Thu Nov 2 202314:30Corey Seager Wins Second World Series MVP Award
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager helped the Rangers win their first-ever World Series title on Wednesday night by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks, and he also was named World Series MVP for the second time in his career, becoming just the fourth player in MLB history to do so. Seager and Reggie Jackson are the only two players to have ever won two World Series MVP awards with two different teams, with Seager's first coming in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also won the NLCS MVP that year. The 29-year-old lefty slugger went deep in three of the five games of the Fall Classic and went 6-for-21 (.286) with three home runs, a double, three walks, six RBI and six runs scored in total in the series. Seager now has two World Series titles, two World Series MVPs, the 2020 NLCS MVP, the 2016 NL Rookie of the Year award, two Silver Sluggers and four All-Star appearances.

Mon Oct 9 202303:21Corey Seager Walks To History Sunday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager had a history-making performance on Sunday, going 0-for-1 with five walks and two runs scored in an 11-8 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Seager became the first player to ever walk five times in one playoff game, and in doing so he led the Rangers to a 2-0 series lead. The O's just didn't want to mess with Seager in this one, which is fair given his second-place finishes in AVG, OPS, and SLG in the AL this season. Unfortunately for them, the rest of the Rangers lineup is also pretty ferocious and took advantage.

Thu Oct 5 202312:48Corey Seager Has Been Clutch In Postseason
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager has plenty of playoff experience and always seems to come up clutch at the plate. He went 4-for-8 with three doubles and two RBI in the two-game sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild-card series. In 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers when they won the World Series, Seager won both the NLCS MVP and the World Series MVP. He hit five home runs and had 11 RBI in the seven-game NLCS and then hit .400 (8-for-20) with two more homers and five RBI in the World Series. Despite missing more than 40 games in 2023 with hamstring, thumb and forearm injuries, Seager hit .327 with 33 home runs and 96 RBI in his second year with the Rangers. He and Texas' offense will be a force to be reckoned with as they take on the Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division Series.

Wed Sep 27 202318:54Corey Seager To Play On Wednesday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (forearm) is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This is great news after Seager was hit by a pitch in the forearm on Tuesday. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative, so it appears Seager has avoided serious injury. The 29-year-old will bat second and cover shortstop versus right-hander Griffin Canning on Wednesday. Fantasy managers can get Seager back in their lineups here.

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (forearm) said he feels fine after suffering a right forearm bruise in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Angels, per Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. Seager was hit by a pitch and exited the game early, but X-rays showed no fracture. Seager should be considered day-to-day at this time. This is great news for the Rangers and fantasy managers, as it sounds like Seager could return to the lineup as early as Wednesday.

Wed Sep 27 202300:07Corey Seager Exits Early With Right Forearm Contusion
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (forearm) exited Tuesday's game against the Angels in the bottom of the sixth inning after being hit by a pitch in the top of the fifth. He had gone 1-for-2 with a single. While it was somewhat encouraging to see him stay in the game initially, fantasy managers will need to keep an eye out for further news after the game. This comes at a very poor time for the Rangers and fantasy managers, as Seager has been an offensive juggernaut, slashing .332/.394/.640 with 33 home runs and 96 RBI.

Wed Aug 16 202309:14Corey Seager Launches Pair Of Long Balls Tuesday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager had a big night at the plate on Tuesday night, slugging two home runs as part of a three-hit effort while driving in five runs in his club's 7-3 triumph over the Angels. The impressive night at the dish added to what has been a monster season for the 29-year-old in his second campaign with the Rangers. Despite making a pair of trips to the injured list, Seager is now hitting .350 with 22 home runs and a 1.076 OPS across 77 appearances on the season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect a significant drop in production, either, as Seager's .441 xwOBA sits in the league's 99th percentile and is only a mere five points below his current .446 wOBA.

Wed Aug 9 202314:12Corey Seager Getting Some Rest Wednesday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is getting a day off on Wednesday as his club takes on the Oakland A's and right-hander Austin Pruitt. It's certainly a well-earned day off for the former Dodger who went 3-for-5 with a homer and an RBI double to help steer the Rangers to a 6-1 win over the A's on Tuesday. Despite making a pair of trips to the injured list this season, Seager is in the midst of a career year that has seen him hit .353 with 19 homers and a 1.069 OPS across 72 games played. While those video-game numbers could appear unsustainable, Seager's .437 xwOBA is only slightly below his .445 wOBA, so don't expect much, if any, regression moving forward.

Sun Aug 6 202313:18Corey Seager Taking A Seat On Sunday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Miami Marlins. This is just a day of rest for the veteran shortstop, who's been on fire since being activated from the injured list earlier this week. He's rocking a .313/.353/.875 with three home runs and six RBI across 16 bats over the last four contests. Josh H. Smith is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Sandy Alcantara and the Fish. Seager should be ready to go on Monday for the start of a three-game set against the Oakland Athletics.

Wed Aug 2 202323:29Corey Seager Records Two Hits In Return
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager made his return to the field during Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox. The left-handed slugger was previously on the 10-day injured list due to a thumb issue. Seager returned with a bang during Wednesday's game. He blasted a two-run home run off right-hander Dylan Cease during his first plate appearance. Seager followed that up by collecting another RBI with a base hit in the second inning. He was later replaced by Josh H. Smith once the game got out of hand. It doesn't appear that Seager has lost a step and he should be rostered in all formats right now.

