't played more than 13 minutes in a game all year. |

Thu Jan 3 2013 | 11:36 | Marcus Camby could start over Thomas Thursday |
Marcus Camby could start over Kurt Thomas on Thursday, according to Mike Woodson. |
Woodson is contemplating a lineup change, and the move would take Thomas out and put Camby in. Thomas has started each of the last four games and hasn't eclipsed 16.5 minutes in any of them, including just four minutes in his last one. Even if Camby starts, don't expect him to come into sustainable fantasy value. |

Tue Dec 25 2012 | 22:21 | Marcus Camby plays eight minutes vs. Nets |
Marcus Camby returned after a 14-game layoff with plantar fasciitis on Tuesday and had four points, four rebounds and a block in eight minutes. |
Camby's return means much more to the banged up Knicks than it does fantasy owners, and we can't think of a reason to own him in most leagues. |

Tue Dec 25 2012 | 14:18 | Marcus Camby set to play on Christmas |
Marcus Camby is expected to play through his plantar fasciitis on Christmas Day against the Lakers. |
He's missed 14 straight games and isn't expected to do much tonight, or any other night for that matter. But the fact he's back is good news for the banged up Knicks. |

Sun Dec 23 2012 | 16:12 | Marucs Camby will not play on Sunday |
Marcus Camby (foot) will not play against the Timberwolves on Sunday. |
Camby has played just 6.6 minutes per game in seven games this year. The Knicks signing him to a three-year deal makes less sense every day and he has no fantasy value. |

Fri Dec 21 2012 | 11:37 | Marcus Camby won't play on Friday |
Updating a previous item, Marcus Camby (foot) will not play on Friday, and there is "no return date" in mind for Camby. |
Camby has been an afterthought in the rotation this season, so from a fantasy standpoint, his continued absence won't matter very much. |
