Rondon (shoulder) threw 15 pitches from 60 feet Friday and felt fine, Matthew B. Mowery of the Oakland Press reports.
An updated timetable for his return to the Tigers' bullpen is not clear at the present time, but Rondon appears to be making steady progress as he moves through the final stages of rehab from a bout with biceps tendinitis.
Thu Apr 9 201523:51Rondon (biceps) throwing without discomfort
Rondon (biceps) has been throwing without discomfort, according to Tigers' manager Brad Ausmus. He was put on the disabled list April 1.
It's long toss and not off the mound, but it's a great sign. He could be back sooner rather than later. The Tigers haven't needed him yet -- they've been locked and loaded in three wins thus far. But it will be good to get him back in there -- he'll deliver a few holds and will certainly take the pressure off the Tigers' relief corps.

Rondon is dealing with shoulder tendinitis that was discovered during a recent MRI, Dana Wakiji of FOX Sports Detroit reports.
Rondon doesn't expect the ailment to be serious, but it may sideline the reliever for a few days leading up to the regular season. The right-hander has allowed four earned runs on 10 hits over 7.1 innings this spring, and expects to work in middle relief in the majors in 2015.
Wed Apr 1 201516:18Rondon not available to pitch Wednesday with sore shoulder
Rondon was not available to pitch Wednesday with a sore shoulder, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Rondon had previously been sidelined with a neck injury but it appears the shoulder soreness is a separate issue for the 24-year-old. The exact extent of this setback is not immediately clear, but he should be in line to serve as a late-inning reliever for the Tigers if he can stay healthy.
Mon Mar 30 201512:14Rondon (neck) will not pitch Monday
Rondon (neck) will not pitch Monday, Fox Sports Detroit's Dana Wakiji reports.
From what has been reported, the injury is believed to be minor, but he will be sidelined for a second straight day Monday. Consider him day-to-day for now, and look for Rondon to start the year in the Tigers' bullpen.
Sun Mar 29 201513:05Rondon (neck) will not pitch Sunday
Rondon (neck) will not pitch Sunday, but the injury is believed to be minor, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Rondon is questionable to pitch Sunday due to a cramp in his neck, MLive.com reports.
He'll be fine in a matter of days, and could even pitch Sunday if he feels better than he did Saturday. Rondon has turned in four scoreless appearances in seven trips to the mound this spring, but he's been knocked around in his other appearances and has allowed four runs on 10 hits over 6.1 innings this season. If he can stay healthy, Rondon figures to pitch in a late-inning role for the Tigers as the season progresses.
Tue Mar 17 201515:33Rondon (elbow) not expected to need any extra time in Florida
Rondon (elbow) is not expected to need any extra time in Florida, Lynn G. Henning of The Detroit News reports.
Rondon has reportedly been throwing well, and he should be fine for the start of the season. At this point, it seems only a setback could prevent him from breaking camp with the Tigers.

Rondon (elbow) had a successful Grapefruit League debut Thursday against the Phillies, pitching a scoreless inning.
Making his first appearance in a game since undergoing Tommy John surgery 11 months ago, Rondon showed seemingly no signs of injury. Rondon pumped in his first three pitches at 97, 98, and 100 miles per hour, respectively, per MLive.com's James Schmehl, while reporting nothing besides the normal soreness. The Tigers could limit Rondon's workload early in spring, but if all continues to go well in his subsequent outings, he'll have a good shot at breaking camp with the Tigers.
Mon Mar 9 201511:37Rondon (elbow) on track to make spring debut Thursday
Rondon (elbow) is on track to make his spring debut Thursday, MLive's James Schmehl reports.
He threw to live hitters Monday and seems to be progressing well so far this spring. Assuming there are no setbacks, he should be ready to go for the start of the season. His command and control is perhaps the bigger factor in his fantasy profile for 2015 than his health at this point. Keep an eye on how he does in Thursday's Grapefruit League appearance.

Rondon (elbow) will throw at least one more live batting practice session before making his Grapefruit League debut, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The Tigers have brought Rondon along slowly this spring, not wanting the right-hander to push it too hard and risk a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. GM Dave Dombrowki stressed to Rondon that he didn't need to see him throw 100 in the first days of camp. That said, it sounds like Rondon is nearing a return to game action, still less than a year removed from the reconstructive elbow procedure.

Rondon (elbow) threw roughly 35 pitches at about 50 percent in a bullpen session Tuesday, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rondon has logged a handful of bullpens in the weeks since he returned to the mound, tossing one every three days or so. The hard-throwing right-hander said after Tuesday's session that he feels "really good," and the plan is for him to slowly ramp up his intensity on the mound as the spring rolls on. Rondon missed all of last season following Tommy John surgery, and GM Dave Dombrowski stressed that he didn't need to see Rondon throw 100 mph in the first days of camp.

Rondon (elbow) has been long-tossing and plans to throw five or six bullpen sessions in hopes of returning by the start of spring training, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rondon missed all of 2014 after undergoing elbow surgery last spring, but is on track to return at around the time pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 19. He posted a 3.45 ERA in 30 games in his first stint with the big league club in 2013, and the 24-year-old should get another shot to work out of the bullpen in the majors in 2015.

Rondon (elbow) remains on track to be ready for the start of spring training, MLive.com reports.
The team's confidence in Rondon is one reason the Tigers have been unwilling to pay a premium for additional bullpen arms to this point in the offseason. Rondon is expected to report to Lakeland in January to being early preparations for spring training after missing all of 2014 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. In his last healthy season in 2013, Rondon had a 70:24 K:BB over 58.1 innings split between Detroit and Triple-A Toledo.
Tue Oct 14 201415:12Rondon (elbow) expected to be ready for start of spring training
Rondon (elbow) is expected to be ready for the start of spring training, James Shmehl of MLive.com reports.
Although he'll be less than 11 months removed from Tommy John surgery when pitchers and catchers report, Rondon should be ready to go, according to GM Dave Dombrowki. A candidate for the setup role coming into 2014 spring training, Rondon averaged better than 99 miles per hour on his fastball during his first run in the majors in 2013 and is still just 23 years old.

Fri Mar 21 201412:20Bruce Rondon to have Tommy John surgery
Bruce Rondon needs Tommy John surgery and will miss all of the 2014 season.
Rondon dealt with elbow issues last season, but he was feeling fine in camp until earlier this week when he reported some soreness to the Tigers. As it turns out, an exam revealed the worst possible news. With Rondon on the shelf, Joba Chamberlain is the favorite to be Joe Nathan's setup man. Al Alburquerque should also see more high-leverage innings.

Fri Mar 7 201420:48Bruce Rondon dealing with minor back injury
Bruce Rondon was scratched from his scheduled appearance on Friday due to a minor back injury.
The issue isn't believed to be serious, and the hefty right-hander is scheduled to take the hill on Saturday instead. The fire-balling 23-year-old is being entrusted as the primary setup man for Joe Nathan entering the 2014 season.
