NEW YORK (AP) — Tomas Nido had his first two-homer game as a professional, hitting a two-run shot in the fourth and a grand slam in the fifth to lead the New York Mets to an 8-2 win over the Washington Nationals on Thursday and a split of the four-game series.Nido is just the fifth catcher in Mets history to hit at least two homers and collect at least six RBIs in a game. ATLANTA (AP) — The New York Mets pulled infielders Jeff McNeil, Robinson Canó and Amed Rosario from a game against the Atlanta Braves on Monday night due to injury.McNeil was scratched just before first pitch after experiencing lower back tightness during his pregame routine in the batting cage. The 2019 All-Star was set to make his first start of the season in left field. He's hitting .343 this season.Rosario was pulled in the third inning with tightness in his left quad. The shortstop grounded out to end the top half of the third but did not run hard down the line. He left the field with a trainer and was replaced at shortstop by Andrés Giménez, who moved over from third base. Luis Guillorme took over at third.Canó left with tightness in his left groin two innings later. It wasn't clear when Canó suffered the injury. The 37-year-old second baseman, coming off a lousy first season with the Mets, had two hits Monday before exiting and is batting .412 this season.Rosario was hurt not long after Braves ace Mike Soroka collapsed to the infield grass with a right leg injury.
