Tue Dec 11 201219:07Al Harrington (knee) hopes to play by Feb.
Al Harrington (knee) said that he intends to play before the February trade deadline.
Harrington decided not to buy a house near Orlando beause he understands the likelihood that he'll be traded, and he's trying to show teams that he can still contribute after multiple knee surgeries. It would take an ideal situation for Harrington to have reliable fantasy value in average leagues, but he's worth watching as a potential stash.

Tue Nov 27 201209:15Al Harrington frustrated by knee rehab
Al Harrington admitted frustrations with his rehab from multiple knee surgeries.
"It's been tough," Harrington said. "I've been hurt before, but I've never been hurt in the beginning of a season. I've played in every home opener my whole career." Harrington hasn't been able to practice yet, and he's currently focused on "strengthening the muscles around his knee, especially his quadriceps." He also added that he had a timetable in mind, but would not disclose what it was.

Al Harrington (knee) has not been cleared to resume basketball activities.

Tue Oct 30 201203:44Report: Harrington two weeks away from drills
Al Harrington (knee) is two weeks away from on-court drills according to Magic GM Rob Hennigan.
Harrington is coming off of his fourth knee surgery, but owners shouldn't summarily dismiss him as a fantasy contributor this season. For those with deeper benches, and eventually all owners will need to give him a look -- as last year he proved he wasn't done putting up numbers. Once we get a positive report that his rehabilitation has found an actual return date, owners will want to consider a stash.

Wed Oct 24 201211:45Al Harrington to see specialist on Nov. 12
Al Harrington (knee, staph infection) will meet with a specialist on November 12, and if all goes well, he could be cleared to practice and play at that point.
Harrington's timetable remains fluid, and the team had previously projected a mid-December return, but it sounds like Harrington could be ready a bit before that. He's projected as the backup power forward, but he's got to get healthy before the Magic will pencil him into any role this year.

Fri Oct 19 201207:18Harrington targeting mid-December return
Al Harrington (knee, staph infection) will be ready for game action by mid-December according to team projections.
It has been very quiet on the Harrington front and we'd like to hear that he's practicing before getting behind this return date. When he does get back on the court, the fantasy value of anybody not named Big Baby is up for grabs in the Magic's frontcourt.

Fri Sep 21 201210:57Al Harrington (knee sugery) to miss all camp

Previously, Harrington had been considered questionable for training camp, but his knee hasn't healed to the point where he'll be ready. Harrington had at least three knee surgeries over the summer due to complications which resulted in the veteran having a staph infection, so keep an eye on his status closely as we move toward the regular season.

Thu Aug 30 201210:42Report: Al Harrington could be traded again
Al Harrington will "likely" be playing somewhere else by the trade deadline, according to Hoopsworld's Steve Kyler.
Magic beat writer Brian Schmitz previously tweeted that Harrington would "likely" be dealt during the season or next summer, and with the Magic rebuilding from the ground up, it wouldn't be surprising to see Harrington moved once again. As long as he's with the Magic, he should serve as a versatile scorer off the bench capable of knocking down the 3-point shot.

Thu Aug 16 201214:44Al Harrington likely to be traded by Magic?
Al Harrington is excited about playing for the Magic next season, and would like to stay with the team long-term, but he "likely will be dealt this season or next summer."
The Magic are unquestionably starting a long-term rebuilding project, making it unlikely that they'll commit much to keeping Harrington. He's likely to play a versatile role off the bench as long as he's with the Magic, however, as they can use help at center (Nikola Vucevic, Gustavo Ayon), power forward (Glen Davis, Josh McRoberts, Andrew Nicholson) and even small forward (Hedo Turkoglu, Quentin Richardson, Moe Harkless).

Thu Aug 9 201223:39Harrington head to Florida in Dwight deal
The Magic also received Al Harrington in Thursday's mega deal.
Harrington was an effective bench player for the Nuggets last year and finished last season with 14.2 PPG and 1.6 3-pointers per game. He has an excellent chance to match his 25.9 minutes per contest he posted last year and with the lack of talent currently on Orlando, Harrington is a desirable player to take in the second half of your draft.

Fri Jul 20 201220:51Harrington (knee) targeting opener for return
Al Harrington told Inside Hoops on Friday that he has had "like three surgeries" on his right knee over the summer, which were complicated by the fact he developed a staph infection.
"I had tore my meniscus in April, towards the end of the season or whatever, and got it fixed after Game 7 or whatever. And then I got a staph infection. So I was sick, man. I had like three surgeries," said Harrington. "And then a couple weeks later, they checked my knee again and it still was kinda cloudy in there. So I had to wait six weeks and take medicine and then I had surgery again this Monday. Hopefully it's the last one." He added that he's targeting the season opener for his return.

Fri May 25 201209:15Could Lakers target Al Harrington in summer?
The Los Angeles Times speculates on potential Lakers' offseason additions, including trading for Al Harrington.
The Lakers still have their $8.9 million trade exception available for use, and that will be key moving forward. The paper suggests sending a second-round pick and the trade exception to Denver for Harrington, a move that could benefit both sides. The Times also speculates on the following scenarios: an Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard swap, signing Raymond Felton for the "mini" midlevel, and trading a second-round pick and the trade exception for either Beno Udrih or Trevor Ariza. Needless to say, GM Mitch Kupchak has his work cut out for him this summer.

Sun May 13 201201:54Al Harrington (nose) gets hot in Game 7
Al Harrington (broken nose) shed his protective mask for Game 7 and his shot finally returned -- he scored 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting, with three 3-pointers.
Harrington was shooting 26 percent in the playoffs, but his hot hand helped Denver erase a huge second-half lead and stay competitive until the final buzzer on Saturday. He got hit in the nose and briefly left the game, but returned and seemed no worse for the wear. The Nuggets have him under contract for $6.7 million next season, followed by two partially-guaranteed years.

Al Harrington played through his broken nose in Tuesday's Game 5, but missed all seven of his shots (four from downtown) and had three points and five rebounds in the win over the Lakers.
Harrington was a warrior with a mask tonight, but wasn't effective with the mask on. He should be fine for Thursday's Game 6, but JaVale McGee is now the focal point in the middle for the Nuggets.

Al Harrington (broken nose) expects to play in Game 4 on Sunday.

Thu May 3 201208:19Al Harrington hampered by his knee injury
Al Harrington (torn meniscus) is shooting 8-of-27 through the first two games of the first-round series against the Lakers.
Harrington is also only averaging 10.5 points per game, well under his regular season average of 14.2. He's already previously admitted that the injury impacts his rebounding, and it's clear that he it's also hurting other areas of his game. It's admirable that he's playing through the injury, but he's nowhere near as effective as he had been earlier this season.
