Wed Sep 14 201117:34Sebastian Vollmer back in Pats practice
Patriots RT Sebastian Vollmer (back) has resumed practicing.
Rookie Nate Solder held up extraordinarily well against Cameron Wake last week, and will be a full-time player sooner rather than later. Vollmer is still ultimately the Pats' best option at right tackle. He should start this week.

Mon Sep 12 201117:51As expected, Vollmer leads Pats inactives
Patriots declared RT Sebastian Vollmer, QB Ryan Mallett, RB Shane Vereen, WR Taylor Price, MLB Brandon Spikes, C Ryan Wendell and OLB/DE Jermaine Cunningham inactive for Monday's opener against the Dolphins.
As expected, first-round pick Nate Solder will start in Vollmer's place at right tackle in his NFL debut. Price is inactive despite a strong preseason. Vereen isn't ready after missing a large chunk of his rookie camp with a hamstring injury, while Spikes isn't quite all the way back from an ankle ailment. DT Albert Haynesworth is active and apparently over his "illness."

Tue Jul 13 201009:01Sebastian Vollmer to be a starter
Patriots second-year OT Sebastian Vollmer is expected to be a starter this season.
He was New England's best tackle last year, so the promotion is deserved. While the Pats don't seem inclined yet to move Matt Light off left tackle, Nick Kaczur's switch to left guard with Logan Mankins holding out creates an opening at right tackle. It's Vollmer's likely position to start the season.
