Mon Jun 4 201213:15Forsett competing with undrafted rookies
Texans coach Gary Kubiak says RB Justin Forsett will compete with undrafted rookies Davin Meggett and Jonathan Grimes for the team's third-string job.
The coaching staff likes Forsett's special teams ability. That and his experience edge should give him the upper hand on a roster spot unless Meggett proves to be the Texans' best option as a return specialist.

Sat Jun 2 201214:51Texans sign former Seahawks back Forsett
Texans agreed to terms with RB Justin Forsett, formerly of the Seahawks.
Forsett broke the news on his Twitter account. A seventh-round pick in 2008, Forsett appeared in all 48 games for the Seahawks the past three seasons, carrying the ball 278 times for 1,287 yards. He was more valuable as a pass catcher, notching 97 catches for 730 yards. A much different back than the man he'll be replacing as Houston's third-string runner, Derrick Ward, Forsett figures to see the large majority of his snaps on passing downs. Of course, barring injury to see Arian Foster or Ben Tate, he'll see very few snaps in general.

Fri May 25 201216:56Texans working out Forsett on Wednesday
The Texans will work out free agent Justin Forsett next Wednesday.
Forsett has drawn surprisingly scant interest since the end of last season, and it's believed this will be his first trip on the visit/workout circuit. In Houston, Forsett could be the No. 3 running back behind Arian Foster and Ben Tate.

Sun Nov 20 201120:15Seahawks dust off Forsett for four carries
Justin Forsett rushed four times for 31 yards and a touchdown in Seattle's Week 11 win over the Rams.
He added a catch for two yards. Forsett had touched the ball just six times in Seattle's past four games, but was more involved today with the Seahawks going ground-and-pound against the Rams' 32 ranked run defense. Look for him to again be de-emphasized against Washington's stouter run defense in Week 12.

Sun Aug 28 201118:07Forsett to lose third-down role to L-Wash?
The Seattle Times believes Justin Forsett will lose the primary "scat-back role on third downs" to Leon Washington.
Forsett will have a role in Seattle's offense; we just don't know exactly what it will be if Washington takes over on obvious passing downs. He may take an occasional series from Marshawn Lynch as a change-of-pace option. There's very little fantasy upside in the Seattle backfield.

Sun Jan 16 201116:09Forsett exits late with an ankle injury
Justin Forsett sustained an ankle injury late in Sunday's Divisional Round contest against the Bears.
He's likely done for the day, and he'll have a full offseason to get healthy. Forsett rushed four times for just nine yards against a Chicago front-seven that dominated the Seahawks' offensive line. He added three receptions for 25 yards. Signed cheaply through 2011, Forsett will likely return in the change-of-pace role next year.
Sat Jan 8 201120:17Forsett gets six touches in victory
Justin Forsett gained 20 yards on four carries and caught two passes for 12 yards in Saturday's playoff win.
The game was close all afternoon and into the evening, so Forsett didn't play a major role in what many projected as a blowout victory for New Orleans. He'll return in Week 19 as the Seahawks' primary passing-down back.
Sun Nov 28 201019:49Forsett gets just four touches in loss
Justin Forsett rushed three times for two yards and added an eight-yard catch in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
Despite continued ineffective play from Marshawn Lynch, Forsett's role is not growing. He hasn't topped 13 touches since Week 4 and can't be trusted until the Seahawks change their mentality on Lynch. There's no sign that will be anytime soon.
Sun Nov 21 201020:30Forsett tallies one more carry than Lynch
Justin Forsett rushed eight times for 10 yards and added five receptions for 33 yards against the Saints in Week 11.
His actual line should be seven carries for 17 yards, as a busted fleaflicker led to a 7-yard loss. Working almost exclusively in garbage time Forsett was far more effective in the passing game, possessing the extra burst in the flat to get past the first down line that we have yet to see from Marshawn Lynch. Forsett's role was expected to grow after an impressive Week 10 performance, but he got just one more carry than Lynch. Marshawn's two fumbles in Week 11 should lead to an even bigger role for Forsett in Week 12.
Sun Nov 7 201019:41Justin Forsett has two touches in Week 9
Justin Forsett touched the ball twice in the Seahawks' Week 9 blowout loss to the Giants.
He had a negative carry and a five-yard catch. Forsett is averaging 8.25 touches per game since Marshawn Lynch took over the lead back role a month ago.
Sun Oct 31 201023:55Justin Forsett has eight touches in Week 8
Justin Forsett rushed five times for 11 yards and caught three passes for 23 yards in the Seahawks' Week 8 loss to Oakland.
Forsett's touches have declined in four straight weeks. The Seahawks never had a chance Sunday (the final was 33-3), but Forsett didn't do himself any favors in the backfield "competition" with a season-low 2.2 YPC. Forsett will continue to be involved on passing downs, but he's not posing any threat for the feature back job despite Marshawn Lynch's struggles.
Sun Oct 24 201019:48Justin Forsett gets 11 touches in win
Justin Forsett ran for 41 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for 31 yards in the Seahawks' Week 7 win over Arizona.
Forsett received 11 touches to Marshawn Lynch's 24. Though productive on a limited number of carries, Forsett isn't viewed as more than a situational player by Seattle's coaching staff. He's a poor fantasy option going forward.
Sun Oct 17 201018:28Forsett logs 67 rush yards, TD in Week 6 win
Seahawks RB Justin Forsett fared well in his new change-of-pace role, netting 67 rushing yards and a touchdown on ten carries. He also tacked on a 9-yard reception in the Seahawks' Week 6 upset at Chicago.
Forsett wasn't the answer as Seattle's featured back earlier in the season, but his shifty quickness complements recently-acquired Marshawn Lynch's so-called "beast mode" style of running quite well. Forsett can thank LT Russell Okung for pushing him into the end zone on a second-quarter 3rd-and 9 draw play that caught the Bears flat-footed. Now a backup to Lynch, Forsett is a weak fantasy option outside of deep PPR leagues.
Tue Oct 5 201017:05Forsett likely to lose starting job
Justin Forsett will feature-back duties following the Seahawks' acquisition of Marshawn Lynch.
It's hard to fault Forsett for the Seahawks' early-season struggles on the ground. He's playing as well as he did last season, but the offensive line isn't opening holes. This trade speaks more to coach Pete Carroll's long-held wish for a more physical early-down back with "attitude." Forsett is droppable in 12-team leagues as the lesser half of a potential committee attack.

