Sun Jun 1 201409:28Aramis Ramirez to hit lower in order
Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) will hit lower in the Brewers' batting order when he returns from the disabled list this week.
Carlos Gomez has settled into the cleanup spot, so Ramirez will occupy a lower spot in the order. "(The hot offense) lets him be more open to maybe doing something (else)," said manager Ron Roenicke. "He actually brought it up and he was fine with that if we're going to do this." Ramirez will be activated as soon as Tuesday, though the Brewers could wait until Wednesday when they can use him as a DH.

Fri May 30 201417:23Ramirez beginning rehab assignment Sunday
Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Wisconsin on Sunday.
He'll play for the Timber Rattlers on Sunday and Monday, with the goal of returning to the Brewers' lineup next Wednesday in Minnesota. Returning in an American League park would allow the Brewers to ease Ramirez back into things in the DH spot if they so choose. He's been out since mid-May with a strained left hamstring.

Thu May 22 201419:22Aramis Ramirez won't return when eligible
Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) doesn't think he'll be ready to return from the disabled list when first eligible on Monday.
The reasoning is that he's yet to run full-out yet. Ramirez is, however, making progress. "Hopefully, no setbacks and we'll keep moving forward," Ramirez said. "I haven't taken any groundballs yet. The hitting went good; the throwing went good. But I haven't taken any ground balls. Hopefully, next week I'll be doing that."

He'll do some more running on Tuesday. "It's coming along," Ramirez said. "It's not there yet, but it's only been a week." Brewers manager Ron Roenicke noted that Ramirez "still feels (the hamstring) a little bit, but I thought that was a good step." It's not clear yet when the third baseman will be ready for a rehab assignment.

The Brewers will place Aramis Ramirez (hamstring) on the disabled list.
It's no surprise after the third baseman left Saturday's game with a strained left hamstring. How long Ramirez will be sidelined isn't known yet. The Brewers also aren't sure what the corresponding roster move will be, as they're waiting to see if Ryan Braun (oblique) will be ready for activation Tuesday and also the status of Carlos Gomez's suspension appeal. Jeff Bianchi and Mark Reynolds should share third base while Ramirez is out.

Aramis Ramirez left Monday's game against the Cardinals after being hit on the left elbow by a pitch.
