Wed Dec 24 201416:45Julio Jones: (Hip/Oblique) No Practice Wednesday
Jones (hip/oblique) didn't practice Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jones' absence is likely a precautionary measure, but owners are advised to watch his status throughout the week to make sure he's on a path to active status this coming Sunday. After the wideout toughed out his hip injury in Week 16 en route to seven receptions for 107 yards, expect him to produce yet again versus a Panthers defense that has yielded 12.3 YPC and two touchdown receptions to wideouts in the past four games.

Jones (hip) had seven catches on eight targets for 107 yards during Sunday's win over the Saints.
Jones suffered the hip injury in Week 14 against the Packers and was unable to play in Week 15 against the Steelers, and while he admitted that he was not 100 percent for Sunday's game, he still managed to lead the team in receptions and receiving yards. Up next is a Week 17 winner-take-all game against the Panthers for the NFC South crown. Jones had six catches on 11 targets for 59 yards against Carolina back in Week 11.
Sun Dec 21 201411:36Jones officially active for Sunday's game against Saints
Jones is officially active for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Jones has not practiced since suffering the injury back in Week 14 against the Packers, a game in which he had a career-high 259 yards. He was a game-time decision for Week 15 against the Steelers but was unable to play, and he could very well be limited in Sunday's contest despite participating in Saturday's walkthrough. If that's the case, Harry Douglas could see more targets, much like he did against the Steelers when he caught 10 passes for 131 yards.
Sun Dec 21 201411:18Julio Jones: (Hip) Will Play Sunday
Jones (hip) will play Sunday against the Falcons, according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Jones has not practiced since suffering the injury in Week 14 against the Steelers, but after being listed as questionable, he reportedly showed enough in warmups to be given the green light. However, fantasy owners shouldn't expect a full workload given how much time he has missed due to the ailment.

The Falcons are optimistic that Jones (hip) will play Sunday against the Saints, according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Jones is officially questionable for the game, but he has yet to practice after suffering the injury Dec. 8. He was a game-time decision in Week 15 but was unable to play, and his lack of practice could indicate that he'll be limited in Sunday's game, if he is cleared to play. Harry Douglas figures to see more targets if Jones is unable to play his normal full workload.
Fri Dec 19 201412:38Julio Jones: (Hip) Questionable for Sunday
After not practicing Friday, Jones (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Jones still has not practiced since suffering the injury Dec. 8, but the Falcons remain somewhat optimistic that he will be able to play. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jones will attempt to run and cut on Saturday, and his recovery from that workout will help the Falcons determine his availability for Sunday. In other words, he's a true game-time decision, and anyone planning to use Jones this week will need to check back Sunday to confirm his availability (or lack thereof).
Fri Dec 19 201411:13Julio Jones: (Hip) Not Spotted At Friday's Practice
Jones (hip) was not present during the media portion of Friday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
It's possible Jones could get some work in behind the scenes Friday, but his absence from the open part of Friday's session hardly bodes well for his chances of suiting up this week. Expect the Falcons to provide an update on Jones' status when they release their final injury report of the week Friday afternoon.
Thu Dec 18 201412:23Julio Jones: (Hip) No Practice Thursday
Jones (hip) was a non-participant in practice Thursday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Jones' continued absence decreases the likelihood that he takes the field in Week 16 at New Orleans, but coach Mike Smith stated Wednesday that the final call on the wide receiver's availability won't be made until the release of the Falcons' inactive list at 11:30 AM ET on Sunday.
Wed Dec 17 201415:25Julio Jones: (Hip) Doesn't Practice Wednesday
Jones (hip) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jones has yet to make an appearance of any kind, practice or otherwise, since suffering a hip injury in Week 14 at Green Bay. According to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com, coach Mike Smith relayed Wednesday that a decision won't me made regarding Jones' Week 16 availability until 11:30 AM ET on Sunday morning, meaning not much may be revealed by the release of Friday's injury report.
Wed Dec 17 201414:12Jones (hip) wasn't present at start of practice Wednesday
Jones (hip) wasn't present at the start of practice Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Since the Falcons expect Jones to take the field Sunday in New Orleans, his absence may not be much more than a precautionary measure. No matter, continue to monitor his practice participation as the week of practice unfolds to ensure he attains active status in Week 16.

