Sat Sep 4 201013:45Luebke will get at least one more start
Padres manager Bud Black said Cory Luebke will get at least one more start, with Wade LeBlanc being bumped from the rotation.
The rookie looked pretty good in his major league debut Friday despite an unimpressive bottom line. His second start will come on Wednesday against the Dodgers. LeBlanc's overall numbers this season look passable, but with a 5.97 ERA and 1.55 WHIP on the road, he's very much been a product of PETCO Park. Luebke is worth adding in NL-only leagues.

Sat Sep 4 201003:17Padres' Luebke loses major league debut
Cory Luebke took a loss in his major league debut after allowing four runs in five innings Friday against the Rockies.
Jason Giambi and Troy Tulowitzki hit two-run homers off him to account for the scoring. It's unclear whether Luebke will make additional starts this month. He'd be worth using in NL-only leagues as a permanent member of the rotation, but there shouldn't be any rush to pick him up at the moment.
Tue Aug 31 201020:01Luebke to start vs. Rockies on Friday
Cory Luebke will make his first major league start against the Rockies on Friday.
The Padres also have an off-day scheduled for Thursday, so going with Luebke on Friday gives the team's starters two extra days of rest. Luebke, 25, posted a 2.68 ERA in 19 games (17 starts) between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Portland this season, averaging 6.9 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9. The former 2007 supplemental first-round pick was ranked as the organization's No. 6 prospect coming into the season by Baseball America.

Mon Aug 2 201012:47Luebke likely to reach majors this season
Padres pitching prospect Cory Luebke is likely to be called up to the majors at some point this season.
A supplemental first-round pick back in 2007, Luebke has registered a 1.04 WHIP and a 22/6 K/BB ratio over 26 innings since being promoted from Double-A San Antonio to Triple-A Portland. His name was thrown around quite a bit at this year's trade deadline, but he survived the chaos and would do well to get some big league experience down the stretch for the Padres.
