3B Yangervis Solarte led off the eighth inning with a go-ahead homer, leading the Padres to a victory over the Dodgers on Friday night. Solarte tied his career high with his 14th home run, a solo blast off LHP Adam Libertore (2-2), who allowed two runs on two hits in an 1/3 of an inning.

Green said, "He's been outstanding, played like an All-Star, driven in runs, scored runs, played great defensively. He's the guy we want in the three-hole. (But) like every player, he's emotional at points in time, and there's things we're going to do, and he understands it. Everybody understands it."

3B Yangervis Solarte was 3-for-4 with three RBIs on Saturday and is hitting .333 (49-for-147) in 37 games since June 18 with 11 doubles, seven home runs, 28 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

INF Yangervis Solarte was put on the family leave list. "Solarte went home to attend to a family medical matter," manager Andy Green before the 8-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. "Hopefully, he's back in very short order, but we don't have a definitive date on his return right now."

3B Yangervis Solarte entered Sunday with 14 extra-base hits this month, the most in the majors. He drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth as the Padres won 10-6 over the Nationals.

3B Yangervis Solarte extended his hitting streak to seven games by hitting his eighth home run of the season in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the first inning, Solarte propelled a 93 mph fastball from RHP Brandon McCarthy into the right-field bleachers for a two-run drive. Solarte, who finished 1-for-4, has hit in 17 of 19 games since June 8.

3B Yangervis Solarte hit his third home run in four games Monday at Chase Field this season, but said it's not intentional. "The ball goes out here but that's not really my focus," he said through an interpreter. "I'm just trying to make contact, hard contact." After going 1-for-4, Solarte is batting .408 (20 for 49) in his last 14 games.

3B Yangervis Solarte, who didn't start Saturday to give his injured thumb a night off, hit a two-run single as a pinch hitter in the Padres' six-run eighth inning.

3B Yangervis Solarte, who left Saturday's game after the fourth inning due to a left thumb contusion, was better. He wasn't in the lineup but pinch hit in the ninth and grounded out to end the game. Before the game, manager Andy Green said Solarte might be available to pinch hit or play defense. "I will try to give him a day of rest," Green said before the game. "Usually those things are (restrictive for) 48 to 72 hours." The switch-hitting Solarte is able to swing right-handed with no issues but not so from the left side. The Rockies started a left-hander in Tyler Anderson, but Green decided to leave Solarte out of the lineup. After Solarte was sent up to pinch hit, LHP Boone Logan came on to face him in relief of RHP Jason Motte.

3B Yangervis Solarte left the game after the fourth inning due to a left thumb contusion. "He's going to be fine," Padres mananger Andy Green said. "It's just that he's gotten jammed a number of times and missed some games. There is some swelling now. On his first at-bat, he didn't appear to swing the bat, and it seemed a good time to give him the rest of the game (off)." The switch-hitting Solarte was lifted for a pinch hitter in the fifth.
