Casspi (knee) will not play Thursday against the Bucks.

Casspi will miss his sixth straight game as he recovers from a bone bruise in his left knee. On the season, he's averaging 8.2 points and 3.4 assists in 18.6 minutes.

"We did an MRI the other day to try and see how it is. There's inflammation underneath the bone. Every time I try to push off or start running, it hurts like a knife." That certainly doesn't sound good, but for now Casspi remains day-to-day.

Casspi was able to participate in portions of Friday's practice and was expected to play Saturday, but that is no longer the case. It's possible that he aggravated the injury, but a more likely explanation is that the Kings simply wanted to be cautious with him and give him a few extra days to heal. Sacramento's next game is Tuesday.

He was effective with his touches, but owners who might have been expecting Casspi to have a big revenge game against his former club were probably disappointed. Rudy Gay (Achilles tendon) could return to action on Friday, but if he's not ready Casspi would be in line for another start.

Casspi scored 22 points (9-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), with four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes during Tuesday's win over the Pelicans.

While Casspi was expected to get solid minutes with Rudy Gay (achilles) out, I don't think many saw this coming. He led the team in scoring (tied with DeMarcus Cousins), and while he's not a consistent fantasy option for most fantasy leagues, you'll want to keep him on your radar to see if he continues to get minutes when Gay returns.

Casspi will start at small forward Tuesday.

Rudy Gay (Achilles) is out, giving way to Casspi at the three. Gay hopes to be back for Friday's contest, so Casspi's value is primarily limited to daily leagues.

Casspi scored 14 points (5-5 FG, 4-4 FT) in a perfect shooting performance Thursday against the Bulls. He played 17 minutes off the bench and also contributed one rebound and one steal.

Casspi was perfect Thursday in the win, not missing a single field goal or free throw attempt. He backs up Rudy Gay and plays a vital role for a solid Kings team off the bench. On nights the Kings are up big, Casspi should play more. Unfortunately, there is little fantasy value to be had with him as long as Gay stays healthy.

Casspi logged 27 minutes of action on Monday against the Denver Nuggets. He scored nine points, secured one rebound, had four assists, and blocked one shot while turning the ball over once.

Casspi committed a foul on a 3-point attempt with 25.6 seconds left to play. Wilson Chandler made all three free throws to make it a 105-103 game. The mishap didn't cost the Kings the win, so he gets a pass this time. Casspi is merely a role player with no fantasy significance at this point in time.

Casspi looks to be over the back injury that hampered him in the preseason, and was able to give his team 15 minutes off the bench. As long as Rudy Gay remain healthy, Casspi will likely remain on the bench too long for him to have fantasy value in standard leagues.

Casspi did not play in Friday's final preseason game against the Lakers, although he was available off the bench and not limited because of his recent back injury.

Casspi's back injury was minor in nature and won't likely hold him back when the Kings start their regular season against the Warriors on Wednesday. Most important to keep in mind when considering Casspi as an option is that he's currently behind Rudy Gay and Derrick Williams in the pecking order. That poses major problems for his viability this season unless the injury bug hits Sacramento.
