RHP Jeremy Hellickson, acquired from the Phillies in a trade on Friday, joined the Orioles on Monday and will start Wednesday against the Royals. He is familiar with Oriole Park after pitching there with the Rays for four seasons. He is eager to help the playoff push. "There's still two months of baseball to play," he said. "I've been part of teams that came back from nine back. It'll be a fun two months. I just hope I can help the team win."

RHP Jeremy Hellickson, who was acquired in a trade from Philadelphia on Friday, wasn't with the club Saturday after being involved in an accident. Hellickson is fine but his girlfriend had to go to the emergency room. Hellickson will go to Baltimore and throw Sunday there. Manager Buck Showalter wouldn't divulge when Hellickson would make his Baltimore debut. "We've got a tentative idea, but until we know how he's feeling I just don't want to get ahead of ourselves and start moving a lot of other people around," Showalter said.

RHP Jeremy Hellickson expects to make his next start after cramping in his right leg forced him from his start Sunday after just five innings. Hellickson earned his first victory since May 19, holding Milwaukee to two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven.

RHP Jeremy Hellickson's streak of winless starts ran to nine Thursday night as he received a no-decision in a 6-3 Pittsburgh win. Hellickson (5-5), who hasn't won a game since May 19, gave up three runs (all earned) on five hits in six innings before departing for a pinch hitter after throwing 77 pitches. He was hurt by a pair of home runs in the fourth inning, both of which came on change-ups up in the zone. He's now given up 20 home runs in 18 starts after yielding 24 in 32 starts a year ago.

RHP Jeremy Hellickson takes the mound Thursday night to close out a four-game series against Pittsburgh. Though he hasn't had a decision in each of his last three starts, he's generally pitched well, giving up six runs (all earned) in 19 1/3 innings (2.79 ERA) during that span. He stuck out seven, four on a changeup, in his first start at Chase Field since spending 2015 with the Diamondbacks. "I think it is the life on the fastball is getting back to where it was, and it is effecting the (success of the) changeup," Hellickson said. Hellickson was 9-12 with a 4.62 ERA in 27 starts in his one season with Arizona before signing with the Phillies that winter.

Since ending April with a 4-0 record and 1.80 ERA, Hellickson is 1-5 with a 6.89 ERA. "The last month and a half has been pretty frustrating," he said. "Sprinkled a couple good (starts) in there, but I just pride myself on being consistent and giving us a chance to win every night, and I haven't done that too often the last seven or eight starts."

RHP Jeremy Hellickson faces the Boston Red Sox for the 15th time in his career when the four-game "series" between the teams shifts to Philadelphia Wednesday night. Hellickson is 4-3 with a 4.41 ERA in the first 14 starts against Boston. Those numbers are better than his recent 2017 numbers - he is 0-3 with one no-decision and a 6.85 ERA (6.43 in his last eight starts), allowing 28 hits and five home runs while walking nine in 22 1/3 innings. RHP Jeremy Hellickson worked around 10 hits and a walk in six innings Friday night but ultimately absorbed his fourth loss of the year. Hellickson kept the damage to three runs and fanned five, tying his season high originally set on April 21 against Atlanta. But the one pitch that consigned him to the loss was a 1-2 offering in the fifth that Aledmys Diaz swatted to the seats in left-center field for a homer.

In four May starts, Hellickson is 1-2 with a 7.30 ERA (20 ER, 24 1/3 IP). "(Hellickson) had that one bad inning, he had poor command of his changeup," Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said. "He was yanking his changeup, not locating it. That's his out pitch and he didn't have it tonight."
