Thu Sep 18 201417:16Casspi signed with Kings on Thursday
Casspi signed with the Kings on Thursday, The Sacramento Bee reports.
Casspi spent two seasons in Sacramento after the Kings drafted him in the first round of the 2009 Draft. In fact, with combined averages of 9.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 3PM, Casspi's first pair of seasons were the best of his five-year career to date. Nonetheless, the Israeli played just 18 minutes per game for the Rockets last season, so he'll have to re-establish himself to earn minutes at small forward during his second stint with the Kings.
Fri Jul 25 201420:17Casspi looking at one year deal with Kings
Omri Casspi is finalizing a one-year contract with the Kings after clearing waivers on Friday.
The move will reportedly allow the Kings to keep Quincy Acy and that was previously in doubt. Casspi isn't going to move the needle in fantasy or reality, but he will add to the glut of power forwards the Kings are swimming in.

Fri Jul 25 201417:14Report: Omri Casspi clears waivers, now a FA
Omri Casspi reportedly cleared waivers on Friday, and he is now a free agent.
Casspi is now free to sign with a team of his choosing, but with career averages of 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 0.9 three-pointers a game, it won't matter where he lands from a fantasy perceptive.

Wed Jul 23 201417:14Pelicans waive Omri Casspi
The Pelicans waived G/F Omri Casspi.
The writing has been on the wall for a while here with his contract becoming guaranteed on Aug. 1. Casspi had a solid preseason in Houston last season, but couldn't get his 2013-14 regular season off the ground. He'll get a camp invite somewhere.

Wed Jul 23 201410:13Omri Casspi expects to be waived by August 1
Omri Casspi expects the Pelicans to waive him prior to August 1, when his $1.1 million deal would become guaranteed.
Casspi is a career 35.2 percent 3-point shooter and his minimum contract is reasonable, but apparently New Orleans doesn't feel that he'd add much to their roster. "My agent is talking with a number of teams and the Kings are one of them," Casspi said. "Couldn't they use a stretch forward who can hit a three and loves to run? ... I would love to come back [to Sacramento] and fulfill my path. But now I have to concentrate on the [Israeli] national team."

Sun Jul 13 201419:01Omri Casspi traded from Rockets to Pelicans
Omri Casspi was traded to the Pelicans as part of Sunday's three-team trade with the Wizards and Rockets.
Houston dealt Casspi, Omer Asik and $1.5 million in cash to the Pelicans in a deal which expanded to include five players, one draft pick, cash considerations and traded-player exceptions. Casspi averaged 18.1 minutes for Houston last season and may find himself with a bigger role in New Orleans, even if he comes off the bench behind Tyreke Evans at SF (which isn't guaranteed). We'll keep a close eye on his role throughout the preseason.

Sat Apr 12 201419:06Omri Casspi will start at small forward
Omri Casspi will start at small forward in place of Chandler Parsons (wrist, hip) vs. the Pelicans on Saturday.
He played 22 minutes on Friday and will likely get minutes in the 20s again tonight. Casspi has a chance to score in the teens while hitting a couple treys, so he's a decent option for owners looking for something in that neighborhood.

Mon Mar 17 201420:17Omri Casspi out with an illness
Omri Casspi (illness) won't play against the Jazz on Monday.
He didn't play in three of the last four games, so the team is not going to miss him much. Casspi has very little fantasy value in even an extremely deep league.

Sat Mar 1 201423:31Omri Casspi scores 16 points off bench
Omri Casspi played 15 minutes off the bench on Saturday vs. the Pistons with 16 points, three boards, two assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.
He had a very minor elbow injury in this game, but he shot the subsequent free throws and it didn't seem to bother him for much more than one minute. Casspi stepped up tonight with Chandler Parsons sitting out due to an illness and has been helpful for the Rockets when they're short on bodies. Parsons should be ready for Tuesday, so there's no need to add Casspi.

Sat Jan 25 201403:25Casspi cools off on Friday with five points
Omri Casspi cooled off after a 20 and 12 night on Wednesday, scoring just five points with two rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench on Friday.
This was to be expected with Terrence Jones coming back and even if Jones hadn't played tonight it would've been tough for Casspi to keep it going. He can stay on the wire in most formats.

