Wed Feb 8 201201:45Daequan Cook hits five more treys in win
Daequan Cook hit 6-of-8 shots and five 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 17 points, along with three assists, in Tuesday's win.
Cook is starting at shooting guard in place of Thabo Sefolosha and is hot. He's hit double figures in two of his last three games, but has done so in just three games this season. But he's also hit 17 threes in his last six games, and should continue to do so until Sefolosha is back from his foot injury. And given the fact Sefolosha remains out indefinitely, Cook could be a sneaky pick-and-play if you need 3-pointers.

Sat Feb 4 201202:48Cook plays 32 minutes in start for Thabo
Daequan Cook started for injured Thabo Sefolosha (foot) on Friday, playing 32 minutes with five points on 2-of-7 shooting (including a three), seven rebounds, and three blocks.
Everything but the 3-point shot in this line was a fluke, and if Cook continues to start then he'll be worth a look for that and nothing more.

Thu Feb 2 201201:12Daequan Cook quiet in start at SG
Daequan Cook started at shooting guard on Wednesday but had just five points in 25 minutes.
Thabo Sefolosha is out with a foot injury, while James Harden hit just 3-of-11 shots off the bench, failing to knock down a 3-pointer. However, Harden did have 10 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, meaning Cook (and Thabo) should continue to be ignored in most fantasy leagues.

Wed Feb 1 201218:59Daequan Cook to start at SG on Wednesday
Daequan Cook will start at SG for the Thunder on Wednesday, in place of injured Thabo Sefolosha.
Sefolosha is dealing with a sore foot and remains day-to-day. Cook's promotion means that James Harden will move back to his usual sixth-man role.

Wed Jan 11 201217:31Daequan Cook in a January shooting slump
During his first five games of January, Daequan Cook has shot just 3-for-15 from 3-point range while averaging 2.2 points per game.
It has been a streaky season for Cook, who averaged 7.6 points while shooting 12-for-21 on 3s in December. He should bounce back from this current slump, but remains off the fantasy radar in standard leagues.

Wed Jan 4 201207:41Daequan Cook returns to action Tuesday

Tue Jan 3 201211:05Daequan Cook doubtful to play on Tuesday
Daequan Cook (flu) is listed as doubtful to play on Tuesday.
Cook missed Monday's game with flu-like symptoms, and he's not yet recovered from the illness. He's officially day-to-day, but shouldn't miss much more (if any time) after Tuesday.

Mon Jan 2 201219:30Daequan Cook out for Monday with flu
Daequan Cook will not play on Monday due to flu-like symptoms.
Scott Brooks called Thabo Sefolosha "on the bubble" in regards to his status, and Lazar Hayward and Reggie Jackson are the guys to step into Cook and Sefolosha's minimal minutes. Brooks is a big believer in roles, so we're likely looking at Harden still coming off the bench, so don't get your hopes up.

Fri Dec 9 201117:37Thunder extend Daequan Cook for two years
The Thunder re-signed shooting guard Daequan Cook for two years and a reported $7.5 million on Friday.
He's a 3-point specialist who shouldn't be worth owning in most leagues this season.

Mon Jun 27 201116:10Thunder make Cook restricted free agent
The Thunder made a qualifying offer to guard Daequan Cook, making him a restricted free agent.
The Thunder will have the right to match any offer he receives, and our guess is he'll end up back with the Thunder as a backup guard.

Thu Jun 16 201110:08Daequan Cook wants back with Thunder
Free agent Daequan Cook said his preference is to remain with the Thunder.
The Thunder can make Cook a restricted free agent by extending a qualifying offer by June 30. That would allow them to match any offers. Cook averaged 5.6 points per game as a spot shooter off the bench last season.

Mon Mar 14 201122:31Cook hits six threes in blowout win over WAS
Daequan Cook hit 6-of-9 shots from the field (all threes) in Monday's blowout win, scoring 18 points with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 19 minutes.
This is a total fluke and should be ignored by owners even in the deepest of leagues.

Tue Feb 15 201123:35Cook scores season-high 20 points in blowout
Daequan Cook scored a season-high 20 points in the Thunder's blowout win over the Kings on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-9 shots from the field (including five threes) with five rebounds and no other statistics in 21 minutes.
This result is totally a fluke, as the Thunder were mopping up the Kings and Cook joined in on the fun. Leave him on the waiver wire.
Sun Jan 30 201116:29Daequan Cook sees big minutes as reserve
Daequan Cook saw a full compliment of minutes on Sunday and scored 13 points including three 3-pointers in a reserve role for the Thunder.
The Thunder opted for a smaller lineup to counter Dwayne Wade and LeBron James of the Heat. He had an efficient shooting performance but he's certain to see his minutes go back down when the Thunder return to a bigger lineup.
Thu Nov 4 201003:09With Harden struggling, Cook could emerge
Daequan Cook hit three 3-pointers to score 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting Wednesday.
James Harden was awful again, hitting just 1-of-7 shots for two points. It's possible Scott Brooks has already bumped Cook up on the depth chart as the team's designated 3-point shooter off the bench.
Tue Oct 12 201005:15Cook (concussion) returns to action
After an eight-day absence due to a concussion, Daequan Cook returned to action on Friday and hit his first four 3-point attempts (though one was waved off due to an offensive foul).
It's no surprise that he's hitting threes, but instead the question is whether or not he'll earn a spot in the bench rotation. Eric Maynor and James Harden are the clear backups in the backcourt, but if Cook gets hot he could become a 3-point specialist for your fantasy squad.
Wed Jun 23 201017:41Report: Heat trade Cook and No. 18 to OKC
ESPN is reporting the Heat have traded Daequan Cook and the No. 18 pick to the Thunder for the No. 32 pick.
Ho hum, although it does save the Heat another $3 million off the salary cap. Cook could also become a deadly 3-point specialist in OKC, but really struggled last year in Miami. The Heat also save money in that they won't have to pay the guy they get at 32 as much as the No. 18 pick would have received.

Tue Jun 8 201008:51Cook was dealing with shoulder issues
Heat president Pat Riley said that shoulder injuries factored into Daequan Cook's lack of playing time this season.
Cook appeared in just 45 games last season, averaging 15 minutes a night. That was a huge step backward for a guy that averaged 2.0 3-pointers made per game in 2008-09. If healthy, he should be in the rotation as a defense stretcher. He isn't expected to need surgery this summer.