The Falcons anticipate that Jones (hip) will be ready to play this coming Sunday against the Saints, the team's official site reports.
According to coach Mike Smith, the wideout was "darn close" to playing against the Steelers on Sunday before being ruled out by the Falcons' medical staff. With that in mind, in the absence of any setbacks as the week continues, there appears to be a good chance that Jones will return to action in Week 16.
Sun Dec 14 201411:26Julio Jones: (Hip) Inactive Sunday
Jones (hip) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The development isn't a surprise due to Jones' failure to practice all week. In his stead, Roddy White (ankle) and Harry Douglas (foot) will be the preferred options for Matt Ryan and a Falcons passing attack that has averaged 42 pass attempts per game over the past four weeks.

ESPN's Vaughn McClure relays that a "source with knowledge of the situation" indicates that Jones (hip) is in line to be out for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Previous reports suggested that Jones would be a game-time decision, so we'll await official confirmation of his status as Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff approaches, but at this stage it looks as though the Falcons' wideout corps this week is in line to be headed by Roddy White and Harry Douglas.

Jones (hip) remains a game-day decision for Sunday's game against the Steelers, NFL Network's Jeff Darlington reports.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jones ran on Saturday and the Falcons are slated to test out the wideout at the stadium in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. If Jones is out, or limited at all in the contest, fellow WR Harry Douglas would figure to see added opportunities in the Falcons' Week 15 offense.
Sat Dec 13 201411:08Julio Jones: (Hip) May Be Limited to Decoy Role
D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution expects Jones (hip) to be limited to a decoy role if he plays against Pittsburgh on Sunday. According to Ledbetter, Jones can "barely run."
Jones was unable to practice all week and Ledbetter's comments give reason to think Jones didn't do much on the side of the field during practice, either. This is just one writer's opinion, but it is generally difficult to find concrete reasons for optimism with Jones' Week 15 situation. He can't be ruled out at this point, but it seems unlikely that Jones will be near full strength if he does play Sunday.

Head coach Mike Smith said Friday that a decision on Jones - who is questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers with a hip injury - will be made by the team's medical staff, not by Smith or Jones, ESPN.com reports.
Jones will be a game-time decision, but it will be the medical staff making the call. "I want the doctors and the people to say that he's ready to go," Smith said. "It's not going to be a decision I'm going to make. It's not a decision that Julio is going to make. They're going to evaluate it and make that decision." We'll have clarity on Jones one way or another about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff when the Falcons release their official inactives list.

Jones (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
No surprise here. Jones remains on track to be a game-time decision after missing practice all week. If he plays, he's still a must-start in nearly all formats, even if he is a bit gimpy due to the hip. The Steelers' pass defense has been especially porous recently, surrendering 11 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown to A.J. Green last Sunday, one week after allowing Kenny Stills to rack up 162 yards and a touchdown.
Fri Dec 12 201411:27Jones (hip) not at practice Friday
Jones (hip) was not at practice Friday, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.
As head coach Mike Smith indicated Thursday, Jones will likely be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with Pittsburgh. Look for the Falcons to list him as questionable when they release their official injury designations. Jones is coming off a monster game and has a tantalizing matchup against a floundering Steelers pass defense, but anyone hoping to use him will have to wait until the inactives are announced before Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.
Thu Dec 11 201413:31Jones (hip) did not practice Thursday
Jones (hip) did not practice Thursday.
That said, coach Mike Smith encouragingly noted Thursday that there is a good chance that Jones will be ready to play this weekend, though the report suggests that the wideout is likely to emerge as a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Fortunately for those considering Jones in their Week 15 lineups, the Falcons kick off at 1:00 ET on Sunday.
Wed Dec 10 201414:01Julio Jones: (Hip) No Practice Wednesday
Jones (hip) didn't take part in practice Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jones and the Falcons have been deceptive with the hip injury suffered during Monday's loss at Green Bay, but coach Mike Smith said after practice that the wide receiver will take the field Sunday against the Steelers, if he achieves the requisite level of health. Coming off one of the most productive three-game stretches of his career -- 26 receptions (on 42 targets) for 516 yards and three touchdowns -- Jones' presence in Week 15 would clearly boost the prospects of owners still in contention for fantasy titles. As a result, continue to monitor his status as the week rolls along.
