Mon Feb 4 201309:46Jason Richardson could be headed to bench
Jason Richardson (knee) could be headed for a bench role when he returns, according to PhillyBlurbs.
The Sixers have played well with Nick Young in the starting lineup, and bringing J-Rich off the bench could be a way to effectively limit the veteran's minutes in order to keep him healthy. If Young is still floating around on your waiver wire, he shouldn't be.

Sun Feb 3 201310:16J-Rich (knee) may not overtake Young at SG
Jason Richardson (knee) could find himself coming off the bench behind Nick Young once he's healthy enough to return.
The Sixers are 3-1 with Nick Young as the starting SG, and his offensive punch is helping Philly avoid the slow starts that have plagued them all season. Fantasy owners should simply hang onto Young and see what happens, since it's not even clear when J-Rich could return to action -- he's missed six games and counting.

Fri Feb 1 201318:12Jason Richardson out again, Nick Young starts
Jason Richardson (knee) will not play in Friday's game against the Kings.
Richardson has been unable to make his way back from his specialist visit in Colorado due to weather issues. Consider him very questionable for Monday's game against the Magic. Nick Young, who is averaging 17.7 points and 2.5 3-pointers over the last four contests, gets another start. Dorell Wright will play ahead of Damien Wilkins off the bench.

Thu Jan 31 201309:19Jason Richardson's doctor trip precautionary
Jason Richardson's trip to see a knee specialist is being deemed "precautionary."
The veteran said that he hopes to return on Friday, but seeing a knee specialist in Colorado doesn't exactly bode well for a guy who has a history of knee problems and has missed time this season due to that. Regardless, we'll know more about Richardson's long-term outlook after the visit. In the short-term, Nick Young and Dorell Wright each receive a boost.

Wed Jan 30 201317:59Jason Richardson gets second opinion on knee
Jason Richardson is traveling to Colorado to get a second opinion on his sore knee.
Wednesday will be the fifth straight game Richardson has missed since his knee began acting up. He had been targeting a return on Friday, but that could change depending on what diagnosis he gets in Colorado. For now, Nick Young appears to be a pretty nice short-term pickup. Dorrell Wright, who has received two straight DNP-CDs, will also be "out there tonight," according to coach Doug Collins.

Mon Jan 28 201318:31Jason Richardson (knee) won't play Monday
Jason Richardson (knee) will not play vs. the Grizzlies on Monday and he's targeting a return on Friday.
This seems to rule him out for Wednesday's matchup with the Wizards, also, which is good news if you picked up Nick Young for short-term production.

Sun Jan 27 201312:33Jason Richardson misses practice Sunday
Jason Richardson (knee) did not practice with the team Sunday.
Richardson's missed the last three games due to his his left knee synovitis and remains listed as day-to-day. The Sixers next play Monday, so we should know something more after shootaround tomorrow. Nick Young remains the primary, short-term benefactor as long as J-Rich is sidelined.

Sat Jan 26 201317:43Jason Richardson (knee) out on Saturday
Jason Richardson (knee) will not play against the Knicks on Saturday.
It's his third missed game in a row with his left knee synovitis, but Richardson said the swelling has gone down. He will see a doctor and he could still miss some more time with the injury. J-Rich isn't really worth owning in standard leagues until he can stay healthy. Nick Young has benefited so far, but he should only be viewed as a stop-gap option.

Fri Jan 25 201312:33Jason Richardson out w/ left knee synovitis
Jason Richardson did not practice on Friday because he has left knee synovitis.
Synovitis is a condition that causes inflammation in the knee joint. It can be caused by a variety of things, but if not treated properly, it can become a chronic concern. Richardson has had knee issues all season, so we can't say we're terribly surprised. Dorell Wright and Nick Young stand to benefit from Richardson's absence.

Mon Jan 21 201318:12Jason Richardson out Monday; Wright to start
Jason Richardson (left knee) won't play Monday and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Dorrell Wright.
Richardson has already missed seven games due to his balky knee and Monday is the first game of a back-to-back, so it's not exactly a surprise Richardson isn't playing. Wright and Richardson are involved in a straight timeshare when both are healthy, but it's possible Wright could carve out a bigger role with a string of solid performances.

Sun Jan 20 201313:09Jason Richardson (knee) iffy to play Monday
Jason Richardson (left knee) did not practice on Sunday, leaving him uncertain to play vs. the Spurs on Monday.
Philly opens the week with a back-to-back set against the Spurs and Bucks, which makes this even trickier for the veteran SG, who has missed seven games this season. He played through a sore knee on Thursday, so we're not ready to rule him out, but fantasy owners should be considering their alternatives.

Fri Jan 18 201323:20Jason Richardson returns on Friday
Jason Richardson (knee) returned to action on Friday, shooting 3-of-11 from the field for seven points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in a 108-101 win over the Raptors.
He had two milliliters drained out of his knee on Thursday, so it's a mild surprise to see him play 28 minutes. Doug Collins has been in J-Rich's corner, so he's worth a look in standard leagues. Although, his owners might want to think about cutting him at the first sign of trouble.

Fri Jan 18 201318:34Jason Richardson ready to go
Jason Richardson (knee) will play and start in Friday's game against the Raptors.
Richardson just got his troublesome left knee drained, so trainers figure to have a close eye on him. He lasted just 19 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Hornets.

Fri Jan 18 201317:46Jason Richardson still a game-time call
Jason Richardson (knee) remains a game-time call for Friday's game against the Raptors.
Richardson is working out with assistant coaches as we speak to see if his troublesome knee is loose enough to play. If he sits, Dorell Wright would be worth a look as a desperation spot-start.

Thu Jan 17 201312:47Jason Richardson has fluid drained from knee
Updating a previous item, Jason Richardson had the fluid drained from his knee and his status for Friday's game is "up in the air."
Richardson's balky knee is giving him problems, and it would be surprising if he played on Friday after having it drained on Tuesday. If he is forced to sit out, Dorell Wright, Evan Turner, Damien Wilkins and Nick Young could all pick up some extra minutes.

Thu Jan 17 201309:27Jason Richardson had fluid in his knee
Jason Richardson had fluid in his knee and it is impacting the way he plays, according to Doug Collins.
Collins said that Richardson probably shouldn't have played on Tuesday, but we wouldn't be surprised if J-Rich misses time with knee soreness in the future. He's battled ankle and back issues already this season, and it's just a reminder that the veteran swingman isn't exactly the most durable player in the league.

Sat Jan 12 201322:43Jason Richardson scores 16 points with two 3s
Jason Richardson was back in the starting lineup on Saturday and had 16 points, four rebounds and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes vs. Houston.
He shot 7-of-15 from the field and looked like the J-Rich that was producing mid-round value from earlier this season. Doug Collins also said Richardson should maintain his role after this nice performance. If he was let loose in your league, he's worth a look at the very least.
