Wed Mar 26 201400:35Jose Calderon looks terrific in win
Jose Calderon's mouth injury was not an issue during Tuesday's overtime win over the Thunder with 22 points, four boards, eight assists and six 3-pointers.
He caught an elbow to the face from Mason Plumlee over the weekend and had his best game in a long time tonight. His 22 points were his highest point total of 2014 and it's the most minutes he's played since Jan. 29. Devin Harris has been logging big minutes, but Calderon doesn't look to be in jeopardy of losing his role for the rest of the season.

Tue Mar 25 201411:55Jose Calderon will play Tuesday vs Thunder
Jose Calderon (mouth) will play against the Thunder on Tuesday.
Calderon is dealing with a swollen mouth after being elbowed in the face by Mason Plumlee on Sunday, but was able to go through Tuesday morning's shootaround and will be in uniform Tuesday night. Calderon is no longer the assist machine that he once was, but can still provide his fantasy owners with solid counting stats in the 3-pointer and assist category as long as he's healthy.

Mon Mar 24 201409:54Jose Calderon (mouth) questionable for Tues.
Jose Calderon is questionable to play on Tuesday after leaving Sunday's game with a mouth injury.
Calderon was elbowed in the face by Nets center Mason Plumlee and owners will have to stay tuned for updates. "I don't think it's serious, but I have not gotten an official word on it," said coach Rick Carlisle. "He's OK, but I think there's some stuff in his mouth they're looking at." If Calderon does miss any games, Devin Harris would likely start at PG with Shane Larkin as his primary backup.

Jose Calderon has not returned to Sunday's game after being hit by Mason Plumlee's elbow early in the first quarter.
He got hit flush in the nose and we're considering him questionable to return until the Mavs provide an update. Devin Harris would gain the most if Calderon misses any time.

Wed Feb 12 201422:26Jose Calderon limited by foul trouble on Wed.
Foul trouble plagued Jose Calderon throughout Wednesday's game, which he finished with just four points, four rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes.
Calderon shot 1-of-7 from the field, 1-of-5 from downtown, and even missed one of his two FT attempts. It was a thoroughly atypical performance from the veteran PG, but he still enters the All-Star break ranked fifth in the NBA in 3-point percentage (44.9 percent).

Sun Feb 9 201420:38Jose Calderon's 18 points pace Mavs in win
The Mavericks won easily in Boston on Sunday with help from Jose Calderon, who scored 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting with three 3-pointers, five rebounds and five assists.
The 32-year-old PG doesn't often look for his shot, but he was aggressive tonight and wound up with his highest scoring total since Dec. 20. His shooting percentages and assist-to-turnover ratio have been typically stellar, but his fantasy owners may be most pleased with the fact that he's missed just one game all season. Let's hope he can keep it up as Dallas chases a playoff spot after the All-Star break.

Thu Feb 6 201401:15Jose Calderon scores five points vs. Memphis
Jose Calderon's shot wasn't dropping on Wednesday vs. the Grizzlies, making 2-of-9 from the field for five points with one board, four assists and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes.
He's been one of the better shooting point guards on the season based on percentages, but he's in a bit of a slump right now. Over his last four, Calderon shot just 33.3 percent from the field. The Spaniard isn't going to have a high ceiling with his low usage rate, but he's a solid player to own due to his 2.5 triples per game on the season.

Sun Jan 19 201402:49Jose Calderon looks fine on Saturday
Jose Calderon's knee contusion didn't seem like a problem in Saturday's loss to the Blazers, playing 20 minutes for five points, two boards, three assists and one turnover.
He wasn't very aggressive with the ball, but that's never really been his game. Calderon has just 2.2 drives per game, which ranks 132nd in the NBA. Shane Larkin is playing very well and it could affect Calderon's playing time at least a little. To be clear, his owners shouldn't panic or anything and garbage time was a big factor.

Sat Jan 18 201419:06Jose Calderon (knee) ready to go vs. Blazers
Jose Calderon (bruised right knee) will be in the starting lineup vs. the Blazers on Saturday.
He was a bit iffy after banging his knee on Friday, but he'll give it a go vs. Damian Lillard and the Blazers. Shane Larkin is coming off an excellent game and Devin Harris (toe) is set to make his season debut, so coach Rick Carlisle will have some options if Calderon's knee gives him any trouble.

Sat Jan 18 201400:20Jose Calderon suffers knee contusion on Fri.
Jose Calderon suffered a right knee contusion during Friday's game against the Suns.
He said he started to feel pain in his knee in the first quarter and the pain continued in the third quarter, which allowed Shane Larkin to get some of the biggest minutes of his career. The Mavs just lost Gal Mekel to a torn meniscus and really can't afford to lose Calderon. He did say he felt fine after the game, so he has a chance to play on Saturday, but the team may want to re-evaluate him anyway. Calderon finished with four points, four assists and one steal.

Sat Dec 21 201301:24Calderon sizzles for 23 points, seven treys
Jose Calderon took over the fourth quarter of an eventual 109-108 overtime loss to the Raptors on Friday, scoring 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting (including seven 3-pointers) with four rebounds, nine assists and two steals.
All the big guns put up numbers tonight, as Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 points with nine rebounds, five assists and two treys, Monta Ellis went for 21 and 11 with four steals, and Shawn Marion scored 14 points with nine rebounds and four steals himself. All of them should be owned in all leagues, and tonight's output helped push Calderon up to top 50-70 value on the season (9/8 cat).

Sun Dec 15 201300:27Jose Calderon scores 18 points again
Jose Calderon made all four of his 3-pointers in the first quarter against the Bucks on Saturday, finishing with 18 points, one board, one assist and one turnover in 23 minutes.
It's his second game in a row with 18 points and he's been heating up since his return from an ankle injury earlier this month. In his previous five games, Calderon averaged 13.6 points, 3.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.6 triples in 30.4 minutes. He's doing a lot less ball-handling, but the added 3-point production gives him plenty of fantasy value.

Wed Dec 4 201319:57Jose Calderon will start vs. the Pelicans
Jose Calderon is in uniform for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans and will start.
He was a game-time decision for the past two nights and will start in each of those games. Calderon only scored 12 points on Tuesday and the bone bruise in his ankle has him at less than 100 percent.