Mon Oct 4 201010:03Forsett on the field for almost entire game
Justin Forsett was on the field for 57 of the Seahawks' 65 offensive snaps Sunday.
Forsett is getting his chance as the feature back, but is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry on 36 totes over the last two weeks. With the Seahawks headed into a bye, he's not a lock to retain every-down status.

Sun Oct 3 201017:05Forsett only so-so as 'Hawks featured back
RB Justin Forsett rushed the ball 19 times for 65 yards, and caught two passes for 10 yards in Seattle's Week 3 loss to the Rams.
Named the featured back earlier in the week, Forsett's performance was so-so. His 3.4 YPC was unimpressive, but his superior pass protection kept him on the field when the Seahawks were forced to throw more often in the second half. On pace for 860 rush yards, Forsett heads into the Week 5 bye as a mediocre RB2, so long as he retains feature-back duties.
Sat Oct 2 201013:17Forsett is the clear No. 1 RB in Seattle
Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com believes that Justin Forsett is the clear cut No. 1 running back in Seattle.
Said offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, "I think there is something about getting in a rhythm. You know, the first play you might read something different and just as you go with the game you sort of understand who you're playing and maybe you start to feel it a little more." Forsett appears to be solidly in the lead, and is a nice play against the Rams in Week 4.

Wed Sep 29 201009:39Carroll warns not to label Forsett just yet
Even though Justin Forsett got 17 of the Seahawks' 21 carries Sunday, coach Pete Carroll warned that the competition "is not closed at all."
Forsett has started all three games so far, but Week 3 was the first time he was used as a feature back. He didn't exactly separate himself by averaging 3.7 yards per carry. Still, Julius Jones did not touch the ball and Leon Washington had zero carries. This backfield will be unpredictable, but Forsett is the lead dog right now. He's a solid RB3 against the Rams leaky run defense this week.

Sun Sep 26 201023:43RB Forsett collects 63 yards in Week 3 win
RB Justin Forsett garnered 63 yards on 17 carries, and grabbed three passes for 31 yards in the Seahawks' Week 3 victory over San Diego.
With Julius Jones a non-factor and Leon Washington focused on kick returns, Forsett served as the Seahawks' featured back, and provided decent stats against a Charger defense missing several key linebackers. Provided his role doesn't change, he should be a fair-to-decent RB3/flex option Week 4 at St. Louis.
Sun Sep 19 201019:39Forsett leads team in rushing with 44 yards
Justin Forsett led the Seahawks with 44 rushing yards on just eight attempts while adding just one receptions for 8 yards against the Broncos Week 2.
His production was eerily similar to his Week 1 numbers (43 yards on seven carries), and don't expect much more in the coming weeks. He isn't a weekly fantasy factor, but should be stashed in most formats.
