Wed Mar 7 201211:58Collmenter scratched with forearm tightness
Josh Collmenter has been scratched from Friday's scheduled start due to forearm tightness.
The Diamondbacks aren't alarmed and believe a few days of rest will do him some good. 2011 first-round pick Trevor Bauer is now expected to start in his place.

Wed Oct 5 201100:44D-backs extend series against the Brewers
Josh Collmenter limited the Brewers to one run and two hits over seven innings to earn the win in Game 3 of the NLDS on Tuesday.
The Diamondbacks will live to fight another day, as Collmenter had his third straight outstanding start against the Brewers this year (he pitched 14 scoreless innings against them in the regular season). Supported by five RBI from Paul Goldschmidt, including a grand slam, and two from Miguel Montero, the Diamondbacks cruised the 8-1 win tonight.

Sat Oct 1 201112:13Collmenter to pitch Game 3, Saunders Game 4
The Diamondbacks will pitch Josh Collmenter in Game 3 of the NLDS and Joe Saunders in a potential Game 4.
We had Saunders pegged as the Game 3 starter, but it's not a big surprise they were flip-flopped given Saunders' minor hand injury and the fact that Collmenter was fantastic against the Brewers this season, tossing 14 scoreless innings. Collmenter posted a 3.38 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 154 1/3 innings in a surprising rookie season.

Sun Sep 25 201119:44Josh Collmenter out-duels Lincecum
Josh Collmenter out-dueled Tim Lincecum in his final regular season start Sunday, holding the Giants to two runs on just five hits and a walk over seven innings in a 5-2 win.
He struck out four and gave up a pair of home runs, though, luckily for him, they were only solo shots. Collmenter has gone through ups and downs in the second half but has ultimately held his own even after the league finally adjusted to his unorthodox delivery. He finishes the year at an even 10-10 while boasting a 3.38 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. We anticipate a sophomore slump for the right-hander next season, but there's no doubting he had a terrific rookie year.

Sun Sep 11 201119:39Collmenter blasted by Pads
Josh Collmenter was tagged for six runs on seven hits and three walks over just four innings of work in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
Nick Hundley smashed a two-run homer off of him, which was one of four extra-base hits Collmenter gave up. The unorthodox right-hander had been pitching well of late after a midseason swoon, but he obviously didn't have his "A" game in this one. He does have a good chance to rebound next weekend in a start at Petco Park.

Tue Sep 6 201123:40Collmenter holds the Rockies to one run
Josh Collmenter held the Rockies to one run on five hits in 6 1/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision.
The unorthodox right-hander was mostly terrible between mid-June and early-August, allowing at least five runs in five of nine outings, but he's allowed two runs or less in six consecutive starts to lower his ERA from 3.58 to 3.10. It's safe to use him in fantasy while he's hot.

Thu Sep 1 201100:43Collmenter picks up ninth victory
Josh Collmenter held the Rockies to two runs on five hits in six innings on Wednesday, improving to 9-8 in a 4-2 Arizona victory at home.
He struck out three and walked none. Collmenter's only real mistake of the night came in the third, where he served up a solo home run to Dexter Fowler. He'll take a 3.18 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into Monday's rematch with the Rockies. With the start coming at Coors Field, he isn't likely to fare as well as he did this evening.

Sun Aug 21 201116:35Collmenter shines in loss
Josh Collmenter allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings on Sunday, but got stuck with a loss in Arizona's 1-0 setback in Atlanta.
Collmenter struck out four and walked three, but was doomed by a third inning solo homer off the bat of Alex Gonzalez. A little bit of tough luck for a player who hasn't experienced much of it this season. He'll take a 3.34 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his Friday start against the Padres.

Thu Aug 11 201100:37Collmenter downs Astros
Josh Collmenter held the Astros to two runs on four hits in seven innings of work on Wednesday, moving to 7-7 in Arizona's 6-3 win at home.
A much needed outing from Collmenter, who had allowed 11 runs on 15 hits in just six innings of work over his past two starts. He has a tough assignment lined up for his next time out, however, where he'll take on the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Sun Aug 7 201119:06Collmenter will start Wednesday against Stros
Josh Collmenter will start Wednesday against the Astros.
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said improvement is needed with his fastball command next time out. Collmenter has been in a free fall recently. The unorthodox right-hander had a couple nice starts in July, but he's been mostly terrible since mid-June, allowing at least five runs in five of nine outings. Avoid him in fantasy until he proves he can turn things around; that is, unless you're in a deeper NL-only league and want to take the chance on a great matchup against the punch less Astros on Wednesday.