Wed Aug 2 202317:38Corey Seager Returning From Injured List Wednesday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) is coming off the 10-day injured list on Wednesday and will start against the visiting Chicago White Sox and right-hander Dylan Cease. Seager did not go on a minor-league rehab assignment, but nevertheless, fantasy managers will want to get him right back into their starting lineups. The 29-year-old former Dodger is a big reason why the Rangers have one of the most feared lineups in baseball this year. He's returning to a strong .350/.413/.631 slash line with a 1.044 OPS, 15 home runs, 29 doubles, 58 RBI and 47 runs scored in 298 plate appearances and 66 games played. The four-time All-Star is a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's playing for Texas.

Sun Jul 30 202310:17Corey Seager Could Resume Swinging Soon
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) received a cortisone injection on Saturday. The 29-year-old also got the splint from his thumb removed and is expected to start taking swings again early this week. Seager was forced to the 10-day injured list last Saturday, July 22, after spraining his thumb during a head-first slide in July 21's game. If all goes well, the four-time All-Star could reasonably return to the fold as early as next weekend after Seager initially envisioned around a two-week timetable. He is hitting an AL-high .350 with 15 home runs, 58 RBI, 47 runs scored, and one stolen base over 268 at-bats this year.

Sat Jul 22 202316:11Corey Seager Officially Placed On Injured List
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) has been officially placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. As expected, Seager will miss some time after jamming his thumb while sliding into second base during Friday's game. Luckily, the MRI came back clean, so his IL stint shouldn't be too long. Ezequiel Duran should serve as the primary shortstop while Seager is out. Duran should be rostered in basically all fantasy formats right now. In a corresponding move, catcher Sam Huff has been recalled to take the spot on the active roster.

Sat Jul 22 202314:08Corey Seager Expected To Land On The Injured List
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) has gone off for an MRI on his sprained thumb, and while the results haven't come down yet, the team is anticipating him to go on the injured list. Well, that's a bummer to hear. Seager jammed his thumb while sliding into second base during Friday's loss to the Dodgers and the initial X-rays came back clean for structural damage. He was held out of Saturday's lineup as he was apparently still dealing with some soreness but it looks like the injury is worse than anticipated, hence the MRI. The Rangers are expected to provide an update before Saturday's game against the Dodgers. Stay tuned.

Sat Jul 22 202313:14Corey Seager Is Not In The Lineup On Saturday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) is not in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran shortstop sprained his thumb on a slide into second base during Friday's loss to the Dodgers so he'll be sitting out on Saturday and possibly Sunday as well. The good news is that the X-rays came back negative for any structural damage to his thumb, but he's likely dealing with some soreness. It'll be Ezequiel Duran covering shortstop in Seager's place against Bobby Miller and the Dodgers. Fantasy managers should consider Seager day-to-day for now.

Sat Jul 22 202310:04Corey Seager Day-To-Day With Sprained Thumb
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (thumb) suffered a sprained thumb while sliding head first towards second base in Friday's 11-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 29-year-old was legging out a double during the eighth inning of a four-run ballgame. After the play ended, Seager immediately jogged off the field in visible pain as his right arm hung limp. Josh H. Smith pinch-ran for him. Seager received a relieving update following the contest, though, after X-rays returned negative. Fantasy managers can exhale for the moment with Seager fortunately in a day-to-day situation considering how concerning the injury appeared. After going 2-for-3 with a home run in this one, the 2023 All-Star is slashing an incredible .350/.413/.631 with 15 homers, 58 RBI, and one stolen base in 263 at-bats this year.

Texas scored 12 unanswered runs in this one, with Seager doubling in the tying run in the seventh inning to knot the game up at 4-4. The 29-year-old didn't stop there, launching a solo homer in the eighth frame to help cap off the rousing uprising. Seager is batting an AL-best .353 to go with a 1.026 OPS, 12 big flies, 52 RBI, and one stolen base over 238 at-bats this year. The 2023 All-Star trails only Elly De La Cruz in per-game value in Yahoo roto leagues among shortstops thus far this season.

Fri Jul 7 202301:16Corey Seager Picks Up Three More Hits
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 10-6 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. Seager picked up a pair of singles in this contest before he unloaded on a Justin Garza offering in the top of the ninth inning, going opposite field over the Green Monster for his 11th home run of the season. The 29-year-old shortstop has been absolutely sensational this season and that's why he's the well-deserved starting shortstop for the American League in the Midsummer classic. Seager owns a crazy .360/.422/.618 batting line to go along with 11 home runs, 51 RBI, and one stolen base over 225 at-bats.

Thu Jun 29 202312:51Corey Seager Not In Rangers Lineup Thursday
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager is out of the team's starting lineup on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers. In his place, Josh H. Smith will start at shortstop and bat ninth against Tigers right-hander Reese Olson. It will just be a normal day of rest for Seager, who has been one of the best all-around hitters in baseball to this point in the season. The former Los Angeles Dodger has found a home in Texas and is slashing an eye-opening .345/.411/.609 with a 1.020 OPS, 10 home runs, 22 doubles, 48 RBI and 32 runs scored in 224 trips to the plate and 49 games. The three-time All-Star will be back in the team's lineup for the start of a series against the division-rival Houston Astros on Friday, and fantasy managers will want Seager back in their starting lineups.
