Fri Dec 10 201019:27Mets looking at Reed Johnson for bench spot
The New York Daily News' Andy Martino reports that the Mets are eying Reed Johnson for a bench spot.
Johnson hit .262/.291/.366 with two homers over 202 at-bats for the Dodgers this past season. He dealt with back problems for a good chunk of the season and missed a lot of the previous year with a broken foot. When healthy, Johnson offers an option against left-handed pitching (career .312 average), as well as the ability to play all three outfield spots.

Reed Johnson (back) has begun a minor league rehab assignment.
The 33-year-old outfielder went 1-for-3 while DHing at Single-A Inland Empire on Sunday and is expected to do the same Tuesday. Johnson has been on the 15-day disabled list since early July with a back strain and is aiming to return to the Dodgers' bench in less than a week.

Wed Jul 28 201021:23Dodgers' OF Johnson throws, swings
Reed Johnson threw in the Dodger outfield and took some swings in the cage on Wednesday evening.
Johnson is supposed to run tomorrow and could be close to a rehab assignment. He will also return to a crowded outfield with Scott Podsednik now in the fold. This means that the end is nigh for Garret Anderson, and that Johnson's meager fantasy value is probably out the window as well.

Sat Jul 10 201010:33Reed Johnson dealing with back spasms
Reed Johnson was unavailable for the Dodgers Friday due to back spasms.
"We don't think it's anything more than a few days," manager Joe Torre said about Johnson's injury. The outfielder would normally start today against lefty Tom Gorzelanny, but it sounds like there's a good chance he'll need to sit again.