Sat Aug 6 201113:26Josh Collmenter's struggles continue
Josh Collmenter's downward spiral continued Friday, as he gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk over just 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Dodgers.
Arizona had planned on skipping Collmenter's start this week, and it appears they should have. The unorthodox right-hander had a couple nice starts in July, but he's been mostly terrible since mid-June, allowing at least five runs in five of nine outings. He'll take a rising 3.58 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into next week's start against the Astros.

Wed Aug 3 201114:28Collmenter to start Friday vs. Dodgers
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said that Josh Collmenter will start Friday against the Dodgers.
Gibson had previously planned to skip Collmenter in the rotation this week, but now he'll give everyone an extra day of rest. Joe Saunders will be pushed back to Friday while Ian Kennedy will start Sunday. While Daniel Hudson won't start again until Monday, he at least gets a juicy matchup against the lowly-Astros.

Mon Aug 1 201123:45D-Backs to skip Collmenter in rotation
The Diamondbacks will skip Josh Collmenter in the starting rotation this week.
Collmenter will be available out of the bullpen for now and won't make another start until August 9. The rookie right-hander was smoked for five runs over 3 2/3 innings in his most recent start Friday against the Dodgers and has a 3.10 ERA and 63/18 K/BB ratio over 95 2/3 innings this season.

Sun Jul 31 201100:23Diamondbacks in the hunt for another starter
Either Josh Collmenter or Micah Owings will head to the bullpen, said general manger Kevin Towers.
This should take Arizona out of the reliever hunt, but it does put them in the running for another starter, albeit an upgrade over Collmenter/Owings. We don't see them making a major addition after taking on Jason Marquis' contract, so look for them to target a lesser name like Kevin Slowey.

Sun Jul 24 201100:19Josh Collmenter goes seven strong in win
Josh Collmenter pitched seven innings of three-run ball Saturday in a win over the Rockies.
Collmenter also helped himself by going 2-for-2 with an RBI. His rotation spot was in jeopary a few weeks ago, but he has a 1.29 ERA during his last three starts.

Tue Jul 19 201100:34Collmenter baffles Brewers with 8 scoreless
Josh Collmenter utterly baffled the Brewers on Monday evening, allowing just three hits in eight scoreless innings of a 3-0 Diamondbacks victory at home.
He struck out seven while issuing zero free passes in what was his best start in a season full of solid outings. After giving up 19 runs in four starts between June 14 and July 1, Collmenter has now allowed just six hits in 14 scoreless innings over his past two outings, lowering his ERA from 3.17 to 2.65. He'll get the Rockies at home this weekend.

Wed Jul 6 201117:10Josh Collmenter goes six scoreless
Josh Collmenter was denied a win after shutting out the Brewers for six innings on Thursday.
Collmenter left with a one-run lead, but that quickly disappeared in the seventh. The strong effort did take Collmenter's ERA back down to 2.92, and it'll guarantee that he keeps his spot in the rotation following the All-Star break. He was 0-4 with a 7.54 ERA in his previous four starts.

Sun Jul 3 201108:34Josh Collmenter won't be moved to pen
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson has no intention of moving the struggling Josh Collmenter back to the bullpen.
Collmenter has now lost four straight starts after Friday's setback and has given up at least five runs three times over that span. "It doesn't matter; I don't care what people think," Gibson said. "We're going to try to get him on track (as a starter)." Collmenter lacks a consistent third pitch and is hard to hit against the first time you see him with that funky delivery, making him better suited for the pen. That's likely where he'll end up in the long-term, but he's probably earned a bit longer leash, so we don't blame the D'Backs for sticking with him for now.

Sat Jul 2 201101:05Josh Collmenter loses to A's
Josh Collmenter was tagged for five runs in 4 2/3 innings Friday in a loss to the A's.
The good times have come to an end for Collmenter. He's given up at least five runs three times while losing four straight starts. NL-only leaguers will want him reserved when he pitches in Milwaukee next week.

Sun Jun 19 201120:06Collmenter loses once again
Josh Collmenter yielded three earned runs over seven innings in a loss to the White Sox Sunday.
Collmenter takes his third loss, but it's an encouraging outing. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered just five hits against a tough lineup in a hitter's park. Deep leaguers should feel fine about using Collmenter in Detroit next week.
