The 32-year-old had been in competition with Devin Harris and Raymond Felton. Despite gaining the favor of Carlisle, Nelson will likely have to divide his time on the court with his fellow point guards which limits his value. On top of this, Harris and Felton will continue to fight for the starting role and could jump over Nelson at any point during the season.
