Muhammad (heel) fully practiced Sunday and is expected to play in Wednesday's season opener at Memphis, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Muhammad missed time in the preseason with a sore Achilles and heel, but neither ailment is expected to sideline him for the start of the regular season. However, he'll likely have a limited role off the bench initially.

Muhammad (heel) will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Bulls, the Star Tribune reports.
Muhammad's injury isn't believed to be serious and the Timberwolves would rather err on the side of caution than risk further injury in the final preseason game of the year. The 21-year-old's next opportunity to get on the court will be against the Grizzlies on Wednesday during the regular season opener.

Muhammad has some soreness in his heel and probably won't play in Friday's preseason game, the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda reports.
It's the same injury that bothered him earlier in the week, but it's not likely to be something that holds him out of the season opener.

Muhammad scored 19 points (6-13 FG, 1-2 3P, 6-8 FT) with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in 33 minutes during Wednesday's preseason win over the Bucks.
Andrew Wiggins (back) got the night off, and Muhammad took full advantage of his opportunity in the starting lineup. The second year wing likely won't see big minutes when the regular season begins, but if injuries open up some time for Muhammad he could provide surprising fantasy value.

Muhammad (Achilles) scored six points with one rebound and one steal in 18 minutes in Tuesday's preseason win over the Pacers.
Muhammad had missed the last two games with a sore Achilles, but he looks ready for the regular season. Muhammad will likely begin the season with a small role off the bench again.

Muhammad (Achilles) is considered questionable to play Tuesday against Atlanta, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Muhammad has missed the last three games with a sore Achilles, an issue initially not expected to cost him much time. If he misses Tuesday's contest he'll have only two more opportunities to play before the regular season begins. Minnesota travels to Milwaukee on Wednesday before heading to Chicago on Friday.

Muhammad (Achilles) had his 2015-16 contract option picked up by Minnesota on Sunday.
Muhammed had a relatively disappointing rookie campaign last season as he only averaged 3.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.3 assists during 7.8 minutes per game. Maybe more importantly, he only played in 37 games for Minnesota as he spent time in the D-League and out with an MCL injury towards the end of the season. Regardless of all this, the Timberwolves committed to the 21-year-old for the next two years with Sunday's news.
Thu Oct 16 201413:51Muhammad (Achilles) has shed walking boot
Muhammad (Achilles) has shed his walking boot, St. Paul Pioneer Press' Andy Greder reports.
Muhammad has been dealing with a sore Achilles since the beginning of the week, and has missed the past few days of practice because of it. He still will not play in the Wolves' preseason game Friday, but he could play Sunday. Regardless, it appears Muhammad should be healthy prior to the start of the regular season.
Wed Oct 15 201414:48Muhammad (Achilles) still in walking boot Wednesday
Muhammad (Achilles) was still in a walking boot Wednesday, but he could play in Sunday's exhibition game, the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda reports.
Coach Flip Saunders said Muhammad could practice Thursday and Saturday, and if all goes well he could return Sunday in Tulsa. This rules out the second-year player seeing action in Friday's exhibition, but it looks like he could be ready for the start of the regular season.

Muhammad (Achilles) is in a walking boot and is unlikely to play Friday against Milwaukee, the St. Paul Pioneer Press' Andy Greder reports.
Muhammad will miss the next few days of practice, as the team's medical staff attempts to quell the second-year swingman's tendinitis. He'll likely miss Friday's game but could return at some point next week.
Mon Oct 13 201414:51Muhammad (Achilles) did not practice Monday
Muhammad (Achilles) did not practice Monday, Kent Youngblood of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Muhammad is dealing with a sore Achilles and has not practiced since the middle of last week. Continue to consider him day-to-day in advance of Friday's matchup with the Bucks.
Sat Oct 11 201414:59Muhammad (Achilles) did not practice Saturday
Muhammad (Achilles) did not practice Saturday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Muhammad missed most of Thursday's practice due to a sore Achilles' tendon, and while coach Flip Saunders said he was more active and feeling better Friday, the team decided to play it safe and hold him out of its preseason game against Philadelphia. The 21-year-old Muhammad could return to practice as early as Sunday.

Muhammad missed Friday's preseason game due to a sore Achilles' tendon, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
The injury sounds minor as he was able to practice some on Thursday and likely would have played if it were a regular season game.
Tue Sep 30 201410:50Muhammad more trim and appears to be in better shape this season
Muhammad is more trim and appears to be in better shape this season, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "He looks like a different person," Saunders said. "He ran the floor and didn't look to get too tired."
Saunders' quote came after the Wolves' "Dunks after Dark" event in Mankato, MN - essentially a glorified midnight madness-esque, intra-squad scrimmage. While it may not be the best indicator of how Muhammad's season will play out, it's certainly encouraging to see him trim down his frame after a disappointing rookie season in which conditioning was a problem. The 14th overall pick in the 2013 draft appeared in only 37 games, averaging 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds while shooting 46.0 percent from the field.
Sat Jul 19 201410:42Shabazz Muhammad sits out due to ankle
Shabazz Muhammad did not play on Friday due to right ankle soreness.
He didn't have the greatest summer league, making just 37.1 percent of his shots on his way to 16.2 points per game. Muhammad had a 24-shot game in the opener back on July 12 and was able to finish strong with a 24-point game on July 17. He still has to add more to his game than just scoring.

Thu Jul 17 201419:07Shabazz scores game-high 24 in loss to Kings
Shabazz Muhammad scored a game-high 24 points to go along with three rebounds, one assists, and two steals on Thursday against the Kings.
He shot 7-of-13 from the field as well as 9-11 from the free throw line. Muhammad had a tough rookie campaign, spending most of it in the D-League. He has looked much improved in the Summer League thus far, but needs to prove that he can produce on a consistent basis.

Tue Jul 15 201418:20Shabazz Muhammad (ankle) struggles in defeat
Shabazz Muhammad (sore ankle) scored 10 points in Tuesday's ugly defeat in Las Vegas, shooting 3-of-15 from the field with five turnovers in 25 minutes.
Muhammad was also 3-of-5 at the FT line and he added only three rebounds, one assist and one block without any steals. He dropped 27 points in the Wolves' first Summer League game, but consistency isn't his strong suit as Tuesday's game will attest.

Mon Jul 14 201401:08Shabazz Muhammad leaves w/ sore ankle
Shabazz Muhammad did not play in the second half of Minnesota's Summer League game on Sunday due to ankle soreness.
It's doubtful that Muhammad's injury is serious, but we'll pass along more details as they become available. He racked up 27 points and 11 rebounds in the Wolves' first game in Las Vegas and may carve out a bigger role in his second NBA season, but nothing suggests that he'll be relevant for fantasy owners.

Sat Jul 12 201421:02Shabazz Muhmmad drops 27 points vs. Dallas
Shabazz Muhammad made 10-of-24 from the field vs. the Mavericks on Saturday for 27 points with 11 boards, two turnovers and two 3-pointers.
He's known more for sneaking girls into dorms than his play on the court, so this was a nice start for him. Muhammad couldn't get much playing time at just 7.8 minutes per game during his rookie season, but he had one bright spot with a 20-point game on Feb. 25. He still has a lot of work to do.

Tue Jul 8 201415:56Shabazz Muhammad asked to lose weight
Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders asked Shabazz Muhammad to lose about 15 pounds before the start of the 2013-14 season.
Muhammad was listed at 225 pounds last year and he's reportedly shed 7-8 pounds since the season ended. He played in only 37 games as a rookie but showed signs of life late in the season, shooting 56.4 percent in limited minutes in March and April. He has plenty to prove before emerging as a reliable fantasy option.
