Rondon (shoulder) tossed a scoreless inning Sunday in a rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.
Rondon's scoreless outing was just the fourth time in nine attempts that he didn't allow a runner to cross the plate, as the right-hander has surrendered six earned runs in his last three outings combined. He threw just 10 of his 22 pitches for strikes and did walk a batter, so the command likely isn't quite where he wants it to be just yet. Rondon will likely continue to make rehab appearances on an indefinite timetable, and will have to show progress over multiple outings before getting an opportunity to serve in the Detroit bullpen.

Rondon (shoulder) was hit hard Saturday night in his second rehab start with the Toledo Mud Hens. He failed to last two innings, which had been the plan, after allowing four hits and four earned runs while walking three and striking out one. He managed to get just three outs.
After the game, the Mud Hens' manager, Larry Parrish, didn't mince his words: "As bad as his line looked, it was probably worse than that. We talked about it before the game, what he needs to do. Tonight, he didn't do it all." Rondon missed all of last season after Tommy John surgery and has been on the DL all of this season with right biceps tendinitis. At this point, he won't be back with Tigers any time soon.

Rondon (shoulder) will throw two innings for Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, MLive's Chris Iott reports.
He has given up five earned runs in 5.2 innings so far with Toledo, but the fact that he will make another appearance at Triple-A suggests he may be close to being activated. Of course, his activation does not guarantee that he immediately joins the Tigers, but that is a possibility. Joakim Soria has a pretty firm hold on the closer role in Detroit.

Rondon (shoulder) will make an extended outing Tuesday with the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens and could be activated from the disabled list if he does not report discomfort, reports MLive.com.
He's been firing his fastball from 96 to 99 mph in rehab starts and has pitched back-to-back days without discomfort. However, he may not be immediately recalled because there may not be room for him in the Tigers' bullpen. He has the ability to be an elite reliever in the majors, so it will be difficult for the team to keep him on assignment or in the minors. A decision should come Wednesday.

Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Bruce Rondon, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, will pitch for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday and could be activated from the disabled list if all goes well, according to MLive.com. Rondon pitched a perfect eighth inning and earned the win in his second rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, MLive.com reports.
Rondon retired the side on just 10 pitches, twice reaching 98 miles per hour. The reliever did not report any discomfort following the outing, and manager Brad Ausmus was impressed. "He looked good," Ausmus said. "It's more indicative that his arm feels good than anything else. I'm not nearly as enamored with velocity as a lot of people are." Rondon will travel with Toledo on its upcoming 10-game road swing and is expected to pitch an inning Tuesday. After that, he's slated to make appearances Friday and Saturday with an extended outing scheduled for early next week. Given this news, it does not appear Rondon will return to the Tigers before the end of the month.

Rondon will make his next rehab appearance Sunday at Triple-A Toledo, Chris Iott of mlive.com reports.
Rondon made his first rehab appearance Thursday and threw 22 pitches over two-thirds of an inning. He'll need to pitch on back-to-back days before rejoining the Tigers, but has a scheduled off day on Monday, which means he likely won't rejoin the Tigers until late next week.

Rondon begins his assignment at Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, and he's scheduled to pitch Sunday, as well. Ausmus indicated that Rondon will not pitch Monday, so it appears as though he won't be able to return to the Tigers until later next week at the earliest.

Rondon (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Now over 14 months removed from going under the knife for Tommy John surgery, Rondon appears to be reaching the home stretch of working his way back to the major league team. He's scheduled to pitch for the Triple-A squad both Thursday and Sunday, but he'll likely need at least a few more appearances after that before rejoining the big league bullpen.

Rondon (shoulder) was impressive in a 25-pitch session to live hitters Monday, MLB.com reports. "He looked really good," manager Brad Ausmus said.
Rondon, 14 months removed from Tommy John surgery, threw all of his pitches Monday, but the team will wait to evaluate him until Tuesday morning. If he's not experiencing soreness, Ausmus said the team will decide whether to schedule another live pitching session or send Rondon on a Minor League rehab stint. Either way, Rondon appears to be making progress and a return to the big league roster should come within the next several weeks.

Rondon (shoulder) threw 40 pitches from flat ground Friday, George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports.
He experienced soreness while throwing to hitters last week but a recent MRI revealed no additional damage. Rondon will continue to rehab with the team this weekend and it does not sound like he will be activated in the very near future since he was only throwing from flat ground Friday.
Tue May 5 201517:39Rondon (shoulder) will continue rehab with Tigers this weekend
Rondon (shoulder) will continue his rehab with the Tigers this weekend, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.
It's not clear when he will be able to be activated from the DL, but the Tigers apparently want Rondon working in close proximity to the team doctors. He has thrown bullpen sessions recently without issue, and could slot into a seventh or eighth inning role at some point this season for the Tigers.

Manager Brad Ausmus indicated Rondon's (shoulder) live bullpen session Thursday went without issue, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rondon's expected to require at least one more bullpen session, but his timetable for returning to the Tigers' bullpen remains up in the air. With Joe Nathan (elbow) out for the season, he could be one of the top options for saves should Joakim Soria falter or suffer an injury.
Thu Apr 30 201518:00Rondon (shoulder) scheduled to face live batters Thursday
Rondon (shoulder) is scheduled to face live batters Thursday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rondon continues to progress as expected, making it possible he rejoins the Tigers at some point in May, possibly even by the middle of the month. With Joe Nathan (elbow) out for the season, Rondon may find himself behind only Joakim Soria in the pecking order for saves. Soria has thrived in the role thus far, converting all nine of his save opportunities while posting a 1.69 ERA.

Rondon (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a 20-pitch bullpen session in Florida on Thursday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Rondon is progressing as expected with each of his mound sessions, but he remains without a clear timetable. With Joe Nathan (elbow) now done for the season, Rondon could be the No. 2 option at closer behind Joakim Soria, who is expected to take over the duties immediately.
Wed Apr 22 201516:46Rondon (shoulder) threw 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday
Rondon (shoulder) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rondon was only able to throw fastballs in the session, so manager Brad Ausmus indicated he was hopeful the next step would be to mix in off-speed pitches. There's still no clear timetable for the 24-year-old, but he appears to be progressing well as he deals with biceps tendinitis.

Rondon (shoulder) threw both Saturday and Sunday and is scheduled to throw again Tuesday, Matthew B. Mowery of the Oakland Press reports.
Rondon has now thrown on three consecutive days as he was able to throw 15 pitches from 60 feet Friday. There's still no updated timetable on a possible return to the big league club, but the fact that the 24-year-old has been able to throw on back-to-back days without incident is encouraging news.