Thu Jan 23 201400:58Omri Casspi goes for 20 & 12 in win
Omri Casspi hit 9-of-15 shots and two 3-pointers for 20 points and 12 rebounds in Wednesday's win.
Casspi is not a must-own player and scored a total of six points in three games before breaking loose for 15 and 20 in his last two. The absence of Terrence Jones (thigh) is clearly a factor in his explosion, but Casspi has shown signs of breaking out at times throughout the season. Just keep an eye on him, and look for him to fade again once Jones is back from his injury.

Tue Jan 21 201400:20Omri Casspi plays well off the bench
Omri Casspi was productive off the bench during Monday's 126-113 win over the Blazers with 15 points, eight boards, two assists and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
He played some minutes as a stretch four through the season, but that hasn't been very common due to the breakout of Terrence Jones. Considering Jones' thigh bruise is not serious, fantasy owners can keep Casspi on the wire in most formats.

Tue Jan 14 201400:10Omri Casspi looks good off the bench
Omri Casspi played 23 minutes off the bench on Monday with 12 points, six boards, three assists and three 3-pointers.
He had a chance to get some run at small forward with Chandler Parsons out, but he squandered the opportunity. Casspi will continue to serve as a stretch four behind Terrence Jones and won't have much fantasy value.

Wed Dec 4 201323:51Omri Casspi scores 14 in loss to Suns
Omri Casspi came off the bench for 14 points, seven rebounds, a steal and two 3-pointers on 6-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
Francisco Garcia got the start for Chandler Parsons, who missed his second straight game with a sore back, but had just eight points and two 3-poitners on 3-of-9 shooting. Once Parsons is back both Casspi and Garcia will go back to being hit-or-miss fantasy options. Either player could go off on any given night, but could also do next to nothing, making both of them tough to own, and even tougher to throw into fantasy lineups.

Tue Dec 3 201301:28Omri Casspi plays 30 minutes vs. Utah
Omri Casspi played 30 minutes against the Jazz on Monday and had 13 points, six boards, two steals and two 3-pointers.
The 30 minutes were a season high and coach Kevin McHale went with Casspi as a stretch four quite a bit tonight. This move may have been motivated by Chandler Parsons not being active, so it's hard to get too excited about picking Casspi up based on this line alone.

Mon Nov 25 201323:57Casspi scores 16 points off the bench
Omri Casspi scored 16 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 4-of-6 shots (2-of-3 3PTs, 6-of-6 FTs) with three rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes.
Casspi has been a low-end contributor in 14-16 team formats and all this will do is raise his value, but it's still hard to put much faith in his limited role right now. Just know what his baseline production is right now and be ready to move in standard formats if his role expands.

Sat Nov 23 201322:32Casspi scores five points with five boards
Omri Casspi scored five points on 2-of-8 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes off the bench on Saturday.
Despite coming off the bench for just 21.4 minutes per game, Casspi has been able to hold low-end value in 14-16 team leagues on averages of 8.2 points, 1.2 threes, 4.0 boards and 1.0 steals per game. Consider that food for thought if he ever steps into a more substantial role.

Wed Nov 13 201323:03Omri Casspi plays well without Harden
Omri Casspi came off the bench for 16 points, two rebounds, one assist, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers on 7-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's OT loss.
Casspi has been up and down all season, but had a good line tonight. He'll be inconsistent going forward and clearly benefitted from the absence of James Harden. He's probably better left on waivers given his inconsistency, but is also worth keeping an eye on after he had a big preseason.

Tue Nov 12 201301:12Casspi (knee) logs 26 minutes in win
Omri Casspi (knee) logged 26 minutes in Monday's double-overtime win, scoring five points on 1-of-4 shooting (no threes) with six rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.
If Casspi could do this every night his shot wasn't falling then he'd be owned in most formats, but the fact is that he can't be counted on for the defensive numbers and in general he needs to heat up before he can be relied upon in standard formats. That said, we're pretty sure his name is getting called around here sometime down the road.

Mon Nov 11 201318:52Omri Casspi is playing on Monday
Omri Casspi said he's playing against the Raptors.
He was expected to play and this report confirms he'll be active. Casspi's minutes have dropped in each of his last two games, so he's a dicey play even in a four-game week.
