Wed Jul 9 201422:18Conor Gillaspie homers in second straight
Conor Gillaspie had another nice game Wednesday against the Red Sox, delivering his third homer and his 21st double of the season.
It's bizarre how Gillaspie has gone from hitting third at the beginning of the year, when he seemed like a pretty lousy bet, to sixth now, even though he's batting .320. He didn't have a homer until July, but now he has three in seven games. Maybe it'll get him moved back up in the order.

Mon Jul 7 201420:42Conor Gillaspie (knee) hopes to play Tuesday
Conor Gillaspie (knee) is hoping to return to the lineup Tuesday.
Gillaspie isn't playing Monday after exiting Sunday's contest when he was hit on the right knee by a pitch. X-rays came back negative, but he remains sore. "It's not pleasant," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Monday. "Hopefully, by tomorrow he should be fine. By the miracle of [White Sox head athletic trainer] Herm [Schneider], he might be able to pinch-hit tonight. He probably could. I don't know if he'd stay in there, but he might be able to pinch-hit."

Sun Jul 6 201416:02Conor Gillaspie leaves with bruised knee
Conor Gillaspie was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Mariners with a bruised right knee.
Gillaspie was drilled by a pitch and appeared to be in obvious pain as he was helped off the field. While he should avoid the DL, it wouldn't be surprising to see him rest a game or two before returning.

Wed Jul 2 201400:21Gillaspie hits first homer of 2014 vs. Angels
Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-3 with his first home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.
Gillaspie hit the two-run shot off Jered Weaver in the second inning, and he later added an RBI single and a run scored as well. For as good as Gillaspie has been this year -- he's batting .317/.360/.432 in 60 games -- the lack of power has made him difficult to start in most standard mixed leagues. Perhaps now that he's got one under his belt the next one will come in fewer than 227 at-bats.

Fri Jun 13 201423:51Gillaspie leaves seven on base in loss Friday
Conor Gillaspie had a night to forget in Friday's loss to the Royals, going 0-for-4 and leaving seven men stranded on base.
He came to the plate with two men on and no outs in the first inning and couldn't get anything done, then flew out to center field with the bases loaded his next time up and the White Sox trailing 6-2. Everyone is allowed to have an off night and even with the hitless effort, Gillaspie is slashing a tremendous .331/.380/.434 on the season.

Fri May 30 201423:35Gillaspie has two hits Friday vs. Padres
Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored Friday in a loss to the Padres.
He's not slowing down. Gillaspie has hit safely in six straight games and now owns a surprising .356/.397/.470 batting line through 35 games. His .400-plus BABIP has certainly helped matters, but the 26-year-old has been an excellent find for the White Sox.

Mon May 26 201417:41Gillaspie has four hits in win over Indians
Conor Gillaspie stayed hot Monday against the Indians, as he went 4-for-4 with three doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored.
The four hits were a career-high. Gillaspie has hit safely in 11 out of his last 12 games and is now hitting .352 through 32 games. The 26-year-old has yet to hit a homer this season, but he's worth a look in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.

Sun May 25 201419:04Gillaspie delivers RBI single against Yankees
Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.
Gillaspie broke through for what was the White Sox' only run of the game against Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka, bringing in a run with a single in the sixth inning. He continues to be a pleasant surprise at the dish, hitting .331/.369/.424 in 31 games. His ability to hit for average alone makes him rosterable in deep mixed leagues right now.

Wed May 21 201401:14Gillaspie records three hits in win over KC
Conor Gillaspie went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored to help the White Sox hold off the Royals 7-6 on Tuesday.
Gillaspie has been on fire at the dish since being activated from the disabled list, going 16-for-38 (.421) with six runs scored in those 11 games. His seven-game hitting streak has his season line up to .347/.389/.455. It's hard to get too excited about a guy with a career .257/.315/.388 line, but fantasy owners could do worse than the 26-year-old when he's tearing it up like this.
